Isle of the Last Knights

OOC Sorry been at work for 2 days,

Cara looked at the newcomer, emperor, different world, bahh tosh, the only bit she believed was the brain fever part, she just hoped that he wasn't dangerous, oh well last time she had tryed to save every one she had been wrong she just hoped she was wrong this time as well.

Cara looked round the group it looked like she was going to have to head of 'home' on her own, Well that was fine she had always managed on her own in the passed, but she really didn't want to face her brother.
Looking at Ian Cara said "If I leave now I can be there and back in about 4 days,."
Cara turned picked up her pack and shouldered it,taking another look at the castle she turned back to Ian and said "take care of yourself and look after darling Bobo"
With a last weak smile Cara headed away from the group and towards her 'home' country of Siluria, and her Brother.

Azreal didn't bother turning to the group, he just used what little power of magic he had been blessed to have at brith to communicate with Ian.

"I have no home and no followers, as you should already know. So I shall accompany you to the castle and help you in your searches."

His mouth never moved, and air never escaped his lungs. The words travelled from Azreal's mind to Ian's. The medallion on his neck grew bright red as the small bit of magic was used to send Ian this simple message.

To say Ian was startled at hearing Azreals voice in his head was an understatement. He had suspected there was Power there, and had sensed it that first day. The fact that he had survived the confrontation with the Dark Wizard only served to confirm that fact. He had thought it was latent, like Imogens, unused, or unusable. This proved him wrong.

He sent his thoughts out, back to Azreal. "Come then. We will talk inside."

He continued on to the castle. He had his ideas about the medallion Azreal wore, as well. He would need to test them as well.

He used his Power to push open the doors of the castle, and sent his thoughts to Azreal, who trailed behind him. "Be on your guard..."

Bobo le Fay:

Nowhere in my mind does the thought of asking my family occur. In deed, they are far from helpful--they'd probably cause me much embarrassment.

Hovering at eyelevel, I follow the others into the castle.

Azreal followed Ian into the castle, drawing his sword even before the warning from Ian was sent to him. The medallion shown slightly through his shirt, though Azreal didn't know why.

His eyes followed the shadows as they danced on the walls, suspecting something inhuman to leap from them and swallow him whole.

"Head for the lowest level of this castle. I have a hunch that we missed soemthng the first time through." Azreal was half talking to himself as he side stepped through a doorway and into a large chamber.

Imogen of Glastonbury

Imogen couldn't do much alone in the room. She spoke very little with Mrs. Hanson. She spoke in the third person, and it scared Imogen a little. The guards at the door did little to reasure her. Their learing eyes peeking through the little window in the door caused her to hide when she changed clothing. Mrs. Hanson has also brought clothes along with food, along with a few books.

Mostly, Imogen would sit on the bed, longing for someone to talk to, gazing outside and wishing she were with her cousin. Sometimes, she tried to contact Ian through her thoughts. She would picture him as she saw him that first day, herself dressed in the beautiful dress wearing her mothers crown. She wondered if that was her in the future. It gave her hope to cling to as she waited alone in her tower.

OOC: i think the prob is, with imogen alone i can move time faster than the whole lot of everyone else. we gotta fix that!

Ian followed Azreal, not sure what they were looking for. He sent out his senses, looking for like, then magic, and found nothing. Then he tried something different. He sent out his senses looking for... nothingness is the best word he could come up with.

It was something he had learned while a boy living with the Magi. Each Mage had a hidden chest, or some area that he kept his most personal items. They would spend hours creating the spell to hide it, in effect hididng the very magic itself from their senses. He had developed a way to find these items.

He noticed that everything had readiated Power. Trees, stones, animals, plants... and even the rock that made up this castle. Anything that had absolutely no Power resonance MUST be one of those hidden chests!

He, of course, had used this ability to cause havoc, finding the Magi's things, and moving them around so that the Magi themselves couldn't find them. The Tower had constantly been in an uproar over this Magi missing one item, or that magi missing another. They had not been amuzed when they had found out who had done it.

He sent out his senses to look for that same nothingness here, and found it!

"A hidden room, this way," he sent out to Azreal.

He followed his senses to the left, and down a corridor, then down a spiral staircase, and another corridor. He stopped halfway, in front of an empty wall.

He held his staff out before him, and touched the tip to the bottom of the wall before him. He whispered the Words, and trailed the tip of the staff in the shape of a large half circle from floor, to ceiling, and back to floor. The wall between shimmered slightly, then more, until finally a door appeared. He sent his senses through the dorr to sense any kind of traps inside and found none.

