Mansard sat down next to Vixen at the table.
"My dear Vixen, it has been a most entertaining morning."
"Yes it has Mansard," answered Vixen.
"You my dear, may call me Mouse," the small man grinned through a blush.

As the sounds of breakfast drew to a close, Brzen stood up
from the table and cleared his throat to gain everyone's
attention. "If I may address the room for a moment. While I
appreciate the sentiment to get started with the mission, I
have always found it best to complete all possible
preparations before leaving, rather than miss something
important later.
In particular *nods towards the King* I believe his Majesty
said something last night about formal written contracts
for the party, which no-one has signed as of yet." Brzen
proceeds to clear off a large section of the table, and
unfurld a trio of maps, the booty of last nights work in
the library by Mansard, Glorianna, and himself. "Also, we
need to go over the information that has been collected,
and decide on a route and course of action. Lady Glorianna,
you appear to have an impressive command of this material.
If you would please explain our general travel options to
the group?". He then moves back against the wall to allow
her access to the maps, carefully tucking his other notes
from last night into his travel gear.
Mansard eating robustly while stealing glances at the delights within Vixens shirt moaned at Brzen's announcement.
"Excuse me my dear," he left the table and walked to the Thief. He spoke softly, "Brzen, hours of study and you turn the reporting over to the child?! hmmmp....My offer still stands from last night. Consider the pact.....with this odd troop allies may become a necessity."
Mansard returned to his seat, hoping perhaps for one more sausage. He feels a tingling on his chest. He palms the bag under his vest. "Who is probing my mind.."
She stiffened at the diragatory comment. She was not a child. Had she been a boy, she would have been knighted years ago, and she probably been her uncle's right hand man. But, God in her infinate wisdom, chose to make her a woman. Glorianna, her eyes flashing like deep crystals, stood and rounded on the little man.
"I'll have you know that I am twenty years old. I AM NOT A CHILD. Further more, I happen to be more knowledgeable about these lands than most men. There is a reason my uncle is sending me on this journey. Not that that is any of your business. Now, if you wish to discredit me, don't do it because I am a woman. Find a GOOD reason. Have I made myself quite clear?"
She could tell she had stunned him. She also heard Vixen's chuckled, "Bravo my dear. Well done." Mansard could only nod.
"Now, the quickest route to our destination is through the Blackwell forest." She pointed to a place on the map, slowly tracing a path as she continued. "It will take us around the mountains and their inhabitants in the south, but can make us easy prey to any highway bandits." Glori pointed to another place. "This path through the Northern Deserts is a little longer but much safer passage. Either way we won't get there in under a week." Having said her peace she marched back to her place beside Vixen, waiting for one of the men to contradict her. She didn't doubt one would, they usually did.
OOC: Hey, Roland you fucking idiot, read the ooc for this, and if your not happy with that i'll turn you back. Also, that's one of the easiest spells, it's called a counterspell, now, if you want to be a snakman, i can counter you again, you didn't object, so I thought you liked it. And he isn't anything like a demi-god, he can be killed by a powerful enough human, his spells are resisted by some as well. Happy?
But after all that counterin' Lokken is tired and at 25%(still pretty strong and it will take him six months to fully recover, happy?)he asks, "if we are not going to be leaving, what will we be doing?"
Brzen smirked at the scene before him.
Poor Mansard. Still that should teach him not
to assume by sight alone. Rasing his voice
slightly Brzen spoke, gesturing to the second
map laid out on the table.
"In addition to the overland route, we also have the option of taking a ship. Unfornately since Ku-athra is a landlocked country we would have to make port in the Dalelands and cross overland from there. This should prove adavantages in contacting the Dalelands government, but would make it harder to cross into Ku-athra, as the Dalelands-Ku-athra border tends to be heavily fortufied.
Or lastly we could land in the western wild-lands, North and
East of Ku-athra. However this would require considerable
time, both in the longer journey to make port, and in crossing the mountains on the Ku-athra border."
He then calmly leaned back and waited for the group
to begin debate and make a decision.
Sith stood watching Vixen feinting dialectically with everyone. He liked that.
"Dessert... We should go through the desssert... it is the best possible way. I can guarantee you this: as long as I'm in the group, no reptile will attack us in the desert." it was easy to see Siths origins made him want the desert.
_Why did Roland lie about the poison? He had said his father's blood made him immune, and I believed it... Turning into a snake man is not unhear of, but it is less than 1% of the time. If he had just spoken earlier, I could have stoped the process. Damm it._
"Roland, I'm very sorry about your state. But hey, now we are bonded by one of the strongest bonds: race! Any questions about us, just ask. You'll find one thing possitive in your new state: the desert crossing wont trouble you at all, in fact, you'll like it. Just don't cede to the temptation of lying naked on the hot sand... unless it is with appropiate company, that is." he said winking. Roland and Vixen only remembered Sith using humour once before... Had Roland's near demise affected him? Did snakes have heart, as Sith used to say?
