Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

That's one of the reasons I liked what they did in Man of Steel where they also showed that Krypton had a different atmosphere. It gave us something new to consider.

So what about the internal organs? And needing oxygen?

Now that one depends on the incarnation. In Pre-crisis continuity Kryptonians and Daxamites are capable of surviving without any atmosphere. There are also other races capable of surviving without atmosphere as well. The people of Starhaven are an example. In post-crisis continuity they tried to make the Kryptonians a little less powerful and made them dependent on an atmosphere.

And in New 52 they have gone back to their not needing it for an extended period of time.

OK just dropping this in here as it is not related to anything you guys are talking about.

Who will know about The Red?

Animal Man would be the expert, and certainly my preferred choice for a mentor.

Constantine dabbles, as he does in all magics, but he's not fluent the way Buddy would be.

According to "The Science of Superman," all Kryptonians have a binary metabolism. One half digests physical food like we do, the other is solar-based.

The red suns do not provide the right wavelengths to empower them, but might provide enough nutrition to keep them from starving if they had no food. Under a yellow sun, they become so powerful as their body bioconverts and stores yellow solar energy that the food metabolism becomes superfluous. However, reexposing them to red sunlight would cause their body to start metabolising that light, and it would eat into their stores of yellow sunlight, causing them to revert to a depowered state. Not as lethal as Kryptonite (or lead for Daxamites), but still not awesome.

Oxygenation is, yeah, dependent on continuity and universe. I would say that an average empowered Kryptonian can hold their breath in vacuum anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours.

A supercharged Kryptonian, like All-Star Superman or someone infused with Kryptisium, could potentially operate without breathing indefinitely.

UV lamps would not be enough to give them powers, but there are full-spectrum sunlamps that can. Red sunlamps to depower, yellow to empower.

The Kryptonian exterior is reinforced by a bio-electric force-aura generated by their solar metabolisms, but they have an overall increased resilience and molecular density, so their internals are pretty damn invulnerable too.

Also they heal like blazes.

Upon reflection, let's go with John Constantine.

He's Hella fun to write and I like kind of keeping him tiptoeing around the outskirts here, as he would have been a member of The New League if Othermoose hadn't opted out.

He can at least give a sort of urban shaman crash course on The Red, and then Buddy can come in later to give Gar the maximum skinny.

Name - Jonathan Samuel Kent

Alter Ego - Superman

Alias - Jon

For GM's approval.

Looks good to me, Vic.

Loved the picture of Dean and Teri, that's a lovely nod.

My only continuity note is that while Doomsday's rampage started in Metropolis-- and sadly took out Lois :/ --it eventually crossed the country and ended up in Star City, California, where Doomsday killed that Justice League (and at some point, Supergirl) before being put down.

Good to know. I didn't want to put anything else in his bio since I don't know where exactly he'll be picked up so wanted to leave some room.

Just one question and it is kind of a scientific one brought up in a discussion about the sex life on some of the superheroes of the comics.

You state that this incarnation is a Kryptonian/Human who was born when Superman and Lois had a child on a yellow sun planet. Okay being purely scientific this is not possible.

First let's look at conception. When he ejaculates he would blow off Lois's head, Or depending on the angle of penetration at least shoot out some part of her body, several times.

Then let's assume it is accomplished through artificial means. If he was still born normally, he would absorb sunlight through his mothers skin, thus making him super strong, thus making his kicks and movements strong so he would actually have kicked her to death or kicked his way out of her.

Still maybe they used Wonder Woman as a Surrogate. (LOL) or even Kara.

Okay all of this was just a bit of fun, (You should have seen what they wrote about Mr Fantastic, Elongated Man and Rubber man. Hey they can stretch anything remember!)
