If anyone was wondering, I did end up coming to NO alone. I'm having a good time, although definitely a much different experience than when I come with friends. Thanks for the encouragement.

So glad you decided to make the trip solo. I doubt I would be brave enough to travel alone. I don't know if I could have been as diplomatic as you've been if a girlfriend left me in the lurches like that, either. Maybe taking the trip anyway makes it easier since your money didn't go to waste. Anyway, kudos to you! It's great that you're having a good time!

Sweet! I'd go for the food alone! That and the chance to poke (at my leisure) in all the fun shops, without worrying whether or not my companion was bored.

Actually, after some drama at the hotel, I ended up getting 400 dollars refunded to me, so it really worked out well.
