By the way...there is sole and soul.

Sole is the bottom of your shoe.

Soul is the guy who played Hutch in Starsky and Hutch.

You forgot, "sole" is also a fish. I'm hopeful, when I order it, that it's not of the same texture and consistency as the sole you mention.

And the previous sentence reminds me of the constant misuse of "hopefully" and "hopeful."

Care to explain "bad" and "badly" to them while you're at it?

I saw where someone talked about then and than. I've seen those used incorrectly TOO MANY TIMES!

Somebody did go over it's and its, right?

Originally posted by AngelicAssassin You can only use principle as a noun, but can use principal as a noun, or adjective. Therefore, the principal assistant principal can whip your @ss for not following accepted principles of behavior in school.
The word that ends in pal is the head man of the school. I learned that in high school, I think. My teacher said that is easy to remember because he is your pal.

I have a story that I could tell you about our high school principal. I think I'll save it for my "You had to be there" thread. He didn't have a lot of principles, that guy.

how far is this Natzi thread going to go? We have so far to go, if you really want to do it right.

IE words. Or should I say EI words? Believe, conceive, neighbor, weigh, etc.

"I" before "E" except after "C", or when sounding like "A" as in neighbor and weigh.

Then we have lead and lead. You can lead a horse to water, but...

And, a lead vest is good to keep too many X-Rays from getting to you.

Ensure.

Insure. Take a real close look at the second definition.

If your tail was on the line, subject to bufu by Netzi and Shadowsdream, which would you pick? And no, you don't even get a reach around for a consolation prize.

ty post was edited based on what I found.

You might be mistaken there...I don't play the 50 yard line. Chewing thumbtacks would probably be more fun for them I would think. However, your projection problem is duely noted. ;)

snickers yes the mis-spelling is noted lol

Well, i'm sure that it's been put up, but the ones I have problems with are their/there and its/it's. I just want to go on record as saying, I know that I mess those up regularily, and I apologize, I just can't seem to keep them straight in my head. It's really irritating to me that I find this so freaken difficult.

reminds me of an R&B act from the old days...The Filly of Soul. She sure could sing de blues.

On a SCALE of 1-10...11. But she had regional aclaim, only. I guess my 1-10 Scale was a bit bias. I was fishin' for a better finish to my story.

Merry Christmas, I'm off to work!

You know, RJM -

This might be true; but I'm sure some on these boards would flip for your engine in their caboose ...

...the word duel as a choice....

So, is this a case of "verbal fisticuffs", "a choice - N or SD" ('duely') or perhaps "verbal gymastics for flexibility between the two" ('dually') in reference to AA's projection problem?

Add: duel and dual to the list ...

I think the duality of using the incorrect spelling of the non-word "duely" was a clever way to respond to AA. It was a classic bait and switch move on my part, hoping AA would be distracted enough by the mis-spelling of the word so as to not catch the cryptic dual meaning. I did this in the hopes I could effectly parry his verbal repertoire.

For those watching such a verbal exchange of friendly banter/duel, I would lay my money on AA instead of the guy who falls into the barrel of shyt and comes out smelling like a rose.

I am just glad we didn't have to deal with the dynamic duo as that would have been just too much. Then again, maybe that is who he was refering to when he mentioned SD and Netz. :)

Bro, you either just woke up, have a hangover, or want a duelling dual penetration after your last post.

i'd have to hire a backhoe to get you out of that last grammatical and spelling hole in the ground.

When you're talking about a person, use "who". When you're talking about a thing, use "that". When talking about a person's thing... well, your choice. :D
Not quite FU. Click me. Take a look at the usage section.

Do not use which to refer to persons. Use who instead. That, though generally used to refer to things, may be used to refer to a group or class of people. And Shakespeare did use that at least once ... <I'll make a ghost of him that lets me -- Shakespeare> To top it off, the plural of that is those and frequently gets used when referring to people. Those who think the time has come will die first.

Are we having fun yet?
