Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

Because the natural light in The Chapel comes from The Sun Room, M'Onel may find herself recharged a bit by being in there, so seeking solace there may serve a dual purpose.

She just won't necessarily get the full 24 hour charge that Jon is getting.

I think alas after Blue's last post M'Onel may have.berated her last and Andromeda may have returned. Anyone have a 7500 gig sonic shower to wash the blonde dye out?

Oh, yeah, The Doctor's good with sonics.

But she's going to be fascinated that Laur' found a bleach that worked on Daxamite hair! :O

Where do you need me at the moment? Can't have an Orca procrastinating on top of Barracuda.

I'm flexible! We're reaching a tipping point now where when one Extremist or more drops, the rest of them are going to start to feel more heat. Where would you like to go?

My favorite show of all time. Just a pity I can't download it, because of it's sheer size.

I get chills just thinking about it... sigh...

Guess I picked the right audience for that reference!

Oh be silent my fluttering heart

Shit, I spelled "Anointed" wrong.

What makes your heart flutter about that phrase? You've got me curious!

Need Computo?

The computer version or Danielle Foccart?

With the collective intelligence and memory of Earth-14, The Doctor is the equivalent of a Twelfth-Level Intellect. But either way, she can still marvel at miracles!

I would love to go to where I feel less like a poodle in a pitbul fight LOL

And it is the name that makes my heart flutter. The Names are something I hardly ever seem to come across, so it makes me happy to see it here.

The Gorgon fight could be good for that!

I'm glad it ministered to you in that respect!

I've used "Yeshua the Anointed" as a synonym for an AU Jesus Christ before. I think the last time was on Earth-1066. I figured it was better than "Josh Christ."

Ok I will have to look for an opening and an animal.

And you can try Iscos Khristos if you are looking for an alternative name.

That's excellent!

I may use that, thank you!

And as for Gorgon, couldn't go wrong with a great big octopus or a horde of spiders. :D

They can't change state when depowered?

I thought it was like Hatch... Just with sunlight instead of a significant other

Kara Zor-El seemed to be able to change hair-color at will in the "Supergirl" movie back in the day, but that film was magnificently apocryphal.

Also, any bleach/dye job on a depowered Daxamite/Kryptonian/Ognessonian permanent enough to not just heal away when they got their powers back must be really, really permanent.

Now hair is dead cells, so it wouldn't heal would it?

But you are saying their bodies revert to an ideal state in sufficient sun light?

Yessir.

A single Kryptonian hair can suspend several tons indefinitely in the correct solar conditions. Going by that, I would suggest that a depowered Kryptonian's hair would expunge foreign chemicals when repowered as it regains molecular impermeability.

The greater portion of a Kryptonian's invulnerability comes from the forcefield, but they still retain a significant toughness without it.

Magic bypasses that forcefield but it's still a chore to put a Kryptonian down with magic because even after getting through that forcefield their bodies are still immeasurably strong, and with that strength comes resilience. Magic may also bypass a certain measure of that internal resilience, of course, but it's still no sure bet.

In the post-Crisis/pre-Flashpoint comics, Superman's wounds healed even after Doomsday had killed him. He needed the Kryptonian regeneration matrix to properly come back from that death, and also certain spiritual shenanigans, but his body looked in pristine condition even after Doomsday had quite literally beaten the living daylights out of him.

If I remember correctly, they had one doing just that in the Smithsonian museum on Earth 1.

I once listened to the history of Superman on NPR. If I remember correctly, when he first started out he couldn't fly. It's interesting how his power has ramped up over the decades.

Able to LEAP tall buildings in a SINGLE bound.

basically he could jump over the empire state building. but couldn't fly.

George Reeves in the 1950's movie series started flight.. with a spring board.

and superman wore his underwear on the outside to make him look like a strong man from the circus..

The original super powerset and circus strongman look was, I think, largely inspired by the look and abilities of Paul Wylie's "Gladiator."

The first "Superman" that Siegel and Shuster came up with was a lot more like Lex. Bald, super intelligent, but they reinvented the concept after Wylie.

Then Captain Marvel came out, and if he could fly, then Superman could too..

In "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace," a hair like that was where Luthor got the genetic material for Nuclear Man.

Although, you talk about apocryphal...

Plus one of the things they did in the new 52 era was whenever he was depowered the jumping from place to place was all he could do until he fully recharged.

So far I don't know if they're going to continue that trend now that the pre-flashpoint Superman is Superman again.

When pre-Flashpoint Clark depowered, he was basically human, not even the big jumps. But he didn't have the solar flare power. It'll be interesting to see how his biology adapts to the new universe.

We have a channel that plays the very early era Superman cartoons, (50's I think). It is amazing how different the powers are. He has trouble picking up boulders, stopping trucks and even gets knocked out by normal bomb type explosions. Flying speeds are slow and even his ability to withstand heat and cold, hold his breath, and fly into space are almost non existent.
