Really shy and not sure how to start conversations so, I thought it best for people to get to know me through television media. I love movies and I love television shows, youtube videos, music videos, I love it all. I love to watch.

So, this is my little space to talk about everything I am currently watching where you can come get to know me and my tastes. Feel free to post about things you are watching, share links with me, recommend stuff, anything at all, from big screen movies to youtube cat videos. I would love to chat about it. :rose:

---------------------------

Watching a lot of "Best of the 80's" countdown vids on Youtube. Went through one that was for 1985 and it showcased Tears for Fears "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" giving a snippet from the music video. I have to ask, did Roland Orzabal always wear that peacoat and scarf for all his appearances? Like Michael Jackson and the red jacket for a while? XD

Suddenly, I'm reminded of that one episode of Psych and totally without meaning to, mentioned both the people Shawn and Gus dress up as for the American Idol parody.

Had to stop watching the current episode of Nikita tonight. On the second season and it's the episode where Michael tries to help his old Russian fling flee the country with her little boy. ((Spoilers))Division is there as well, unaware of Niki and Mike, and they put a bomb in the car that they plan on using as a getaway for the mother and boy. I cannot believe the writers would blow up his family again! Those sadistic bastards!

No but I just watched the trailer(for back when it was "new") and I'm very interested! I've seen Paulo Costanzo in other things and enjoy his acting, so, I'll probably give it a whirl.

It is fun to watch. The interaction between the brothers is really good.

Suits is another good show to watch.

I just finished watching Royal Pains. I thought it was enjoyable. All the characters added something to the show.

Trivia time: In real life, the mansion owned by the Boris character is actually the second largest private home ever built in the U.S.

I'll definitely put it on my list for what to watch next. I'm currently waiting for Salem, Gotham, iZombie, and Twelve Monkeys to finish their seasons so that I can either buy a whole season on Amazon or watch it for free on Netflix; whichever my impatience wins over first.

----------------------------------

Recently, I got hyper focused on Dominic Monaghan and got in a Lost sort of mood, went looking for this song that I heard during the 4th or 5th season airing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3_vZ-v27-Y Actually pretty good and I like the guy who sings it.

While looking for that though, I stumbled upon Onision's video "Fan art FAILS" where he showcased a bunch of art of him that people have done. I was a teensy bit disappointed that my artwork didn't show up, despite being on his deviantArt's favorite page. Oh well.

I've seen a few Gotham and didn't think it was too bad. I was able to pick it up on Blu-Ray cheap

We have Penny Dreadful, Bates Motel & Banshee on the pvr we haven't watched yet.
Grimm & The Blacklist ended last week, also love The Americans, Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, Ray Donovan, Blindspot, Schitt's Creek.

L:rose:

My absolute favorite is The Game of Thrones. I love American Horror Story too, as well as The Walking Dead. Those three are the only ones I'll watch in my home theater, the other shows I watch are on a treadmill while multitasking working out. Those would be Supernatural and Doctor Who.

Been watching House of Cards lately too.

I actually have nothing but a computer and my laptop has no disc drive, so, I'm completely online for all my tv and movie needs. It sucks but I'm hoping to save up some dough and get a new comp with an actual disc drive.

I have only heard of some of those. I tried to get into Penny Dreadful because Tumblr gifs and screenshots made it look like it'd be right up my alley but there was just something about the pilot that turned me off. Like the main lady is a really intense starer. [/George Costanza] I have to get back into Bates Motel. I made the mistake of only watching it with my friend on her DVR and we didn't get together for a while and she started watching them without me. I'm not a fan of playing catch up when it comes to watching shows with other people; at that point, I might as well just go solo with it.

I love Game of Thrones but haven't watched past the season that ended with Arya abandoning the Hound to die. I think I was waiting for the next season but I don't do well with waiting for shows. I'm a big binge watcher.

American Horror Story Hotel was super good recently and I faded out of the Walking Dead after they forced Carol to leave for killing that dude.

Supernatural I am actually really passionate about the first 5 seasons but won't recommend the last ones to anyone. I got really involved in the fandom and they're such entitled little brats, I eventually abandoned it altogether.

Huge 10th Doctor enthusiast. I haven't been back since DT moved on.