"Lokken, I'm in your debt for helping Roland. Your counterspell has probably saved his life. Now he is a real snake man from the beginning, he wont have to be a snake for the first year..."
Roland: so this is what it feels like...blood relations had to do with this.....The very essence of my father caused the trnsformation....or rather sped it up..i can fell the diference i feel...so alive! I laughed heartaly and did a double back flip one of the few arobatics i never could get right...
"wow....i feel Great better than ever before.....i feel...free from all of those bonds of power all of the things i could never do and now..i feel my former class has reverted to its exact oppisate!im a warrrior now and can porperly use DragonSting..wow i feel better than i ever have before!tis is great thank you so much sith thank you.....i thank you for your services to all of the 6 ! thank you i do belive i will have quite a few questions for you once we're on our way.... oh i do belive i will need some new clothes!" roland smiled the smile usually reserved for new fathers or people whos luck was looking up he looked so...carefree now.....He was a little more muscular..taller too as his full hieght of 6'10 was now noticed by all and still he looked like a warm king....what a transformation...."oh and vixen.. there is no need to worry about me for now i have lost my mind reading powers..but i gained one kept specificly for warriors....i guess i recently qualified now i can control the Light Hawk Wings! so now thats enough about me and myself...when do we all set out i feel the need to buy everyone a round at the local bar! so whos with me!?" a cheer came up with all of the adventurers and the tromped off to the bar where Roland kept buying people drinks untill they had enough now he thought we can do this with our resolve strengthened lets be off!
"Here you have the contracts" said Morbius, signaling to his chamberlain, who was bringing them to the table.
"I must tell you they are slightly magical, not the ones I wanted the old Roland to sign, but basically, if either part breaks the contract, he'll be cursed for 1 year... The contracts specify you are looking for peace, so please, be careful not to start a war! My people depend on you all."
Mansard sits on a stool at the tavern, his head down and pint in each fist. 'I can't believe she heard that,' he thought. 'Women! Bah, they'll be my undoing yet. Now this Roland....I thought he was a lunatic, turns out he's one hell of a guy.'
"Hey Roland, one more round down here!"
'If we go by way of Daleland my quest will be well begun,
but...' Mansard pondered.
"What! Got to go back for contacts? Of course!" Mansard gathered himself. 'Terrible waste of beer...hmmm.'
Roland:i said in a bit of a comical voice
"well i wont start any wars THIS time kingy...i'll sign but my lawyer wont like it!nuyk nuyk!" i sign the Contracts my full name
x-Rolando Inglacies Sath Gilliad
"well im all signed in now if you'll excuse me for a moment.. i still know a little magic.." i said a few magic words and was now clothed in some proper armor
"there we go! thats a much better fit! now comon comon sign the contracts and lets go i have a test to pass and a sword to earn!!!i might not make it but hey!thats the breaks life hands ya sometimes...now where did i lay down that backback its in my cart somewhere....oh here it is...hey sith i got a present for you a spell i recived upon my resignation from the guild..here its a shadow spell and scince i wont need spells anymore you can have it! its a new version of shadowwalk that allows you to get in two hits instead of just one! oh and vixen i want you to take these.."
i throw her a pair of theives knives
"those are better than the ones you have now scince their infused with psionic energysi have also readys several other amenitys that you can choose from the cart in my backback i have evrything that wont be taken..oh i missed this one!"
i took out a staff with an almost real life serpent on it..
"dont know what to make of it i thought you might know sith i dug it out of my old Magi Stuff locker at the guild..Odd'est thing the guy i got it from treated it as if it was his son..he died tryin to protect it so i took it to keep it safe dont know what to make of it though...."
a loud crash same from outside
"oh shaddowfax is acting up again...i gotta go fix things ill be right back..!" i walked out of the building to take care of my horse witch had been spooked by a rude little kid....
_Almost real life?_ thought Sith as he reverently took the staff.
_If the new Roland haden't been so excited with his new snake-man form he could have seen it is a real life snake bound to this staff._
"Thanks, Roland." he says with a small bow.
"Well, please finish signing the contracts with fair King Morbius and you can be on your way. The soon you start the mission the more possibilities to avert a war!"
