I've worn glasses since third grade, probably should have had them before then. A few years ago I went from regular glasses to bifocals to trifocals in less than a year. Sure made me feel older in a hurry.

I can't even cope with the wearing of the progressive bifocals, like if I look wrong, I see wrong. I do not like that.

I was in high school when they were prescribed, but I probably needed them long before then. My maiden name is near the end of the alphabet, so I always sat in back rows. I just thought everyone in the back row struggled to read the blackboard. I could but a lot of squinting and such. I had managed to pass vision screens in the same way. I just thought that is how everyone's vision screens were, really hard. In high school, we had lecture halls, which were even worse because no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't read the board in the bigger classroom, but again, I assumed that is just back row life. Then during the first vision screen in the high school, the nurse recommended I see someone because she thought it was possible I might need glasses given what she observed of me during the test. My mom had our doctor test during a yearly physical because she though the nurse was just silly, and he agreed I might need glasses. Oh, she was so pissed at me because now she was sure I was faking the struggle in order to get glasses or something because I can clearly see fine in normal life. She took me and they were prescribed because damn, when they flip things the chart did get clearer, wow. She still did not believe I wasn't faking it and was not please with the cost, even offered to buy me several pairs of fashion glasses, except I did not want glasses. I was a preteen girl, glasses were cruel haha. I only ever wore them for something important on the blackboard that I couldn't make out, put them on for a second, took them off. Then four years later, I failed my vision test at the DMV without them put passed when I put them on so my license said lenses required. I was too vain to accept I would have to wear glasses like every day when I drove. I made myself an eye appointment and got contacts. The old type of lenses. She watched me struggle and struggle with them every morning and every night just so I could avoid wearing glasses around people. Finally she believed I wasn't faking because I struggled so much with getting them in and taking them out. My prescription never change until now with the adding of close up.

Seriously though, bifocals are just so annoying, I can't even imagine trifocals.

I will say he was like pushing 70 so it wasn't as bad as if it was a young optometrist but still. This is why I pick women doctors lol. Though, I think I will keep this place. It is a father son operation. My dentist is like that too. In both of them, the dads now just come in when really busy, like he was working the end of December because many people were wanting appointments before their benefits expired.

Anyway so dilated eyes , new prescriptions, been called old for an hour, time to leave. The eye place is like half a block from a grocery store that I have never been too, and I need peppers and reading glasses. In the store, I end up engaged with another customer, and she is just looking at me oddly, being overly friendly and speaking rather slowly. Weird but whatever. Later, The cashier comments that she should make an eye appointment too, and get some readers as well. Clearly the reading glasses made her think of an eye appointment. I get home, go to the bathroom, and fuck, that is why the one lady was so weird, I look high as shit. And that was my night as an elderly drug addict.

I ordered a pair of bifocals, progressives, and regular glasses from zenni. I probably need to order more regular glasses because, as turns out, I hate the bifocals, and I dislike the progressives, so I am still doing the same thing I was, taking my glasses off when I read, and then I forget them in random places and don't really notice until I go to watch tv or drive.

Anyway, that is something new in my life that you all did not need to know, but it is my thread and I will do what I want. You might have noticed my glasses yesterday were slightly different. That is why. I misplaced the other pair last week. I assume they will turn up eventually.

thanks. yeah, one day I am an elderly drug addict, just three weeks later I am on the side of the road after being boned. Actually, when worded like that, it doesn't sound unpredictable.