"The room is safe," he whispered to Azreal.

He reached out, opened the door, and stepped into the room... with Azreal at his side.

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, I've been working.

Sir Percibal:

Sir Percibal was waiting outside as Ian and Azreal went in to investigate the castle.

"They have been in there for a long time. I hope ther're alright. Maybe I should go in to check on them, because nothing is going on out here"

Sir Percibal bravely walkd in to the entrance. Immediately ater walking in, he felt a chill.

"I heard them say they were going to the lowest level of the castle"

Sir Percibal tried to find a stairway down. The he saw a part of the floor that look odd. He walked over to it and stomped to see if it was hollow. That part of the floor collapsed and there was a stairway.

"Maybe that's where I should look. I should look here and report what I find."

The stairway was quite old and looked very unstable, but the brave knight descended them anyway. When he got the bottom of the stairs, he noticed there were no rooms, just four walls.

"How strange! That doesn't make any sense."

Percibal walked over one of the walls and knocked on it. It was very much solid. He did the same on the other walls, which produced the same result."

"What the hell is going on here?"

Sir Percibal walked back over to the first wall apon whch he had first knocked and layed up against it. He stood there puzzeled, wondering where to look next.

Again, he felt that same chill that he felt when he first entered the castle. Suddenly without notice, Sir Percibal fell through the wall he was leaning on.

"What? That wall was solid. I know it was. I checked it."

Sir Percibal stood up and turned around. There before him was a glowing sword that was floating in the air. The brave knight was speechless.

A voice came from nowhere and spoke the words: "Welcome Sir Percibal. I know why you are here; I know what you want; and I it will be granted to you only if you can prove you can handle it."

"Are you talking about that sword? And how do you know my name?

"Search yourself Sir Percibal. Do you not remember why you left your country?
Remember."

The knight sorted through his thoughts of the day he first started hearing voice in his head, how it told him he was destined to have great power, and that he should come to this land and help a fallen soldier with a woman at his side.

"Yes, I remember. I do. You were the voice weren't you?"

"Yes", the voice replied.

"Take the sword into your hand and feel its power"

Sir Percibal followed the instruction given to him and reached out and took the sword. He felt a pain like no other. The heat was unbearable and it lingered on for what seemed like hours, but Sir Percibal would not let it go. Finally the pain went away, Sir Percibal felt a strength unlike any other he had felt before.

The voice once again spoke and said, "This sword is like no other. It holds great power in the hands of the right man, but its power comes in stages. You will understand all in due time."

Sir Percibal stood silent for another moment and then spoke. "Tell me who are you?"

There was no answer.

Just as Sir Percibal turned towards the wall he had come through, some sort of furocious beast jumped out at him. With all his might, Percibal swung his sword at the beast.

"Touch of Fire"

The balde of the sword turned to flames and incinerated the beast.

"What the hell was that? Better yet, how the hell did I do that?"

"A hidden room, this way"

It was Ian voice coming from a door on the other side of the wall.

OOC: Hella, don't proclaim yourself brave in almost every paragraph of your posts. It becomes quite annoying reading " the brave night," "He bravely..." Just say "He stepped through the door, cautiously looking about for lurking enemies."

Azreal:

Azreal still had his sword drawn, watching his left side as Ian watched the right. He shook his head, realizing that Percibel was quite noisey upstairs in the higher levels.

"Didn't we leave him outside to create less noise?" Azreal sent to Ian, chuckling softly as he continued stepping through the room, searching the wall for anything violent to him or Ian.

Azreal frowned, noticing he saw no doorway that could lead them straight to the castle, as that's what he had hoped for when he went for the castle. He looked over his shoulder at Ian, speaking words this time instead of thoughts.

"Perhaps we missed something while we were crossing through the other basement levels." Azreal was worried, he had this sinking feeling that he wasn't going to fine the princess he had helped save on the worst day of his life. And he absolutely wanted a rematch with the Dark Wizard.

Dark Wizard:

The Dark Wizard stood by his mirror, looking into the room which Ian and Azreal had just stepped into to. He smirked, an evil crackle escaping low in his throat. He knew he could send an army to the castle doors and the foolish pests would have no chance of escaping.

He waved his hand, an image of Percibel stepping noisely through the castle appeared in the mirror. He hated pests, but he hated ones that blindly went through obstecles. The Dark Wizard picked up his staff, raising it to the mirror as he whispered a spell.