I dug Psych too. I thought it was fucking hilarious. I saw all of them but the musical episode because I kind of can't stand musicals. I put together a Halloween playlist one year and watched it on Halloween. Let's see if I can remember all the episodes I watched. There was the vampire episode, the werewolf episode, the mummy episode, the zombie dreams episode, (with Bruce Campbell right before the show ended) the episode where Shawn faked the haunting in Gus' boss' house, the episode with Frank Whaley where he thought his house was haunted, the Shining parody episode, the haunted house fair ride episode, Scary Sherry, and Tuesday the 17th. I think that was it. I was debating putting 100 Clues in there too but that seemed to be a slightly different theme.

Plus it was already a long marathon. Took me all day to watch all those episodes.

I love Psych so much. I think some of my favorite episodes are the American Idol parody and the western one. You make me want to watch it again, lol! XD

I don't go for horror but I watched the show this past season just to see Lady Gaga.

That was probably the best part of it! I absolutely loved her role this season and she's not bad as an actress. I also found it caught my interest again. The Freakshow, it got more and more weird and I felt like Jessica Lange's character, Evan Peters character, Sarah Paulson, and even Kathy Bates all chafed that season. They were not very engaging, the mysteries were flat. It felt very much like most of the time they were trying to be sympathetic to people with genetic mutations and the rest of the time, they were trying to exhaust every last inch of Lange's notoriety. Kinda ass powdery the role to begin with, this unappreciated singer and all. Loved every other season except that one.

Has anybody else watched Hannibal(aka Murder Boyfriends)? Lol, I loved that. It could get a little weird during dialogue and interactions because a lot of the conversations characters had with each other was oblique, with them psychoanalyzing each other and themselves. However, I loved the way it was shot, the details, the art and the emotion of it all. And I have a new appreciation for Mads Mikkelsen that I didn't have before. :D

Still watching Nikita. I have a dark passion for the episodes where the guys get captured and tortured. Just watched the ep in season 2 where Birkoff gets captured and almost has his brain fried by Amanda(seriously, that bitch is scary and hot! She gets so mad when she's interrupted!). Ole Otter Eyes is adorably delicious and vulnerable, his face all marked up with scabbing cuts, eyes red rimmed with pre-bruises. I don't want to be in Amanda's shoes but I definitely would be in Nikita's, taking extra special care of him once he's home safe and sound. :rose:

Watching the 8th season of The Office. Definitely a tonal shift once Steve Carrell leaves but it's not bad, just different. He really was the star of the thing, whereas everyone else were kind of side stories. Now it's nothing but side stories but they make up for the hole he left behind. James Spader is hilarious as well and I can't tell if I like stuff he says or people's reactions to him more.

I watched Monsters and Monsters: Dark Continent. Currently writing reviews for them on my blog but omg! I absolutely loved both of them! Some people might not know but I adore gigantic monsters. My favorite animes are Neon Genesis Evangelion with all its twisted layers and the hidden origins of the EVAs and Attack on Titan with the creepy, Uncanny Valley Titans which may or may not be sleepwalking people. I loved Pacific Rim and Cloverfield and I loved the Scar by China Mieville. I love huge monstrous things.

So, right away as soon as we see the creatures in these films I was already loving it. It just got better and better with the human-centric stories. The first film, Monsters was okay and I really liked both protagonists and the stuff they had to deal with. The story was very complete and paced well. Monsters: Dark Continent had me romanced by the military bromances in the beginning of the film. It's like they took a bit of everything I love and crammed it all in the first 20-30 minutes. I loved the gratuitous sex, I loved the flash of drugs at the party, the bros all bonding with their bros, the brotherly wrestling for no reason over a basketball game, the familiar touching that made my heart flutter, the shaved heads and skinny muscled guys. Seriously, it was like a music video of "stuff that gets Manders hot." Although I loved the look of the monsters a lot better in this film and the themes explored surrounding their interaction and interaction with the humans, the narrative fell apart about halfway through. I get what they were trying to do but nobody is fucking bonding with the bearded crazy sergeant dude, okay? For them to break apart the camera shots and the storyline to fit in with his fractured and deteriorating mindset is not making me "feel what he's feeling"; it's breaking my immersion. Just sayin'.

