Jango Fett walked down the ramp of Slave 1, after landing and powering down his starship Slave 1 in the Tatooine hangar. Wearing his traditional Mandolorian Armor with Jet Pack, rockets, sidearms and laser rifle in hand. It was evident he was not there for a pleasure cruise of any sort. Behind him, on a hovercart was a large crate that was covered up with a brown tarp of some kind. It hovered slowly after Jango. As the cart left the ramp of the Slave 1, he paused long enough to watch it retract into itself and power up self defense systems. Anyone even attempting to get anywhere near the ship without his approval would find themselves in a world of hurt.

As he walked across the hangar floor, he was met by a cloaked man wearing a beard and carrying a staff. He said, "Jango Fett?"

The bounty hunter simply responsed with a nod. He had learned early that the most powerful images given are often the smallest ones. He shifted his rifle from both hands to up on his upper arm. He reached into his cloak and revealed a small controller and said, "You get it... when you give me her location."

The man looked at the controller and then the hovercart and licked his lips and said, "Okay... okay. She is at Bestine. A place called the Shady Droid. She works as a barkeep there. Now give it to me..."

Jango studied him for a long moment, watching for any sign of lying and he finally realized that he seemed to be telling the truth. He tossed the controller into his contact's hand and said, "If you are lying, I will make you my next bounty..."

The man took the controller and nodded nervously at Jango before walking to the cart and lifting the tarp up. Fifteen 55 gallon drums of water were stacked neatly in a pile on the cart. On Tatooine, water was one of the most expensive commodities one could have and this cart would provide him more than a generous amount of income later on when he sold it to the local crop farmers...

He turned and looked at Jango and said, "Good luck..." He walked away and the hovercart followed him.

Jango waited on his informant was gone before he turned around and lowered the ramp to Slave 1. He was not concerned at all. He had planted two tracking devices into both the cart and the controller to ensure that, at least for the short term, he would be able to come back and recover his goods if he had too.

SHADY DROID

Rya Kano, was on her break at the Shady Droid as she sat in a booth near the back of the crowded bar. She had some news to share with a 'friend', whom she was waiting for at that point, but by the looks of the time, he wasn't going to show up.

She lit a cig and sat back against the booth. It was all fine with her since perhaps she could get a better deal from someone else anyway. One of the house waitresses brought her a drink, a warm Blue Milk, Rya thanked her and watched her walk away, particularly watching her ass. Smiling to herself, Rya took a long sip of her drink, polishing it off in no time.

SInce her shift was up, she bade goodbye to the current barkeep and headed out into the cold night. Even though the Droid was busy and crowded, outside the bar was dead. In fact, it seemed the whole town was probably at the Droid, which wasn't a surprise since it was one of the better bars around.

Just as she was halfway back to her rented place, Rya sensed something. She stopped in her tracks and stood in one place but she didn't turn her head to look around. She felt with her mind and tried to sense what was amiss.

Jango stood on the roof of the Droid watching her, leaping from building to building in the stealthiest means possible. She had not noticed him at first. He was waiting for a moment in which he could bring her down. He had been given this bounty by a warrior known as Cyianic, who lived on the planet Durrell, some 12 parsecs away. He had demanded she be brought back alive and fit for interrogating.

This was an added complication, bringing her in alive. Normally, it was something as simple as kill her, through her in a deep freeze till he got back to the payoff and then walk away. Keeping her alive meant he had to feed her, water her, and give her toiletry needs for the entire trip back, which was just one big pain in the ass.

He watched her stop suddenly. Was she onto him? Did she somehow suspect him? He had been so careful... It was now or never. He brought is rifle up which was loaded with specialized darts he used from incapacitating his bounties. Aimed it for the square of her shoulders and fired!

Rya thought she moved out of the way of the dart just in time but she felt the stinging cut as the dart grazed her shoulder. She pressed herself against a speeder hovering on the road and cursed silently to herself. She had gotten clumbsy and careless about watching her back.

She yanked out her personal blaster from inside her top coat. Rya blinked as things around her got a little fuzzy, thanks to the dart still able to graze her skiin. She shook her head and tried to focus and it did some good for now.

Then out of the corner of her eye, she saw something moved. Hurriedly she turned in that direction but it was too late, she felt another sting of a dart head hit her thigh, with a grunt, she looked down in disbelief and dropped her blaster. She had just about removed it the dart when she looked up and saw someone come toward her. It was between consciousness and blacking out that she was able to ID him.....Jango Fett.

