Justice League: Next (OOC)

We'll see what "The_Jeffinator" comes up with, I'm sure he'll be for the idea!

I'll have to work on a character sheet after work tomorrow or so. But yeah. I'd definitely like to start writing for this come this weekend -- *nuuuuudge* -- so let's make it happen...Cap'n...right??? ;)

Anyhow, off to bed for early work tomorrow. Talk to you guys later!

I work today and then I'm off for the weekend, so I would definitely love to get this rolling tonight after work. That's fine if Creo wants to use Spider-Gwen :).

And while scrapping the DC theme is a possibility, we do need a main universe where the wormhole originates, and it seems DC is the best place to do that. Alternatively, Peter and Gwen can be rewritten to be DC characters so we dont have to cross universes. Alice, I know you said you're not a fan of crossovers, while Merc is really excited by the idea and Lachi and Creo want to play out-of-universe characters, so I think our first and biggest obstacle is to come up with a theme we can all agree on and get excited about.

My original theme when I first posted this thread won't really work since we're not all playing heroes, but "forced to work together to get home" seems like a good way to go. So I guess the first question to ask is this -- are Peter and Gwen from the same Earth, or are you playing them as from two separate worlds?

If we DON'T go with the wormhole gig, I can have -- heh -- Bart "guest star"...and have him use The Speed Force to tap into The Multiverse and travel between alternate worlds THAT way. He'd be so oblivious he won't know WHAT he's doing! Hehe. So he'd bounce between Peter and Gwen's two separate worlds (unless "Creotia" would prefer they're on the same Earth?), ping pong to 'our' main story's world....and then 'conveniently' speeeeeed the heck out....because I'm not writing for him too! Like I said, that would be just another Ace in my back pocket I could pull if we needed it! Kind of a cop out but...this IS fictitious so, yeahhh...;)

My initial thought is to have the two Marvel characters from two separate realities because that's how it was from cannon, but then again....we're doing our own thing...so clearly it doesn't have to be that way at all!

Any thoughts or opinions one way or another, "Creotia"? :)

IT's been years since I read any of them but isn't that essentially what the Exiles are? And with our house very specifically not where it belongs that seems like a perfect excuse to pull from wherever.

Besides even if they've never swapped characters for any length of time (God only knows why, a two year stint of Long Shot in DC and a two year stint of Question in Marvel would probably print money) they are linked in cannon the same as all multiverses just a little harder to get to.

I'm just hesitant about the whole thing. If we can play any character from any universe I won't play Raven. I'll actually probably still play Harley though. But if we start in the DC universe it'll be weird for me not to play DC characters. Just my weird OCD. Maybe we can just start in a neutral universe that we've created, and have everyone start there from wherever they came from. Maybe some original villain that just randomly grabs characters from other universes.

And sorry if I'm being a control freak.

Oh, you've never met Jeff before.

We can limit it to DC folk and I'll just go dig through the DC annals for someone who fits my style. Believe me it's the least complicated solution to this scenario.

If everyone else wants to do the multiple universe thing I can do it too. Don't let me bring down the entire group.

How about we let this RP focus on DC and do a separate Marvel RP as well? That way we aren't having crossovers but everyone gets to play their favored characters. Lachi and Creo can play Peter and Gwen in that RP and use different characters in this one. What do you guys think?

I think we've got two or at least one point five who feel strongly about a clean universe and at least one point five (countin Creo) who could give a fuck less. To me slamming just about every comic verse together only hits 4 primary snags. JLA/Avengers and Darksied/Thanos. If I bring my boy Ben along you get to add Vilgax. Everybody else doesn't really have any real conflicts. Batman and Spiderman have never met for the exact same reason that the Daredevil never once responds to a bank robbery with the Scorpion and Spiderman never gets mobbed by Mutant Haters despite him having a secret identity so they have no reason to DOUBT he's a mutant.

