Is there a size restriction on an Litterotica Illustrated story

Is there an MB size restriction for an Illustration story? I submitted an Illustrated story that is 63 MB due to the inclusion of numerous pictures that complement the story's text. I could not find a size restriction in Literotica's instructions for its Illustrated stories. Nevertheless, Literotica states that the file for an audio story can exceed 250 MB. I, therefore, did not anticipate a problem, especially considering that I already published three Literotica Illustrated stories. The reason why I ask my question is because my submission has resided in Literotica's Pending folder for 10 days. It should have been evaluated by now. If the Moderator (or someone else in Literotica's administration) has a problem with this story, it should have been sent back to me accompanied by a message as to what is needed to get it published. Thanks for your help

10 days is nothing for an illustrated story. Expect at least a month.

It’s odd that it’s taking so long, especially since you've had illustrated stories approved before. Maybe there's a backlog, or they’re manually reviewing larger files. You could try reaching out to support just to check if there’s a size limit or if something else is causing the delay. Hope it gets sorted soon!

Illustrated stories get processed in batches with very long gaps in between - once a month if you're lucky, anecdotally, every two months. There's no "should" here. There's probably no problem, more likely it's not even been looked at yet. We've had a slow period recently where stories have taken a week or two to get through, so a slow illustrated story...

If it's got any content resembling AI images, don't wait up.

I'm guessing more than 50% of Literotica's Illustrated stories have AI-generated pictures these days. Thus, AI-generated images/pictures in an Illustrated story are welcomed. Having said that the pictures in the submitted Illustrated story that complement its text were generated by me and another Literotica member, friend, and collaborator who is a top photographer on the West Coast. We own the rights to these pictures. Thus, that's not the problem. At the Literotica instructions site, it's stated that submitted stories are normally evaluated by 2-4 days. It's been nearly two weeks. If Literotica's Moderator had a problem, the submitted story should have been sent back and my collaborators and I should have received a note describing the perceived problem. All that I can think of is 63 mb is too large for a Word file with embedded pictures in it despite the huge size (>650 mb) allowed for an audio story. That's why I asked my question.

You're assuming there's a problem, but there might not be - just a very long delay in processing illustrated stories - which has always been the case, despite what the FAQs say.

You could try a PM to Laurel - I doubt you'll get an answer, but you might see some movement.

As I said above, there's no "should" here. It might be nice to get a status on your particular submission, but the reality is, you won't.

Okay, I'll wait another week. However, Literotica's FAQs on this question clearly states that submitted stories are normally evaluated after 2-4 days. Check it out. If the submitted story continues to exist in limbo three weeks after its submission, I'll delete the current draft of the story and submit a revision a week or so later that is significantly smaller in terms of its mb size. That means deleting some (if not all) of the pictures that complement the story's text. If that is the route I'm forced to go, the result will negatively impact many of Literotica's members because my three previous Illustrated stories received more than one million views in total (two of these stories were created under a different pen name). My Literotica friend, collaborator, and photographer who created half of the pictures in the current submission probably will be furious, but I don't know what else I can do. The central problem is there is no way I can contact the Moderator who Literotica assigned to this story. That's why I posted here.

There is one reviewer for all content, Laurel.

You can quote the FAQs all you like, but having been here ten years, one gets to know what actually goes on, time wise. I've suggested you PM Laurel - she's the go to person, there is no one else.

I'd leave your story completely alone if I were you. Every time you resubmit you go to the back of the queue, and if illustrated stories can take over a month to process, you don't want that.

You're good at citing FAQs, now focus on comprehending them.

In particular, the word, "normally". There are a number of factors that influence normalcy here, such as stories being submitted for a current contest (such as Valentine's Day) always get priority. That typically delays non-contest submissions getting approved, regardless of the type of story they might be.
Literotica's FAQs on this question clearly states that submitted stories are normally evaluated after 2-4 days.

Thanks for your comment but there is no significant backup of stories at Literotica right now based on how fast a friend’s submissions were published at Literotica. My question was (and still is ) if anyone here knew if there was a size limitation of a Word file with embedded pictures in it. The size restriction for an audio file is 256 mb, but I could not find at the Literotica website a size limit for an Illustrated story. It seems no one here has an answer to my question.

Thank you for your response. I finally received an answer to my question. It was never about how long it takes for a submitted study to be reviewed. Rather, my question always was about the max size of an Illustrated story's file that was allowed. I previously had an Illustrated story published at Literotica whose file size was 2.2 Mb but maybe I was lucky geting it published. If I don't hear from Literotica's Moderator at the three-week mark, I will delete the current submission, and then submit a revised story whose Word file with its embedded images is 2 Mb or smaller. In the first approach, I will reduce the resolution of the images thereby creating a smaller JPEG file for each image. In the second approach, I will delete some of the pictures until I reach the 2 Mb size for the story's revised Word file.

Glad you finally got some clarity on your question! It sounds like you have a solid plan for adjusting the file size if needed. Hopefully, you won’t have to resubmit, but either way, it’s good to be prepared. Fingers crossed for a smooth approval process!