Shit! They had found her! But before she could dwell on it more she passed out fully as the drug took it's full effect.

Jango knew the first dart had not taken full effect. She had nearly side stepped it entirely. He had seen only one other kind of person move as fast as she had and that had been the jedi. Was she some kind of jedi? Her file never even hinted at her being anything other than a waitress... though her files were quite incomplete prior to her last job.

He flew down as he noted a couple of locals walking towards her. He said, "Step aside. Bounty Hunter business." He took out a small case that he carried with him and as she laid on her back, he pulled out four silver grav disks and put them on her back. He also pulled out a thick set and Mandolorian restraints and snapped them onto her wrists behind her back. He also pulled out a rope and wrapped her legs together tightly as well. Finally, he pulled out a blanket from his emergency gear in his pack and as he rolled her to her back, pressed the gravdisks so she began to levitate about four feet off the ground, he covered her up with the blanket.

He walked her effortlessly back to Slave I without incident and put her into a small holding cell in the back of his ship. He took the disks off but left her in her restraints before he headed to the cockpit and fired up the ship.

Unfortunately, his meeting point was to be in the Delorian Asteroid fields. When he reached orbit, he left Tattooine space... and launched into hyperspace. He did not know however, that while he was gone, a visitor had come near his ship and despite all the Slave I defenses set up, managed to set up a tracking device on the ship...

A slow rolling effect deep in her stomach woke Rya with a start! The after effects of the drug from the dart was hard on her system. It was bad enough when one dart hit you but when a second came into the equation, then well, the results usually weren't pretty.

She gathered her hands were binded behind her but she sat up anyway as she dry heaved a few times. Rya wasn't sure how long she had been out but apparently was long enough to be placed in a cell and end up in space on their way to some where.

Rya knew of several people that wanted her head on a platter and deep down, she was glad it was Jango Fett that got to her first instead of some assassin droid.

The cell Rya found herself in was actually quite bigger than what she would've thought. Although not by much, there was still barely enough room for her to stand her full height, if she could stand had she not been tied up securely.

"Hey!!" She called out as she crawled closer to the wall and started to kick it hard, "Hey you shit!! Get your ass down here!!"

Jango smiled to himself as he heard her try to bate him. She was no different from all the others he had captured. The ones of any worth in this miserable universe. They were all the same. THey would curse and swear, try and show they had bigger balls than him, perhaps beg and plead, attempt to bribe, hell he had even had one older man offer to give him both his daughters for his own freedom. It was those kinds of bounties he hated the most and enjoyed turning in. The kind without any scruples at all and would sell their soul for their freedom.

He listened to her for 20 minutes attempted to bate him out of the cockpit and finally, for the sake of getting her to shut up, he picked up his dart gun, climbed out of the cockpit headed down into the cargohold, turned to the cell that she was sitting in and turned and levelled his dart gun at her from a safe distance and said, "You have two choices... shut up... or sleep. Makes no difference to me..."

He noted something intense about her though. Something that he had not seen before. He knew the moment he let his eyes really set on hers, that she was not a monster that his payers claimed her to be. She was a good person. But, that did not make any difference to him... a bounty was a bounty...

Rya eyed him. Well, eyed him as best she could with his mask on. She smiled at him after a full minute, her smile softening her delicate features, "Why Jango Fett, I am honored that you were the one hired to come get me. It means a great deal to know that I've moved up in the galaxy as far as bounties go."

She stretched and tried her best to read his reaction but there was none. He was more stubborn than she thought. Rya was literally looking down the barrel of the dart gun and shrugged, "Go ahead and shoot. Matters not to me. But first, I have a quick question, who hired you?"

He studied her for a long time and said, "First rule of bounty hunting, don't get familiar with the bounty. They only get you dead."

He heard her claim about to go ahead and shoot her and finally made the decision. He raised up the weapon, prepared to fire....

... and all hell breaks loose from the cockpit. Proximity warnings... a sudden deceleration out of hyperspeed... engineering warning lights! It sounded like war going on!!!

He quickly turned, darted back into the cockpit and began to assess the situation. First, the hyperspace engine failed. It looked like the primary reactor coil finally kicked the bucket on him! The next thing that happened was when the dropped out of hyperspeed, it was almost inside a path of an asteroid. It clipped the right guidance wing. He glanced out his port window and found the wing hanging on by a few cables! He was loosing control of his ship!

He began to hunt francitically. He had to find a place to land this ship and in a hurry. The nearest planet, to his fortune, was only 20 minutes away and quickly diverted his path. He spent the next twenty minutes ignoring the yelling of the bounty, keeping his craft flying stable, and finally, reaching the upper atmosphere of the planet.

