THINKS: (as hard an effort as I keep making that bugger always has a sting, (or maybe 'stink' ), in his confounded tail or tale! What have I ever done to him, that merits such conduct?)

I have a couple of thoughts on this, even though it's been stated that it's not going to occur.

My own son would not speak for me and in fact, I think he would wonder why you were sucking up to him to get to me. Love me, love my kids, but don't use them as a means to an end. (And if that were the case, why not invite the son to dinner instead of a friend?)

Impressed. Hmm... If you were looking for brownie points it would not impress me at all. Frankly, if I felt I needed a chaperone, you would not have gotten my address to begin with.

I would far prefer a bouquet of daisies given in sincerity than two dozen roses given to show what one can "do" for me to fluff up one's own ego.

Bottom line, things and sweet words are a dime a dozen and mean nothing if they are expected to bring some sort of "return" for your effort. Gifts of the heart are far more valuable in my mind. (Such as it is. )
