Just one Line.

For half a second, I thought, ‘We’re going to walk out of this park buck-ass naked,’ but then her soft, warm tits filled my hand, and I couldn’t have cared less about public indecency. The legal repercussions of it, anyways; I found myself quite invested in public indecency as a practice.

From my longstanding WIP

Her pussy acted as a natural lubricant. A lubri-cunt, Katie internally joked, as Daniel entered her once more.

"You ever wonder if you'll know?" Jericho stared at the glass of whiskey clasped between his large scarred hands.
"Know what?" Nicole knocked back the contents of her own glass.
"Who it'll be. That one day you're going to look someone in the eye and know this is the mother fucker who's going to kill me."

"Nah, I get it… you thought that women aren’t that great and wanted to switch sides. Have some nice, hot, eager dick-almost touching the other-dick action."

Not mine, but a pretty good sentence to open a story with.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.”

I'm trying something different.

“Oh, yes. It's not a particularly large section but we still get the occasional student who needs access to the Malleus or the Codex Gigas... so we keep them here. They don't get much use.”

I'm trying my hand at gothic horror with some tongue in cheek references to the master. Without giving too much away.
Just remember you need

1-One relative who died mysteriously
2-The younger relative discovering something in the dead guys notes/journal or PC and investigates
3-Name your book
4-Name your Old one /elder god
5-They die insane after seeing something so 'other' that it can't even be described.

There, you now have your HPL formula.

I paid a quick tribute to an HPL inspired 'dark tome' in my horror novel Hand of Fate

"Oh, look," Lydia picked up an old worm eaten tome from one the piles around the couch. "The book of Eibon, and it has a coffee stain on it. Have you no respect for anything?"

From my Amorous Goods entry, Carter's Key, which ties together Randolph Carter from H. P. Lovecraft's Dream Cycle into the Amorous Goods canon:

"Yes, Carter and Lovecraft were contemporaries. And Lovecraft, as was his wont. wrote too much on things he understood too little."

I've broken some of these rules, but I do have two more invented books:

So now I hunted. I dug into the Book of Lachesis and braved the nonsense of the Liber Noctae, searching for what few scraps of truth it might contain.

and which of my stories would be complete without nonsense like

And... and now she'd be like me - cursed to forever walk this long, dreary twilight while all she loved crumbled to dust between her fingers.

More from Carter's Key, which will hopefully go up in the next few days.

A sound like the rasping of leaves against a window filled my ears, reminding me of the times as a child when I pulled the blankets over my head during a storm. Then came a bellowing cry of something primal and monstrous, and I understood why I had hidden.