He read the identity of the planet and cursed to himself. Levesoor. It was considered by the Republic to be one of the exclusive hunting planets in the sector. There were four colonies built into the planet sanctuary, the first being on a tropical continent called Erodoe. The next was the safari continent of Nilknow. It was this continet that it looked very much like he would forced to land on.

He had been hunting on this continent before. Nothing but safari and grasslands the entire way, with several rivers criss crossing the continent and a huge mountain range which ran North and South of the place. He knew the colony of New Edmont well. He knew they would have the parts he needed to repair his ship!

He quickly turned the vessel towards the continent looking for a place to land. He thought he almost had it... till his right stabalizer wing sheered off. He cursed again as the smooth landing he was planning started turning into a death spiral! He managed to pull it out at the last second and found a patch of Earth that seemed to look soft enough to survive on...

Jango re-engaged the thrusters at the last second... and was able to regain control of his vessel just a few hundred feet from the planet surface!!!

The ship's landing gear hit the ground a little harder than expected... but when if finally settled, Jango muttered to himself... well... any landing is a good landing...

"Hey!! Hey! I'm not finished with you!!!" Rya screamed when the ship seemed to lose control and Jango turned suddenly, leaving her alone.

It seemed like forever before the ship was finally under control and it was during that time that Rya figured she would stop screaming since it wasn't doing any good for anyone.

Just when things were some what calm and the ship started to spin and with doing that, it threw Rya around in her holding cell, she had just enough time to grab onto the bar of the cell so she could at least stop herself from being thrown around. Her head was knocked around a few times but she kept her senses and managed not to pass out from it.

Quickly she opened herself up and felt around to see what was happening since she was in position to ask....she felt that Jango was trying to keep calm but she sensed an urgency about him. He was good, even in a time of distress, his mind was strong and remained focus on the situation of landing the ship. So while still hanging on, she needed to help out because she didn't want to die, not that death was inevitable.

Rya's eyes closed and with all that she could, she pushed with her mind and 'assisted' with the rear stabilizer! And little did she knew it was just in time because when they engaged, the ship seemed to hit a wall and she lost grip. So as the ship landed, she felt her head crack on one of the bars and her vision went a little fuzzy. Rya tried to stay awake but she was soon enveloped in darkness......

Jango paid no heed to the prisoner in the cell at first. He managed to get out of the cockpit and climb down to the escape hatch and onto the ground. He began to look around the ship, examining it, checking the landing trail and the sky for whoever hit him. He saw nothing for a long while and then tapped on a diagnostic droid who slid out of the compartment and began to run scans on the vessel. It was going to take a while, so he turned his attention to the other details in the possession.

He walked up into the cargo hold and checked the cell Rya was laying in. He picked up a scanner and ran her vitals. She was okay... only knocked out and cut up a bit. He activated the first aide droid and it slide to the cage and began to make first aid patches on her.

He then headed back outside to work on his ship... he was afraid he would have a long trek ahead of him when the droid came back with it's report...

Rya woke with a huge pain on the side of her head and a medical droid hovering near her. She reached up and pushed him away but he hovered back to finish his repair of the cut on the side of her head.

"Would you stop!" She exclaimed and pushed him away. The MD understood and just hovered away as she tried to stand up. It was then Rya noticed that the bindings that had her hands behind her back were gone. But the bars to the holding cell were another story. Although it was open enough for the small MD to fit through, there was no way for Rya to fit through.

She calmed herself and just sat there as she closed her eyes and tried to feel around her, both inside and outside of the ship. Her voice was too hoarse to scream or yell but she had a feeling that Jango was still alive and if she knew him like any other pilot, he was probably trying to fix his ship.

For 45 minutes, Jango waited on that report and when he got it... he was less than pleased. It would take a right wing stabilizer and a primary reactor coil to get his ship up and running again. The nearest town was at least 3 days walk from there. He cursed his luck and then tore off his helmet and scanned the sky once more. He then said, "This thing ain't going to fix itself. He spent nearly 3 hours covering his ship with mud, long cane leaves, and bushy Mikt Trees for concealment and camoflage.

Once done he went back into the ship and the cargo bay where his bounty had long since lad down and taken a rest. He opened the cage as she slept and fastened a metal collar onto her neck, turning it on with his remote access connection on his gauntlet. The device had been a little toy he had picked up on Gyria VII, when he returned F'dit to his people for 250,000 Federation Credits. The collar was completely electronic, magnetically seal with tamper mechanisms. If it was tampered with at all, it would inject a neural toxin which would induce to brain into firing off all the pain sensors. If it actually did get opened up, it would detonate on a 3 second delay.

