Simple Pleasures

Since I have finished my marathon on the 30/30 thread I'm not sure where to post this. I figure here is as good as any, and better than most.


Simple Pleasures


Sometimes life gifts
with simple pleasures
a pleasing scent
on a wisp of air
a smile from someone
you didn't know was there
a word or gesture
embracing, invitation
recognition, acceptance
touch unexpected.

Sometimes life gifts
with simple pleasures
a caress in the dark
or light
a kiss from someone
you weren't sure cared
a conversation
deep
into the night.

Sometimes life gifts
with simple pleasures
a glimpse of breast
a flash of leg
an air of confidence
from someone
you have always admired
a gift
granted by life
as a simple surprise.

There's the All of a sudden passion suddenly, Writing Live and Not Sure How Many Words thread where you're invited to post anything on any subject, of course the suddenly and writing live thread come with the caveat that you aren't supposed to back click or edit a posted poem.

i seem to be undergoing a new writing phase. i am finding it increasingly difficult to write unless it's live writing with almost no editing afterwards. even thinking about what to write pre writing throws me into confusion.

am i getting lazy, as a writer? it's not a case of not wanting to edit, or feel it through, go slowly, it's more a case of it not working full stop unless i do it this way right now.

i guess it's not worth getting overly concerned about; my ways of writing have frequently altered over the years. i just feel maybe it's a bit lazy and ...
