Jamesbjohnson Is In The Building...

From what I've seen thus far, he is not here to find anything except people he can annoy and to bask in their annoyance. He's here to instigate, not participate, and the best course of action might be to dust him off like dandruff.
*waves* sorry, calli, i missed your post.

he has tried annoying me plenty of times. doesn't matter what i think of his character, or his opinion of mine - i'm interested to see if he can write and has any ability as a reader. i am almost definitely a better reader than writer; since i've been involved with poetry forums people has expressed their pleasure at how i see what's gone into making their writes, from the imagery to sound, allusion to layering. it's just a thing i can do and do well, (most the time :p) and it's a bit like following a stream back to its source/breadcrumbs on a trail/fill in your own dire cliché :D

so, i've been trying to get an honest opinion based on anything instead of this god-stance. jeez, anyone can carve a few stones

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Frost contemplates death here. Its a first rate poem. All agree with me.

frost is always good reading. that's not to say all who read him understand what he alludes to, or can see anything beyond the end-rhymes - his metaphors and layering lost to them. i'm certain as i can be (the man was not an imbecile) that his poetic stones would be way whirlier if the readers could unravel all he put into making it.

Yes, but why? :)

I can see you're trying to discover if he actually has anything to offer, but he just keeps showing that he doesn't. It just looks to me like following these breadcrumbs will lead to an empty paper sack. There might have been something good in there once, but I think the pigeons got to it.

the smartarse answer is that i enjoy seeing jbj type in a semi-polite manner rather different from his usual geebee gobbyness; it must be a killer to keep it up.

the real answer? he posted that poetry was his first love, but it was buried a long time ago (words to that effect); how would our own natures suffer if we suffocated this need, this natural thing in us? maybe he'd be a happier, more emotionally fulfilled person if he just engaged with writing his poetry again. i like seeing people happy. *shrugs*

Ahhh... well, that last bit tells me everything I need to know.

I like seeing people happy too, so I completely understand the impulse and your continued good will. It's a valiant effort on you part, for sure. He seems pretty entrenched in his own nonsense.

If I read your poems I might despair, its possible.

C.I.P. 'Nuff said..

P.S. JBJ quotes well which means he must read poetry to know it's existence.

Have any of you tried selling your poems to the Sunday puzzle page of the paper?

My first poem for money back in 1970.

Save for the feelings from our touch and glances
And their unconscious, unspoken revelations
A dark silence without end I do fear
If your eyes and body weren't so something sun like.

And this is better how?
without context it is what's your phrase
schizophrenic word salad?

All please read this.

Trolls feed on response. Do not feed the trolls. It makes them persistent.

Its how we keep score. Plastic trophies are for niggers and girls.

if you truly believe something that sells is automatically 'good', you must be blown away by Hannah Montana.

good poetry doesn't require plastic trophies or cash to still be good. art is art.

you've shown your standards depend upon mass appeal and money. i don't consider that makes your opinion on anyone's writing here of any value.

finit

One more time, BUTTERS....what we believe is irrelevant, which of us is right is relevant. I raise the best fruits and veggies on Earth, and I cant give them away, because folks wanna pay for crap.

All your bullshit fertilizing them doesn't qualify your crops as "organic".

And all the restraining orders filed against you may have something to do with it.