It they kept the device on, she would be tracked, monitored, and ensured her health was maintained. Plus, he had the ability to remotely activate it to become a navigational tool of it's own. He stepped back and activated it. The collar instantly lit up and rose up to about 4 foot, forcing her to her feet. He pressed a button and watched her being forced towards him. He said, "We have a walk to make. Keep quiet and let's go. He rigged it for the collar ot not go more than 10 feet from him at any time.

Rya so wanted to kick him. Just for being an ass. As she knew his reputation was one for never fooling around. He refused to be baited. So she waited patiently.

About 2 hours passed with Rya not saying a thing. But suddenly she spoke up. He wouldn't do anything to her, but the collar around her neck was bugging her a lot.

"So, how much is the reward anyway? For bringing me in." She wasn't going to attempt to bribe him, she was just really curious. "Come on, tell me."

He didn't say a thing. "You can tell me you know, I think it's a right as a bounty that's caught to at least get all the info. OH! That reminds me, who called for the bounty? I betcha I can take a guess since I know I"m wanted in a lot of terroritories...." Rya kept talking and she knew she was about to get on his nerve. She could sense it.

Jango let her yabber on about her bounty, who wanted her, and dozens of other things as they walked through that afternoon and into the evening. It was when they found a grove of trees littered with prickly thorn berries did he finally stop and settle in for the night. He slid off his pack, and set it aside, never letting it out of reach of his hands.

He had put a freeze command on her collar, forcing her to either sit on her bum or her knees a yard from the fire and far away from any weapons. Big surprise when she chose her ass. He could tell she was full or spirit and fight and to be on her knees in front of anyone was just unacceptable to her.

He walked out and was gone for a half hour. When he returned, he had two creatures that looked like jackolopes hanging from his shoulder as well as a helmet full of berries that he dumped onto his cloak. In a few minutes after that... dinner was starting to smell very good...

Bulking at the sight of the dead rodents on his shoulder, Rya tried not to show her disgust as Jango cooked them up. But the berries were a sight for sore eyes and when he put some of the berries on a giant leaf and put it in front of her.

"Oh why thank you so much!" She said with much sarcasm in her voice as she could muster. She picked at some of the berries and though she was starving she took her time nibbling on them, very aware of him watching her.

He had literally thrown her a piece of what ever it was he was cooking and with out even thinking, Rya stopped it from hitting with ground. But she didn't stop it with her hands, she stopped it with the force.

It was then she realized her mistake and quickly let it fall after releasing it. She grabbed a few berries and shoved them in her mouth, looking away from him.

Jango had seen it. Nothing escaped his eyes. He literally seemed to freeze in time and stare at her for the longest time. She knew how to use the force! This could get dangerous quickly! He pulled his weapon, jumped to his feet and stepped back! He said, "Who the fuck are you?!?!?"

His bouty dealer never told him the bounty was jedi! What was a jedi doing all the way out on Tatooine? Why was there such a price on her head! He realized he had to up his game huge! She could manipulate the force which meant she could do all kinds of things.... but wait... not all people who could use the force where jedi... right?

He levelled his weapon at her and said, "Answer me! Who are you and are you a jedi?!?!"

"Well, I would but wasn't it you who said 'First rule of bounty hunting, don't get familiar with the bounty. They only get you dead.'" Rya repeated, trying to imitate him as best she could. When she saw him raise his weapon at her again, she jumped up to a standing position as she kept her eyes on him, "Wait, I'm sorry! Listen, obviously whomever it was that hired you didn't give you all the information! As much as I want to explain, all I'll say is that, I'm a Jedi, but not officially."

She sat back down carefully and sighed as she released the collar around her neck, which didn't go off like Jango had programmed it too. Instead, it just unlocked and Rya kept it around her neck before snapping it closed again with her mind. "Look, I'm not going to do anything to hurt anyone, all right? I've never hurt a soul and I don't plan too. Yes I'm wanted but the men , or should I say person, that wants me doesn't want me, persay, they want what I know." She was hoping that was all he need for now.

Jango had learned one thing in his dealings with the Jedi. Never trust them! He had dealt with a young apprentice jedi once ... Mace Wondu or something at one point which did not turn out well for either of them. Mace had lied to him about a bounty, only to draw Jango into a trap to be captured. It had only been by the skin of his teeth had he survived that encounter.

