Kavanaugh is under consideration for SCOTUS, not sainthood (of a sort few saints achieved). Now a record of lying, particularly in adulthood, is one that would concern me. But when he first made it, or may have lied about doing it or not doing it, is pretty far down my list of concerns. Those are, after all, a young man’s personal lies (if they are that), not professional ones. Leftists have all of a sudden become exquisitely concerned about how sexuality plays out in somone’s Life. Utter hypocrisy, to say the least!

Note that he illegally drank in high school and continually lies about that in his testimony, pointing out that the drinking age in Maryland was 18 at one time. That's irrelevant to him. The drinking age in Maryland was raised from 18 to 21 in 1982--while he was still 17. He had been binge drinking before that, so before he was even 18. So, he wasn't legal either when he was drinking in 1982 nor afterward until he reached 21. His misleading on this in congressional testimony reflects his basic dishonesty--right now. This is but one example. He fudge lied on other issues too in his congressional testimony and outright lied on others. He doesn't have the integrity to be a TV traffic court judge, let alone a Supreme Court justice--by his own lying in congressional hearings testimony.

Give me some specifics, and some references to substantiate your claims. I never heard that he denied drinking in high school, although he seemed unaware that the drinking age had been raised from 18 to 21 around the time he turned 18- that hardly constitutes a lie.

I don’t know how your third allegation of his lying could even be substantiated- I find your charge of lying to be pure bile on your part (something you are skilled at). If anything, his statement about no president having consulted more people is simply Kavanaugh’s informal sense of the selectionprocess, and not to be taken too literally. And this administration does have a reputation of thoroughly examining its Supreme Court candidates. But in your hate-filled mind, his statement can only be a “lie”. Get a grip, phodreau.

As for Dr Ford, whom you seem to so thoroughly trust, there is no confirming evidence beyond her own testimony, and some of what she says has been contradicted. The female friend Ms. Ford says was at the home the night of the assault says she wasn’t there. The number of people she says were there has varied from four to five and perhaps more, but every potential witness she has cited by name says he or she doesn’t recall the party.

She still can’t recall the home where the assault took place, how she got there or how she got home that evening. She has no witnesses who say she told them about the alleged assault at the time—until she first spoke of it at a couples therapy session 30 years later. Kavanaugh’s name doesn’t appear in the notes of her therapist. No, these facts do not prove anything one way or other, but they do suspicion about her account.