OOC:
The spell he just cast was a walking fire golem. It's on the top top lvl of the castle, and shall descend the floors destroying any living thing in site. Oh, and this golem isn't a one hit wonder. It shall take team work to destroy.

Until Lata
Chris

"No," Ian answered. "There is something else here. This room is a decoy."

Ian walked past his companions, to the opposite wall from where he entered. Sir Percibal and Azreal watched carefully.

He placed the staff against the wall, and spoke the Words. Another door appeared.

Ian stepped through, into a Room of Power. Every Magi had one, a place where they kept there most powerful artifacts. The center of the room was dominated by a crystal globe, twin to the one Ian had in his small cottage by the river. With it, you could comminicate to magi all over the world, from globe to globe. There were amulets, and other objects of Power in the basement, all lain out with great care. On in particular caught his eye. It was a small cross with a reb crystal in it - a miniature twin to the amulet Azreal wore.

He reached for it, and felt the power come from it as his hand closed around it.

Suddenly the room shook, and part of the ceiling caved in. Ian spun and whispered a shield spell, just as he was hit with a ball of flame. In their midst stood a Fire Golem.

The Golem shot a ball of fire at the Fay, and Ian slammed a shield in place to protect his smallest friend.

"It's a Fire Golem!" he screamed. "Very deadly, and difficult to kill!"

Then there was a blinding flash, and the walls disappeared.

They were no longer inside the castle, but in a world of flame. The heat was oppressive, and sweat began pouring out of Ian.

He deflected another attack by the Golem, and stepped backward. Fire Golems were Daemonspawn, one of the most powerful variety. They might not survive this...

Bobo le Fay:

From the ceiling, the large monster fell into the room. Destroying the room and throwing fire in all directions, the evil creature turns to me. I watch a large sphere of burning air shoot toward me. Inches from me, the fire disperses around an invisible wall. I turn towards Stormwalker and nod a thanks to him.

Using the light amulet that Stormwalker had given me, I attempt to disintigrate the monster. However, the force of my power does not cause the golem to flinch. Instead, he ignores the beam of light and turns away from me.

My chance to shine

Sir Percibal

Sir Percibal thinking of his newly recieved sword, decides to take some action.

"Maybe the saying is true guys. Maybe you have to fight fire with fire. Its worth a try."

I unsheath my sword and let out the cry that I had used only minutes ago to defeat the beast.

"Touch of Fire"

The sword once again turns to flames as it hits the golem. The bloww knock the monster off his feet.

"Quick Bobo, try the amulet again. Ian we're gonna need a spell. We can do this"

Lokken shimmered into existence by Ian, a ball of fire in his hands. He threw it and it collided with the golem. The addled look was gone from his eyes, replaced with a look of cunning and power. "Quickly, Bobo! He shall not be long to recover and become even more enraged!" hissed Lokken, black cloaks billowing backwards from the heat. A long, bejewelled blade he held in his right hand, and it seemed to pulse with a black light.

Azreal frowned, the sudden heat throwing him completely off guard. Along with the appearance of the man in the black robes and the fact that there were important magical artifacts in the room before the Golem had crashed through the room, Azreal had no time to regain before another onslaught was brought forth.

Azreal glanced over to Ian, just now noticing the amulet in his palm. He frowned, wondering where that had come from. He shrugged, turning and charging the beast, his sword glowing slightly along with the amulet around his neck. The amulet in Ian's hand also shone, only slightly less than the one around Azreal's neck.

Azreal swung, the blade of the sword making a clean slice through the monsters abdomen, flames shooting forth as a hand swung around, knocking Azreal back onto the ground. He cursed loudly, standing back up and drawing back to charge again.

"Hold back for a moment," Ian spoke softly before slamming his staff into the ground.

Azreal stood in a ready stance, watchingg what Ian was doing, raising a brow in amazement.

Almost got him

Sir Percibal:

"We almost have him. Quick, all at the same time while he's off guard."

Percibal, Ian, and Azreal each take a stance close to each other and prepare to attack.

"Now, lets do it."

Ian frowned at the Fire Golem, and clenched his fist around the cross amulet. He knew one of it's secrets as soon as he touched it, and would use it's power to do something unheard of in this hellish dimension. The creature had brought them here to increase it's own power, and overwhelm them. Well, it was about to be rudely disabused.

