opps yeah...thanks for linking that back...![]()
sketch for blockprint
TQ.
yes adding the texture pulls her in closer. I will add another softground texture and then the last thing we will do is an aquatint.
...have to use each technique the teacher is showing us...so gotta work it into the idea I have in mind.
a sketch from a photo
Thank you Mr Photo Source.
(my son thinks I'm slightly cracked for sketching a dead bird)
thanks...yeah its good to be able to do/refresh on the techniques...if I had preplanned HOW i wanted to reach my goal it could be an annoyance. so far I have been able to get it to work the way I want.
interesting contrast between the sketch and the block print. i have to keep reminding myself as I cut, carve, gouge etc what the process yields ( how it differs from the other process - etching that we are doing concurrently)

no wonder some of the photos have fingers in them!!
never seen a burd with fingersHi Austin. Thanks. the proofs are on newsprint. the finals will be on good printing paper.
in the future I want to play with other printing surfaces and with Chine-Collé as someone sent me some lovely japanese paper
gonna make your own starch based paste? Awesome!
