Is variety the spice of ... pictures?

At least mine aren't mostly from critisizing other peoples pics.

There you go again.

Whose pictures did I criticize? (Certainly not yours, although that can be changed.) I want you to point me to one instance of such criticism. I know of two occurrences and each time the picture poster specifically asked for technical feedback.

I can see both sides of the argument. On one hand this is a free site and everyone should have the right to express there opinions (even negative opinions). We shouldn't charge in on horseback with swords drawn just because someone has a negative remark. In most cases that will only add fuel to the fire and keep the argument going. On the other hand I think there is alot to be learned from a well crafted critique of a photograph (if you are interested in photography). I certainly wouldn't flame someone because of a poor quality photograph, but I think there is an equal ground that can be found. On serious photography forums there are critique corners (a specific place for photographs that users are asking for praise/criticism). This type of area seems to work well from my experience. I don't see anything wrong with giving your opinion if someone ask for it, but interjecting at random can come across rather rude if your not careful.

Personally, I don't care for the webcam shots, but that's all some people have. I can't hold that against anyone. I like the carefully crafted shots and I will try and help anyone that asks, but I'm not going to spend alot of time writing negative or what I would think to be educational comments if I'm not asked to do so.

P.S. I think pictures can be powerful, even erotic, without nudity. The combination of simple backgrounds and poses can create an outstanding effect. If anyone ever wants help with photography just let me know.

And here I thought this was The Darkroom Lounge, where everything can be discussed. I now see that an open mind is only required if you aren't one of the "in crowd."

Liz, I love your argument: This is a forum where people are supposed to have fun and I'm supposed to respect that, but you will not respect my opinion. Nice. How am I supposed to react to that kind of logic?

everything can be discussed but i think that 99 percent of us like to have an open mind and be courteous of the people that have the courage to post. i think we are a close knit family and dont like to see other's being put down. go to the general board for that. you will feel right at home. you are welcome to stay here too but be prepared for who you are talking to/with

i guess what im saying is that we like to play nice on the children's playground....or in this case ampic forums

(((((hugs))))) let's all just get along. LOL
