Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

Alter Ego - Theodora "Thea" Grant

Alias - Wildcat

Age - 38

Appearance - http://pm1.narvii.com/5748/28b6bced839360ed64d6efafd2a15d733bbb33bd_hq.jpghttp://static1.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_super/13/134753/3027000-0tr.jpg

Personality - Gruff and matter of fact, yet still capable of being a tease and a flirt when it is appropriate. Thea is a stern teacher and a vicious combatant. She doesn't make friends quickly, but when she does she is a friend for life.

Gear (optional) - Thea's costume is similar to those worn by most of the "Bat family". Layered Kevlar with light plating. In her gloves, there are retractable claws that are about two inches in length, capable of being used for either fighting or climbing. The knuckles of the gloves are filled with powdered depleted uranium making them hit like the literal ton of bricks. There are a few hidden places in the costume that can hide a few small items such as lock picks and a black credit card.

Power/ability - A highly skilled hand to hand combatant as well as an acrobat with absolutely no fear of things such as heights. "Cat by name, cat by nature" definitely fits Thea. Among her fighting styles are boxing, mixed MMA, and Krav maga. She has had a run in or two with some strange things in her life including a miscast curse by an angry mage that lost money on one of her MMA matches. This has resulted in a rather unexpected perk of giving her the classic nine lives of a cat. She has run afoul with a bit of bad luck twice so far. Once was a car accident and the other was a drive by shooting. Two down and seven left.

Weakness - She is still pretty much a human. Bullets do not bounce off this girl when she isn't dressed for the party.

Bio - Born Theodora "Thea" Grant, Wildcat lived a rough life in the streets of Detroit. fending for herself with her drug addicted prostitute mother and her string of "uncles", some of whom had wandering eyes and hands. Thea was a bad seed looking for trouble through her entire childhood. After her third arrest for violent crimes in her teens she was shipped off to her grandfather that she had been named for. Theodore "Ted" Grant taught his granddaughter discipline and her fighting skills. He became her trainer/manager when she broke onto the mixed martial arts scene. Thea Grant, the Hellcat, soon became the top women's MMA fighter in the country.

This had problems of it's own. First was the mumbo jumbo Voodoo dude that spat at her in some strange language and threw cats blood on her. Then there was the mob idiots trying to get her in their "stall". The former ended up being a blessing when the mob tried to run her Grand dad over and she pushed him out of the way. She hadn't been as lucky as Ted and ended up being hit by the car. She got up from that with her Grand looking at her in shock. He had checked her pulse and there had been none. She tried best she could to keep Ted safe, but eventually the mob got him while she was in the ring.

Outraged Thea quit the MMA circuit and donned a mask. She took down the mob with extreme prejudice and earned the name Wildcat in the press. Once that mob family was gone Thea hung up her mask and returned to the gym she inherited from Ted. She also found out she had inherited one other thing from Grand dad. This one surprised her to no end. It would seem Ted had kept a secret or two himself. Thea is now known among the older Hero community as the go to girl for training the next generation of heroes. It was during this time a certain masked vigilante who shall remain nameless gave her a costume to wear for training.

When the older generation vanished she donned the costume for business this time and now the Wildcat is on the prowl to keep an eye on "Her kids".

Notes - Theme song: "Under and over it"- Five Finger Death Punch.

I will say.......

approved.

(Though I think the durability would be higher)

Thank you. And I was running based on the example on stats. I will gladly raise it. Say 50?

Var makes a very good point.

Even though Thea is as breakable as a normal person, 20/25, she has that autoresurrection factor times nine. Bumping her durability up would reflect that.

I think a technical 50 would do the trick.

50 is good

I became a non person again and didn't get, still haven't gotten, email notification for like a week.

After the rust is cleared off and if the need arises, I had a Lanterny idea for a certain raven stressed Tamaranian....... I think Blackfire would look good in yellow...... Huh? Am I right? Says Wyld wearing her yellow ring......

Yeah I've been limping along past week. Just feeling really tired.

No worries, no pressure.

The unfortunate reality of such a big cast is getting our ducks in a row before the main boss fights go live.

On the downside, it means our posting momentum decelerates, but on the bright side it gives downtime to those who might need it. Like, my staycation week was supposed to be a super big writing factory time for me, but wound up becoming IRL busy instead.

So if you're feeling sluggish, no worries, there's time yet to get your feet under you before we gotta boogie.

I agree with that!

Again, it won't be for some time yet, there's another arc on this Earth before we start dealing with what's going on with The Green Lanterns and The Sinestro Corps in this version of events. But if you want to add a little yellow to Blackfire's golden Tamaranean complexion, I am totally open to that idea!

I go through that from time to time. I think it's what ever server that Lit uses.

I sometimes get a little lag, but it's never more than a couple of hours or days, whole weeks would be bothersome.

I would get that all the time with Yahoo Groups, especially with the Yahoo Mail mobile app, like CONSTANTLY especially when the app updated versions. But Lit for me has been, knock on wood, fairly consistent.

Still, I grok how annoying that can be.

That'll be an interesting day!

Is your IC post a flashback, Wyld? I wasn't sure whether to engage Thea yet in the current Event.

Any blanks you need filled in, let me know.

No flashback. Engage at will..... Or give her a reason not to beat the shit out of a possible innocent:D

Hey Chas,

As far a s the main story line...what's the scenes outstanding before everyone ends up at the Arena?

An outline would be handy

We just need to cross the city at this point.

First we should take out the source of the bloodmages' power, then move on to the centerpiece.

Anyone who can join us before then, Rocket, Billie, Thea, are welcome to do so.

Wyld, here's the main kickoff post:

In-Game Event - The Age of Chaos / Strength in Numbers

And so it happened all across North America.

Every major metropolitan area in The United States, Canada, and Mexico suddenly found itself under a siege of ninja-esque warriors clad in green, scaly uniforms and wielding gleaming blades.

They would appear in flashes of yellow-green flame and all those nearby would be subject to the most lethal of violence.

Driving further fear into the hearts of their victims, they seemingly vanished at will, only to appear a heartbeat later at another spot, dealing out death wherever they went.

As though this were not bad enough, some of the soldiers who materialized would inject themselves with a chemical cocktail that instantly transformed them into hulking abominations of massive destructive power...

...craggy beasts of leathery skin and exposed, inhuman sinew, crushing everything in their path.

...and still others, clad in dark brown hooded robes with their features hidden in shadow, used terrifying blood magic to deadly effect on enemies and bystanders alike.

"Hail Kobra!" they would howl.

"No God but God!"

"FAITH TO KALI YUGA!"

Chaos rained.

Chaos reigned.

The Ajagar mammoth-guys are capable of benching 20 tons and have a pretty high nigh-invulnerability rating. The magic guys are scary and can boil your blood, displace spacetime to teleport and redirect attacks, and/or turn your guts to snakes.

But you should be able to punch your way through the ninjas pretty expertly.

Riding into Gotham you should see them all around you.

If you latch onto one of the ninjas while they're teleporting, you'll be dragged with them to the Keystone/Central battle scene.

Then we can fold you into the main group pretty expediently, if you're of a mind.

If you'd prefer to just stay on the East Coast and fight ninjas, we can work you into The League after the Event, but whatever floats your goat.
