I was actually shocked at how much Kimmel has improved as a talk show host / emcee since I first watched him maaaaany years ago.

I would say the health challenges his child has had since birth have changed Jimmy Kimmel a whole lot. It was like a light bulb went off, and Jimmy finally realized what life was / is all about. That was reflected in his performances, imho. He seemed more real / genuine.

Jimmy also understood the importance of health insurance and had a newfound respect for the ACA and those who fight to expand affordable health coverage that actually covers healthcare.costs.
