Is there a place here to post for feedback?

Say I have a partial story and it involves new territory for me, and I would like to post what I have so far for feedback. I see where stories published on Lit get feedback, but I'm talking just a thread with my excerpt in it. Does that get done around here or not?

I can't really take this stuff to my normal writing club!! :D

Texi, I am really new at Lit, but it seems to me that you could maybe post here (if it's not too long) or even find a sympathetic ear via private message? I'm not familiar with the authors hangout and I am certainly no writer, but I'd be leery about throwing myself to the wolves.

Now that you have us (me) intrigued, how about it? ;)

I was under the impression that was for readers to give feedback on Lit published works?

I think it started that way, but over time it's evolved into more of a place to give and get feedback on topics, partial and completed pieces, find stories and ask for help on stories. :)

This post might point you in the right direction. People seem so friendly in the HT Café though, I'm sure you would get feedback there too. If you want writers and editors to give you pointers, tips etc rather than just whether it's good or bad, then do have a look at the link I suggested.

Good luck. You'll find that people are generally quite encouraging to new writers, but often quite honest too if they do think there are things that need changing. :)
