Israeli war plane get shot down and crashes

You may recall that Israel's neighbors all declared war and invaded when the state was declared, and Israel beat the invaders. Then did so again a few more times in later decades. If you lose wars, you lose territory -- is that hard to grok? If you don't want to lose, don't start wars you can't win.

Out of curiosity: Will you be happy when Israel is destroyed, or will only total extermination of Jews satisfy you?

Ah, I see. Strange how I didn't know that the 6-day war was started by Egypt sometime before Israel "preemptively" invaded and snatched the Sinai Peninsula that belonged (arguably) to Egypt.

6-day war, Wiki

Israels greatest danger is indifference. She relies on an annual subsidy of something north of $5billion from the USA (substantially in military aid) plus some $2Billion in philanthropic aid from wealthy Jews.

When memories of the Holocaust recede and that generation dies out, the money will start to dry up. Any economic crisis in the USA will cause funds to be diverted elsewhere. And that is what will threaten Israel's existence more than any external threat.

Shall we forget the US invading nations that never attacked the US? Naw, that's whataboutism. Instead I'll ask: When Israel is destroyed, will life improve in neighboring states?

You're asking if the people who hate Jews with a burning passion and want them to be wiped off the face of the earth will be happy when it happens.

Shall we forget the US invading nations that never attacked the US?

This has nothing to do with the ever expanding nation of Israel. It's an evasion to avoid recognizing the truth.

Which is exactly what I said. No whataboutism. NOTE: Israel hasn't expanded for quite a while. Not like Russia in Ukraine.

Let me expand my subsequent question: When Israel is destroyed, will the neighboring tyrannies become liberal democracies, or will they have to find other scapegoats to blame for their atrocious treatment of their subjects?

The existence of Israel is very useful to the swine running Egypt, Syria, Iran, Saudia, etc. Massive repression of their peoples, but, "Look, Jews!" Tell me, with a straight face, that you'd rather be a Saudi than an Israeli woman. Tell me that Israeli dissidents suffer more than Arab dissidents. Tell me you'd rather live in Cairo than Tel Aviv. Go ahead, I'm listening. [/me waits]

A Jew, an Israeli and a Zionist walk into a bar, and the bartender says, "drinking alone tonight?"

All the same, are they?

They're also the only country whose people don't go around the world blowing up people and buildings. But hey, go peaceful muslims, right?

I love the hypocrisy of the liberals of this board. Yay Muslims! Fuck the Jews! But hey, the US is full of Nazis, but hey, fuck the Jews!

You're joking right?

You can be against Israeli aggression without being an anti-semite or anti-jew in any way.

There's no hypocrisy there. In fact, it's good politics and good foreign policy to hold Israel accountable for it's acts of aggression towards it's neighbors.

You're just not very informed, and not very intelligent. That's why your beliefs are what they are.

Some realities:

Quite a few Israelis are Arabs.
Quite a few Israeli Jews are not Zionists.
Quite a few Palestinians are Christians, but purged by Islamists.
All of Israel's neighbors have pledged to destroy Israel, have invaded, have failed.
All of Israel's neighbors are tyrannies oppressing their own peoples.
None of Israel's neighbors have substantially aided Palestinians.
None of Israel's neighbors hold open elections.

Who are the aggressors?

Palestine holds open elections, so your list is flawed.

Plenty of Israel's neighbors have never "invaded" Israel. However, Israel HAS engaged in plenty of aggression of it's own. It wasn't attacked by Syria or Iraq recently, however it DID bomb a bunch of Syrian and Iraqi targets. Those are preemptive strikes... hardly defensive in posture.

Illegal settlements in violation of international law, bulldozing innocent civilian's houses, police state and checkpoints, numerous violation of international law... these are all verifiable things that the state of Israel has engaged in.

So basically: two wrongs don't make a right.

Trump, ironically, might hasten the demise of Israel. Trump's election has exposed the "Christian right" for what they are: people desiring a return to the White Patriarchy as opposed to Christians spreading the Gospel.

It might not mean much now, but young folks see these "Mulligan Christians" in positions of power and choose not to embrace evangelism. Fewer Evangelicals=Less blind support of Israel.

Israel got a wake up call last week. They'd grown complacent. Got used to violating another country's airspace with impunity and are therefore shocked...SHOCKED.... when one of their multi-million dollar jets is shot out of the sky in foreign airspace. A grim reminder that actions can and usually do have consequences.

Evangelicals WANT the end of the world. They would love to have nuclear war, because they believe it's their reckoning, and that they are in the "end times", and they believe that Israel holds the key to their bullshit rapture.

THAT'S what faith does. It makes you blind to the dangers that you are creating.

Agreed. With fewer "End Times" Christians joining the fold as a result of their elders enabling Trump's malfeasance, their movement is unsustainable.

Dude the end times folks have been around since the day after Jesus went to Heaven. They aren't going anywhere.

Their grasp on political power is tenuous, though, it ebbs and flows with the sheer number of votes they produce.

And I believe we reached "Peak Zealot" in 2016.

It was big when W was in office but turned into a weird thing with Obama that wasn't quite the same but close enough I guess. It'll come back next time we vote in either another W or another Obama. Both cause them to get their panties in a bunch.

I tried to work my way through this but couldn't.

You admit that Israel has expanded beyond its original charter, yet instantly deflect to Russia as if that's some sort of excuse for Israel's behavior.

Strange. I always thought that anyone snatching someone else's candy was a bad thing no matter who it was. Apparently you think it's ok for Israel to do that because... RUSSIA!

The rest just goes off the rails so far I can't even hear the crash when it hits the bottom of the cliff.
