Hey, the evangelicals are fine with "A whole civilization will die tonight!" from Orange Julius Caesar. Why should they mind a little iconoclasm in the Middle East?
Especially since they think the state of Israel is a harbinger of End Times and will be destroyed anyway when Jesus comes back.
Wouldn't it be funny if it wasn't Jesus? I mean, if the Jews were right and Jesus wasn't really the nessiah and all that stuff in the New Testament was just blasphemy and the true Messiah tells them so . . .

Israel soldiers raped prisoners and when they were being arrested, Israeli's protested in support of IDF soldiers rights to rape.
The IDF has a 'fun' shooting game where they target certain limbs or body parts while slaughtering Palestinians.
IDF soldiers tortured a toddler with cigarettes, confirmed by multiple doctors. (Of course, IDF denies it. Saying burns are from the warning shots)

Iconoclasm - the destruction of religious images and statues has a long tradition within the various Christian denominations. Considering the unarguable fact that Christianity originated as a Jewish heresy, the punishment of these soldiers is clearly to satisfy current political optics. I hope that they are released promptly.