Marvel has at minimum two beings who are treated as the Devil. Dormamu tends to get more press as the primary antagonist of Strange but Mephisto is far enough up the totem pole that Peter Parker made a wish and got his Secret Identity back from the whole workd, his Aunt May alive again and his bachelorhood! (I mean he sacricied his marriage. So he could chase Black Cat Pussy.) And that's just counting things that are still cannon (or were prior to the most recent Secret Wars arc.

This however is not an argument I am interested in having. I can easily find myself a cannon DCer and move on along my way. It's not like they have a shortage I just have to go wikipediang.

If you guys do a seperate marvel thing I won't join that. I'm a DC girl. Marvel is alright but it doesn't do much for me.

I just want to make sure we can all agree and have fun. The idea of wild crossovers doesn't seem to appeal to everyone, and every one of you is equal, so I must take into consideration everyone's desires. However, I want this to get moving tonight, so I'm going to make a call and I hope everyone support me.

We will not do crossovers in the sense of every fandom existing in the same multiverse. The primary universe is our own version of DC sprinkled with bits and pieces of the other fandoms specifically requested by you all -- namely Marvel and Ben10. However, the setting is still overwhelmingly DC. Only a handful of characters and organizations will be from non-DC properties, such as the heroes and villains generally based in New York in Marvel, and agencies like SHIELD and HYDRA. Amanda Waller is a SHIELD agent. Lex Luthor is a member of HYDRA. The Plumbers are a human-based space program that worked with the Green Lanterns prior to the public knowledge of aliens.

Peter and Gwen can be in this RP, and one can be from Earth-1 while the other is from Earth-2. However, these earths are still based on the merging I described above, meaning Amanda Waller is a SHIELD agent on both worlds. Earth-2 is very similar to Earth-1 with only small differences.

The arc that brings us together is a team of heroes and the Suicide Squad joining forces on amission to attack a Reach science vessel working on a prototype wormhole generator. Shitnfoes down, the machine is activated, but it malfunctions and sucks us in, folds in on itself, and spits us back out at the same location, but a different vibrational frequency. At first we think nothing is wrong, until we get back to Earth and realize it's not OUR Earth.

From here, we can explore a few possibilities, such as traveling to other Earths in an attempt to find ours, ultimately becoming involved in a crisis on infinite earths. But the first step is to get this rolling and worry about only Earth-1 and Earth-2 for now. Is everyone okay with that course of action?

Oh, I'm not Ben. I'm Star. So we can keep this strictly DC without taxing our brains. Lets just do the simple thing for a change.

...I just erased what I was about to post when I saw you were posting at the same time! Heh.

I'm game with that bud. So which Earth is the 'home base/primary'? In other words, which one does the story and most of your characters start out on? Let's say it's Earth One for example. Let's say my character is from that same world. Then they are all ready merged -- like you stated -- so they ALL READY know one another. Right? So carry on like normal, no stranger in a strange land kinda vibes......am I right?

Also. How old are people's characters going to be? I have to start brainstorming my character sheet now.....:)

Don't make me ramble-post what I was about to post BEFORE "The_Jeffinator"(in disguise) posted -- which to sum it up....was "I only want(ed) to play Spidey" etc etc etc!

....'cause I will dammit!!! ;)

That sounds good to me!

Okay, so no Ben in this world. We will, however, proceed with the other things I had mentioned. Lachi, Spidey can be from Earth-1 and Creo, Gwen can be from Earth-2 and the first one to encounter us after we exit the wormhole. Shortly after we arrive, we realize something else followed us to this world, and we'll launch off from there.

I will be posting a new OOC with my characters, titled "Crisis on Infinite Earths." I will then post the link here and ask you to add your characters there. I will then write up the IC and get that posted tonight as well. We are rolling with this. Everyone on board?

Okay, finally home from work and all nice and relaxy :D. Sauteed some chicken and jalapenos in butter and soy sauce and mixed it with ramen. Gonna eat dinner while I watch Legend of Tomorrow and then it's time to bust ass writing. I'm off the weekend and plan to stay up late getting this thing rolling :D.