Roland: "calm down shaddowfax calm down ....Shhhhhhhh its ok...its ok shaddowfax.." the horse finnaly calmed down
"there we go all better now excuse me ill be back soon"
i walked back inside to see everyone who hadent signed looking over the contracts
"oh comon just boiler plate stuff we need to get going..every second wasted the opponents i face in the test will become that much stronger and if the yare already tough i dont needem to be any tougher...aww why am i worrying? its ok if i dont pass! i can find somthing else to seek..like the helm of courage..or the Obsidian Sword... Or The Fabled Moonstone.. or the Armor Of Strength...or , well anything!"
i smiled a big smile and decided i needed somthing to eat..i got out a nice big peice of Jerky and started munchin on it...its gonna be a great trip! and a glorius morning i said aloud..that got a few laughs though
Pierce, with a swift flick of his weapon arm, managed to loosen the grip of his big sister's lighter sword and make it jump in the air out of her hands, causing it to fly in the direction of their elder family member. Glorianna nonchalantly shuffled in her seat as it pummeled into a soft cushion next to her, splitting it into two.
"That could of been my head," she said matter of factly. She sipped her tea and stared down at her nose at her younger relatives.
"Oops. Sorry, Glori." Glorianna ignored the remark and stared intently at her book: "Sir Percye the Noble Traveller's Guide To Kuathra's Etiqette." Right now she was on chapter two: "how to say a greeting to a Kuathrian without getting decapitated." Furrowing her brow, she shivered as she read the passage: "a Kuathrian has the right, as a male warrior, to take an unmarried female of no family and make her his property..." Skim reading further, her eyes drifted to another passage: "Kuathrians despise female warriors; one unfortunate female thief who got caught with a weapon was raped, tortured and held for a mockery in the central city of Kuathra, where she was tied up for the entire population to see. She died of either starvation or hyperthermia." Glorianna shuddered a little again, and thought of the female assassin she had just met. And, for that matter, of the Princess Marietta. Although she liked being female, she felt then that sometimes she wish she were a man; prejudices of her sex made her furious.
"Dammit Pierce, why are you better then me?" Marietta panted in exertion and collapsed on the floor, an arm flung over her eyes tiredly. Pierce was going to say: "because I'm a man," taking the risk of being beaten up by both Glorianna and Marietta. But a voice inturrupted him.
"That's because he has had more training," said a deep male voice from the shadows of the room. Pierce drew his sword again.
"Show yourself," he demanded. The mysterious voice came forward to all to see and it was...
Roland:man why are these people...(human i can call em now?)
taking so damned long for these contracts...i need somthing to do...i know...im gonna do that trick i know..
i Stood up and started gathering energy quickly i was able to summon quite a bit..i then used one of the magics i knew
i made a complete double of myself but no one seemed to notce..
"fancy meetin you here." i said to my double in a smartass way"we go for 3 hours or until their done then we go on the trip" "right" the double said and we began to spar
She couldn't help but shudder at words she was reading. Damn those Kuathrians! Why did they treat women so. Now, not only did she have to worry about making peace, she had to worry about Marietta. She was to young to know how much danger she was in, and she was so blunt, she might say something that could get her killed. And what about that whole thing with a female with no family. She had family, but it they were her parents. Just her uncle and aunt. Did that count? Would some awful warrior claim her and treat her like his horse? No, she thought grimly, she would be treated worse than a horse. She was only a woman after all. If one tried to claim her, she would pretend to be married. She would take her mother's wedding ring and wear it on a string around her neck, just in case. Marietta's complaint brought her from her own thoughts.
"Damnit Pierce, why are you better than me?"
Glori smiled, she knew what Pierce wanted to say. Because he was a man. Egotistical little bastard. Before her father had died, he had taught her to fence. It was a little different than the swords that Pierce and Marietta were using, but she could still beat Pierce if she put her mind to it. She just didn't want to embarass him. He might not talk to her if she did.
"That's because he has had more training." Glori turned to see who had spoken. She hated it when people stayed in the shadows and watched people.
Roland:3 hours we're almost up and i was starting to persperate...wow what endurance these bodies have...i couldnt think any more as we went back to the attacks and defence manuvers..then 3 hours were up. i knew because they we're all getting ready to leave...we quickly merged back together and started to be ready to leave...i sent that mansard fellow to fetch lokken...this wasgood training.my power is increasing faster than before..yet another unexpected twist!well its almost time to go..i wonder what sith got outa that staff i gave him...i am quite curious...
"hey Sith..before we have to go, can you tell me anything at all about the staff i gave you?i am quite curious about it and would really like to know."
The man with dark hair and angular features revealed himself by stepping quietly forward.
"Allow me to introduce myself..." he started before he was interrupted quite effectively by the excitable form of Vixen throwing herself into his arms. "Tempest!!!" She squealed and everybody watched in surprise as the assassin, usually so in control, giggled like a little girl as the man picked her up and swung her around in a circle.