He positioned himself between Percibal and Azreal, held his staff up before him, and stabbed it into the stone ground before him. It slid into the hard stone, like a sword into mud.

He scowled at the creature, and spoke to his friends, his voice like ice, sounding in their heads. "Cover your eyes, and attack when I give the signal."

Ian's eyes glowed white, as he spoke the words, and the slight glow from the talisman flared red in his clenched fist. Below the creature a blinding white vortex appeared. The creature staggered, and looked down in surprise, seeing the impossible. Ice began forming on it's feet, working up it's legs. The creature howled in fear and pain, and tried to engulf the group in flame, but the vortex sucked it in, neutralizing it. The bright light began to dissapate, but the energy remained.

"Now," he snarled, his voice again sounding in their heads. "Take him."

OOC: Everyone be careful what your write doesn't contradict someone else's storyline. I had it happen to me twice. The first time with Percibal falling into the room that I was investigating (I was able to keep my idea going by making a second hidden room beyond the first), and Azreal grabbing the amulet off the ground (even though it was actually in my hand. Again, I had plans for it, and would have given it to Azreal after the scene was over). Both times I was able to do my thing anyway, but it can get kinda irritating. Keep it in mind, please? Thanks in advance.:)

OOC: Sorry about that Paen.. I figured since your char was reaching for the amulet when the Golem came through the roof, you might have dropped it.. But I fixed my post for you.. Peace Bro

OOC: LOL. You didn't have to change it Kenshin. I had already worked around it in my last post. I was only writing about it to call attention to it so it wouldn't happen a lot. I'll redo mine now, though. Thanks.

Sir Percibal:

After the blinding light had gone, Percibal opened his eyes.

"I have to finish this."

He raised his sword up and felt a stronger sence come over him. The sword was telling him something, something different. Then he began to charge at the monster.

"Double Touch of Fire"

Percibal took two swings at the beast with his enflamed sword. This time each hit went deep and straight through the beast. The peices burst into flames; first black, then red, and finally blue until there was nothing left but ashes.

"We've done it. We have defeated the monstrous beast."

Just then two paths were lighted. One deeper into the hellish world and another, the way back to the secret room in the castle.

Percibal turns to Azreal and Ian, who look on in amazement.

"Which way shall we go? Should we go back and find the others and return here with them or should we explore for ourselves? "

Bobo le Fay:

In my mind, my confidence is shattered. As the men yell for me to try again, I can only float here, staring at the beast. Finally the men create a destruction for the monster.

I hear Percibal as he addresses the other men. Before they can answer and determine a course of action, I mutter quietly, "I'm... I'm sorry. I just couldn't... I'm not strong enough. I'm sorry."

OOC:
Sorry guys, I finally got my drive fixed. Had to reformat to put in the 40 gig HD. I should be back online now.

Ian looked at his surroundings. Something was odd, he felt.... slow. Realization hit him

"Time is moving differently here, slower..." He closed his eyes. "I think.... yes... already one half day has passed in our world during the time spent here. We must decide quickly. I can reopen the portal to the castle if we so desire. We take a vote."

In his head, he sent out a message to Azreal. "That amulet you wear is an object of great power, it gives you protection against magic, and amplifies your own use of it. You have a small latent talent, how large is unknown to me." He held out the smaller amulet in his hand to Azreal, who took it. "This belongs to you, I think. Use it well... and if you'd like help in realizing your latent ability, I'd be glad to instruct you. If not, your secret is safe with me."

He turned to Bobo. "And as for you, my smallest friend, you've saved several lives on this journey already, and are as brave a companion as I've ever had. One of these days I'll tell you of the time I froze when confronted by a Altherian Hearth Hound, a fearsome creature, but one whom a Fire Golem would each as an appetizer. If my Master wasn't there, I wouldn't be here."

He turned toward the rest of the group. "I vote we go back. We have friend there whom I'd like to keep with us, and I have to contact Imogen, again. This is not a monarchy, however, and I'll accede to the groups wishes."

Sir Percibal:

Percibal turns towars Ian.

"I think you're right. We should go back. Wedon't know much about the time displacement here and also of what dangers lie waiting ahead."

He turns to the rest of the group

"Who all agrees with Ian?"

There is a short silence.

Bobo le Fay:

Though less than relieved, I am grateful for the kind Stormwalker's words. As if to prove against all cowardice, I cast my vote.

"Were I to lead this team, we should press onward, toward the root of this evil. However, I follow the group wherever the majority chooses."