Well I know you're not a big superhero fan but I really think The Flash is awesome and you might like it. It's one of my favorites because I do love DC's superheroes so much but it's also a very good show with some cool science fiction concepts. Plus the characters are very well-written and diverse. Both in terms of personality and gender/race. It's one of the more diverse shows on TV, in fact. And I like that about the show. It's nice to see more people being represented. Helps me get more into the show if I know I'm getting a variety of experiences and points of view. I'd recommend watching the pilot and if you like that you'll dig the rest of the show. The first season finale is just very good TV. A lot of people teared up during it too.

I think you might also dig Constantine. It's a wry British guy fighting demons. There's a good amount of action and it's pretty clever. It got canceled but its one season is good.

I'd say Burn Notice would also be a good one to check out. I like the early seasons more than the later ones but it's still a pretty good show overall. A lot of smart writing, though I prefer the mythology episodes about Michael's time as a spy to the franchise ones. The plot-of-the-week episodes are still okay though. I don't think there's an outright bad episode.

And of course if you've not seen Battlestar Galactica it's more than worth it. Fucking amazing show. Just fantastic. I can't praise it enough. The only show I like more is The Sopranos.

And I keep meaning to watch Penny Dreadful but I've not gotten to it yet. So much TV to watch. But it seems like your kind of thing.

Huge 10th Doctor enthusiast. I haven't been back since DT moved on.

I watched the first few episodes of Penny Dreadful & lost interest. GoT & AHS are pretty much the only two I keep up with now.

Also a huge DW fan. I was so pissed when DT left, but my son wanted to watch with MS. He turned out to be really good. Though many of the shows were all about Amy & Rory... The jury is still out for me with PC, especially with a new companion starting this season.

@Urban Bohemian: I just recently saw that they have a show for Constantine! Definitely gonna look into watching it because although Reeves was lukewarm for the film, I loved the concepts explored and the idea of the character.

I've tried Burn Notice a couple of times but it just didn't hit the right note with me.

BTGS is one I haven't tried. I'm not into spacey stuff very much. I did enjoy Firefly but it felt like it broke the genre preconceptions of space crew and spaceships being all uniforms, glowing touchscreens, phasers and "beam me up."

Have you watched any of the Lizzie Borden Chronicles? I fucking loved that. :D Christina Ricci plays a great little sociopath, lol. Show with all it's ups and downs was very entertaining. I was a little mad when I looked for a second season and realized there wasn't one and there wasn't going to be one.

Like I was telling UB, I don't really like scifi. The only reason I even enjoyed DW was because the 10th doc was so entertaining to watch. I might give it a chance at some point but it's still "too soon." lol

A thread about TV series? Count me in, although I don't watch so much nowadays.

+1 vote for The Flash here. I am a comic book fan, although I'm more Marvel than DC. However The Flash is one my favourite TV shows right now - UrbanBohemia summed it up well.

Others show I watch (although I'm behind on nearly all of them) - iZombie, Arrow, Daredevil, The Blacklist, Castle(now cancelled), Elementary, Agents of Shield, Agent Carter(now cancelled), Suits, The Librarians, and Person of Interest.

Currently rewatching older episodes of Leverage and White Collar. The latter was a real favourite of mine - Neal Caffrey was a man crush for many years!

I have odd tastes too - I tend not to like anything too serious, but too silly puts me off. I was never able to get into Psych for example, I just found it too stupid. My favourite series of all time is Angel, I really wish it had got the ending it deserved.

Oh, Battlestar definitely does too! I don't like space operas outside of Star Trek either but I was finally persuaded to give it a shot about halfway through the second season and I LOVED it! It's just such a great show. It just happens to be set in space and though there are a lot of scenes set in space with dogfights and such it's a human drama with some supernatural elements before anything else. It's very, very different from any space show I've ever seen. It really has to be seen to get a good idea of what it's about. It starts with an apocalypse and it's really about the dark side of humanity. The SF stuff is the backdrop but the show is about the characters and how they react to being in desperate situations. I recommend it very strongly. I really do think you'd love it. And the acting is on a cinematic level. No TV acting there. I could gush for hours but the characters, the religious themes, the supernatural elements, and even some of the science fiction stuff with the Cylons are so fascinating it's just enthralling.

It starts with a four-hour miniseries that is very good and it goes up from there. And it's one of the smartest shows I've ever seen. It's pretty intense but there's a lot of complexity in that. So I definitely would recommend everyone who likes good drama at least try it. It's a modern classic.