"Trinity dear one... I had no idea you would be here..." He did a good job of hiding his surprise. Finally he placed her down carefully. Vixen's eyes were bright with happiness as she looked over the man. "You look well dearest..." she smiled radiantly. The man made a show of preening before her which considering his dark good-looks was quite amusing.
"Oh Tempest, you always could make me laugh!" She grabbed his hand and dragged him over to Glorianna. "Glori, let me introduce you to my big brother," she was interrupted by him clearing his throat, "Valdor, M'Lady Glorianna, and may I add, 'tis a pleasure indeed to meet a woman of such high mental capabilities..." his smile was warm as he elegantly lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles lightly.
"Oh dear, forgot that's what you like to be called outside of home." Vixen grimaced.
"It's no different from your own name... Vixen..." he emphasized with a smile.
She giggled. "Oh, mom and dad would have a fit if they knew my real profession though, so it's understandable, you however being the boy of the family don't have the same excuse."
"Who said that was my excuse? I just think it's a more mysterious name... " he grinned back at her.
She tossed her mane of dark silky hair over her shoulder and scrunched up her nose at him.
Roland:i decided to check up on vixen as we were going to leave soon..i found out she was with glorianna's room..i at first didnt know if i should knock..then i heard a girlish squeal...Vixen? couldnt be..she was alwase so controlled..i listened very closely...Tempist was it? never herd of the chap...hmmm nothing comes to mind...better come out and say it.. i decided to open the door slightly and said
"excuse me..may i come in? thanks..."
i entered and saw vixen in the arms of this tempist...
"well hello there! i dont belive we've met...my Name is Rolando Gilliad, theif, warrior, and entertainer extrordinare!" although im no longer egotisitical. i now state the facts
"and your name sir, i do wonder what it is and why Miss Vixen seems to like you so much. may i enquire what you do, where you come from.. and how the devil didnt i see you walk by me?"
She could only stare at the handsome man Vixen had introduced. Her brother? She could definetly see the resemblence.
"I..." she cleared her throat. "I'm very pleased to meet you." Get a HOLD of yourself, she scolded. What was wrong? No one had ever really caught her eye before, not like him. He had her acting like Marietta. She must get a grip. She just prayed he was coming on the mission. She'd never be able to think strait with him near by all the time.
Roland: i decided on the spot i liked this guy.He was basicly a Guy Version of vixen.. but he had somthing else to him...an air of confidance that only is usually seen among young brash upstart warriors or mages..the man seemed about 6'7" looked to be about 240 pounds..had a very fancy lookign scabbard with him...Glamdring?it very well might be...or maybe Orcist?or very possibly...was that sword...Mithlander? if it was i decided to look impressed..didnt think old man Zeton would let anyone have that sword..let alone a brash man like this one...oh it looks like vixen wants to talk..better pay attenton..
Vixen smiled noticing with pride Glorianna's reaction to her big brother. He was definitely a hunk, and charming to boot and she did adore him so. She loved that a woman as fabulous as Glorianna seemed to think so also. She had to admit, she herself was bias, and it was lovely to know that other's agreed with her opinion of Valdor.
Vixen turned to notice Roland enter. He was checking up on her she was certain. Honestly he just infuriated her sometimes. She still wasn't completely comfortable with his new body. He was a snake-man now apparantly. The thought icked her out a bit, she knew it was silly since she obviously had no problem with Sith, but Roland had been human and they had a history despite their differences, he had grown on her. Now she just didn't know what to do about him. He didn't fit into her carefully organised life.
She turned back to Valdor instead. "Val darlin', you are coming along with us aren't you? Honestly you MUST, we've never really worked together before, it would be sooooo fabulous!" Vixen practically cooed, she was such a little girl around Valdor, both Roland and Glorianna looked at her in dismay, totally unprepared for this flirtashious version of Vixen.
Vixen batted her warm brown eyes up at her big brother. He sighed dramatically and shrugged his shoulders. He turned to Glorianna who seemed desperate to look anywhere but at him. He managed to catch her eye and he smiled his devilish smile at her noting her sweet blush. "Ahh, well, maybe I'm not as welcome as you'd think sister dearest"
"Oh don't be ridiculous, no one here would dare deny what an asset you'd be, quick come with me, we'll ask the King, I'm sure he'll agree."
Valdor hesitated and inclined his head towards Glorianna, "M'Lady," his voice was warm like a caress, "if all goes well with my petition to the King, it would indeed be a pleasure knowing that I will be blessed with such charming company."
He bowed elegantly and was unceremoniously pulled out of the room by Vixen. He managed a brief amused smile at the rest of the room before he was swept away by the energetic whirl wind that was Vixen.
Roland and Glorianna stared after the two in silence, both lost in their own thoughts.