Sweet man. I'm the exact opposite. I'm dying....like exhausted...like going to be crashing soon! Heh...slept crappy last night...but AM off and very much looking forward to my *THREE-DAY-WEEKEND*

-- I'm NEVER off on weekends so this is huuuuuuuuge!! --

So I'll be sure to come up with a kick ass character sheet tomorrow in the new thread. And bring the webbed *thunder* and all around awesome-ness in the forthcoming IC thread! :)

My weekends off rotate, though it's the only time I have two days off in a row -- otherwise I have one weekend day and one weekday off. I can't remember if I mentioned it before, but I don't work at the hotel anymore -- I got hired at Macy's Credit & Customer Services - South back in November. It's a call center with about 1500 employees, though my department -- Furniture & Bedding Customer Service -- has about 400 of those employees. There are other departments such as Home Direct, Macys.com, Credit Granting, Collections, Human Resources, etc. The call center is about the size of a Walmart Supercenter and we even have a huge cafe with a 7-11-like store and self-check out kiosk and a restaurant section with hot fresh food, fountain drinks, and coffee.

It's a pretty good job and pays several dollars more an hour than any other job I've ever had, so that's awesome. I basically walk into work, make sure security can see my ID badge, then step out into the sea of cubicles, go to my desk, start up my computer, clock in using our DOS system called Mainframe, sign into the programs I use during the day (ICM, MaRK, and Skype Business), slip on my headset, log into my phone, and start taking calls. Most of my calls are from people wanting to set deliveries, file warranty claims, track drivers and delivery routes, update tech reports from craftsman that were sent out to repair merchandise, etc.

Some calls are fast and efficient, and others are downright stressful. Yesterday I ended up clocking out 45 minutes late because this woman called right at the end of my shift and was confused about her bill. She was convinced we had overcharged her because the salescheck for her new twin mattresses was more than the amount of the twin mattresses she had returned. She thought it was an equal exchange, when in fact it was a return/reselection. She had actually saved money on her new twins, but there was a queen mattress and box spring on the same salescheck, causing her to think the combined price for all four items was actually the price for just her twins. I went over the numbers step by step with her multiple times, but she was still convinced the total price of the four items was actually the total price of just her two twins and that we owed her money. I took her call at 6:07pm, and was supposed to clock out at 6:15pm. I ended up staying on the phone with her until 7pm, until finally I realized there was no way this was going to end smoothly so I waited for an opening, took control of the call, and shut her down. She even said those words, too.

Me: I do apologize for any confusion, but everything on my end shows you were charged correctly and accurately. There is nothing more I am able to do you for on this matter, but did you have any other questions or anything else I can help you with?"

Her: (long pause) Are you shutting me down?

Me: I'm sorry ma'am, but there is nothing more I can do for you on this matter. Did you have any other questions or anything else I can help you with?

Her: (proceeds to start raging about how rude I am and how she will go to the better business bureau and how she is going to start all kinds of shit)

Me: You are absolutely more than welcome to do whatever you feel is necessary. Thank you for calling Macy's and you have a nice day.

Her: And I hope you do NOT have a nice day! (then she hangs up)

LOL. And that's the story you didn't ask for, haha. Anyway, off to work writing up this new thread :D.

Okay, I edited the first post of the new OOC to include a link to the IC. I started us off on the ship heading towards the Reach science vessel, giving each of us a chance to make a single post to introduce our characters. Then in my next post I will start the attack, and we can cut loose and enjoy some action before the wormhole generator gets activated.

Just so I'm totally clear, the reach are the dudes who made blue beetle's beetle right?

Also I'm just going to say Raven and Beast Boy are already together.

And I'm writing in grey to test voices

They all sort of look the same....

Azarth metrion zinthos

Azarth metrion zinthos

Azarth metrion zinthos

Azarth metrion zinthos

This one. I was way off with the grey.
