Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

Re: Dial Wars
Interesting read on the Dial Wars. Kiz doesn't know everything, but I've been thinking that major events and things that would impact his mission, he'd have gotten briefed or at least heard rumors about from the Time Lords and others in power in Zerox.

Re: Beast Boy
Yeah, I love that spice he hads to the mix.

Works for me!

I volunteer.

Thank you, dear.

That would indeed be interesting!

From a figurative standpoint, considering that a plot point of this thread involves two power grids layered on top of each other, having two G.R.I.D.s fighting side by side is a kind of poetry. :D

We'll see what comes up the next time Ruby gets up the courage to Dial.

Who are the superhumans that run around with Lex again?

Mercy Graves is his driver, valet, and all around personal assistant. She's bad-ass enough that she qualifies for bodyguard detail. My version of her is a metahuman with the ability to multiply herself like Jamie Madrox or Dupli-Kate-- or Ditto from "Ben 10." Coupled with her martial arts prowess this makes her a literal one-woman army. She looks like she did in the "Young Justice" animated series.

Hope Taya is an Amazon from Themyscira, Lex' chief bodyguard, with an immortal lifespan's battle-hardening and superhuman strength to boot. Occasionally armed with LuthorCorp-tech weaponry, her current attempt to recruit Billie Batson to Lex' League has been... rudely interrupted.

Kelley Bishop is a cyborg who escaped from a shady military-industrial organization and sought answers from Lex-- he's mentoring her and she's providing considerable tactical support to his security team. She actually managed to blast Val-Zod off of a roof in the original conflict that brought this League together, and now she's helping defend Lex against invading Kobra forces. She was the brilliant concept of MilkManDan007 and had been pitched as a member of The League before MMD's untimely disappearance from these hallowed fora. I'm keeping her in continuity in case MMD ever comes back.

He's going to college in Berkeley.

Captain Marvel is his roommate.

They've just discovered they're both superheroes.

After they fight Kobra in San Francisco, protecting Silver's parents, they're going to form a Titans West team out of San Francisco's neighborhood of Jump City. Possibly with Zatanna. I'm not sure yet if Jessica Cruz is going to join them even though she's based on The West Coast.

I've gotten tagged a lot. Should get posts out tomorrow night. Must plot.....

Do I owe anyone a reply or a cue IC?

I don't think I do, but thought best to check.

Velocity did talk to Renegade requesting a set of Knives from her...But Nightwing stepped in and offered her a set of his throwing blades instead.

So you can choose to reply to that post or not as you see fit.

Renegade is Varshanka's and she's plotting replies. Renegade isn't very talkative, but she may have some kind of response.

Got caught up with some FF Möbius last two days. But I'm back in the saddle. Working on a post now.

My most recent post is now edited to include a wide swath of tags.

In particular, if GRID scans with The Scan Visor, he'll be able to detect and ping Static's communication rig with Lysl's help.

Additionally, he may detect Raven's T-Comm.

Even though Kaldur gave up his watch to Garfield, he still has his own T-Comm so if we get split up he won't be entirely off the radar.

So everyone does flavor posts until the Rider to shows up and causes some drama before moving on to the stadium?

I have half a post put together, but I'm tired. Dog got into it with a skunk last night, and I was up till 2:30am dealing with that and well I'm tired. Blah.

That's about the mass and volume of it, yeah.

Though of course any such posts will help our characters get to know each other and develop bonds as a team, so it's not without value.

Ugh.

Get some rest, dear. No rush no pressure.

Feel better, and I hope your dog is okay.

Mighty fine interlude post Miss Nicollette. I do so love your writing on these. Gives the thread a whole new flavor and definitely gives it the feel of a Graphic Novel.

It's like we are writing one part of the Battle while all the other parts are also going on. Love it. :rose:

Thank you, dear!

The idea is that we have a comic book universe, so when we have a big crossover event, you see how it connects and intersects with the storylines of other major titles. So if the Titans have their own book, we're seeing how this Justice League event connects with their plot.

And in between events, we see adventures back home like characters in their solo books?

And all the while seeds are planted for future arcs, so that longtime readers have a sense of continuity. Lofty goals and probably pretentious, but I think if a thing is worth doing it's worth doing well.

Thank you for grokking my flow!

Yeah I always enjoy your posts and the interludes are fun.

Also a shout out to Var. I'm amazed she's able (like you) to keep such distinctive voices for all of her characters.

All characters are individuals. I used to play dungeon and dragons as well as Vampire the Masquerade. All my characters had separate personalities even then.

Maybe I have Split Personality Disorder. and it comes out in my writing/gaming.