He kept his weapon level for the longest time staring at her. She seemed... harmless. But she could do those things with the Force that scared him deep down. How was it possible to manipulate object with nothing but the mind. It was magic and that was all there was to it.

He slowly lowered his weapon a bit and finally realized it was getting quite foolish looking for both of them to just stand there glaring at each other. He finally came too and said, "Okay. I'll bite. What do you know?"

"Well, I'm not sure if I say anything unless it's to help my cause with letting me go?"

Dead silence.

"Yeah, it was worth a try." Rya was sitting on the ground, her legs crossed in front of her and the fire light the only thing in vast darkness of the planet they were on. "Well, a while back, I found out that a group of pirates had gotten their hands on some Holocrons. And well, I stole it from them so I could return it back to the Jedi archives before they find them."

And it was a mission where she would die to make sure it got done.

Jango shifted his head and said, "You have Jedi Holocrons? I ... didn't know they existed. They were just stuff of legends." In his mind, money signs suddenly appeared. If the Jedi wanted them so badly, they why not simply take them from her? It was certainly easy enough too... or so he thought.

He was just about to say something when the sound of a ship rocketed through the sky! He quickly stamped out the fire to be safe and then waited.... he knew the ship design well. it was Trade Federation interceptor class fighter ship.

Jango was not what it meant... but it was not good. He looked at her and said, "Stay put. He turned and watched as the ship landed several hundred meters away...

Rya didn't like what she could feel from him when she mentioned the holocrons. Sure they were a valuable item because most could use them in ways they were not meant to be used. It was a very sacred thing, the holocrons.

Before she could delve further into it, a ship passed over them.

"Stay put."

"Wait!" Rya tried to follow him but something beeped on her collar and forced her back, making her yelp in surprise. Sure she could've removed it but something in her told her not to.

In her bones she could tell this was trouble. One didn't have to be in tune with the force to feel this....

For the longest time, Jango simply sat in wait. He knew it was another bounty hunter known as Tarr Montok, a particularly nasty Neimoidian who had some of the best technology money could by to use for his bounty hunting purposes. Unlike his other fellow Neimoidians, he did not have a particular loyalty to the Trade Federation short of what he could earn off their credits.

The bounty hunter scanned the area and spotted his query! She was standing out in the open near a dying fire. He then scanned all around and saw no other life anywhere. He found that odd knowing she had been picked up by the bounty hunter Jango and so he knew he was around here somewhere. He threw out a dozen flairs from the ejector all around the ship, illuminating the entire area and getting rid of the cloak of darkness that had enveloped them all. He said, "Where are you Jango...? I know you are there..."

Jango was in fact there... hidden low in the brush, camoflaged into the grasses and lying in wait. Ready to kill whoever stepped out of the ramp.

As the light of the flairs temporarily blinded her, Rya couldn't see where Jango disappeared to either. But she could sense he was still around some where....

She did recognize the other bounty hunter's voice though. He had tried to catch Rya once and almost succeeded but at that time, she had help in escaping his trap. Now he was here.

There was no way for her to move, nor was there any place she could run to as the flairs would keep the area lighted for several minutes. But before she could think about it anymore, she saw a small glowing dot on her chest....the other bounty hunter had her in his sites!!

"Hold it there, Rya. There is no escape for you this time!" A bounty hunter said as he inched towards her, extremely aware that Jango was nearby. He said, "You thought you were able to get past me did you?"

As he moved closer, he said, "Come here! Come to me... now!"

The reaction was instanteous and sudden. A metal ball with a green glowing light on one side seemed to fly into the air landing directly in front of him! He glanced down, looked up at her and she was the last thing he ever saw as the device exploded into a energy burst disintegrating anything within 6 feet of the device!

Jango appeared out of the darkness, weapon leveled at her as he inched toward the device on the ground, then picked it up and disabled it. He looked at her and said, "You okay?"

She gave a nod and then he turned and headed back to the ship of the bounty hunter, climbed up into it a moment... then walked with a thick blue bag filled with something heavy. He walked towards her and then tossed it in front of her. It opened to reveal some ration packs, water tablets and a cache of credits in it.

The bounty hunter craft then unexpectedly seemed to lift off on it's own, the ramp closing shut and then the vehicle turned and headed up into space. Jango said, "Overrode the droid. It is going up into orbit and cloaking till I come back for it."

He then said, "Pick that up. We are moving now..." He turned and began to walk towards town once more
