I was surprised she cut down Jackie O's tree. I thought americans were all big on symbolism and traditions. I guess not, they allowed a foreigner to RIP that bitch out.

They haven't been cut down. They were dug up and are in living storage.

Ignoring that the historical RESTORATION was done by actual historians and the best groundskeepers in the country? Check.

Ignoring which plants were replaced or relocated and why including the health of the trees? Check.

The party of the "living, breathing" constitution which means they can trash its historical meaning on a whim that believes in all things green thinks that landscape is static rather than living and breathing with cycles of decay and rebirth.
 
in melania's defense (and god knows i never expected to write that) they were crab apples, which are pretty for a week in spring and the rest of the year are really ugly dirty trees. i'm sure the white house gardeners were in her corner.

Interestingly enough, the topic came up on another discussion board of whether the crab apple trees are still at my childhood house. I checked it out on Zillow and they're still there, 62 years after they were planted. That was before Jackie O's rose garden plantings.
