Do many people here laugh in your sleep? I have woken myself up laughing 3 times in the past month. I cant ever really remember what I am laughing about and it really doesnt bother me. I was just wondering if anyone else does it or know if it means something or what.

Laughing? No. You must have woken up cheerful... nice. A few times from talking, a few times from crying (not so nice) and even two or three times (in my life!) from having an orgasm (while not remembering the dream.... hmmm), but laughing? No. Would like to though.... :)

Yep, I've woken myself up laughing a couple of times. :D I don't think it necessarily means anything . . . it's just like waking up crying, only happier. :D

Yep... Did it just the other day.

I think that the only thing that it means is that you were having a really good time in your dream.

i woke up laughing just this morning. funny to see this thread. i have never woken myslef up like that before. it was nice even though i dont remember now what i was laughing about.

My guy laughs in his sleep all the time...it's fucking hilarious.

My husband was talking to me the other night while I was sleeping. The funny thing is that I can't remember any of it and he thought I was awake. He even said I was agreeing on things and I even laughed. hahaha...I can wake myself up if I am crying in my sleep but thats usually in my dreams.

Wifey says i've done, but it's never woken me up. I've also been known to carry on full conversations while asleep. And sometimes I throw out crazy random lines while asleep. She'll laugh about it for days sometimes.

One of my fondest memories of my eldest child was walking by his crib, on my way to bed, and hearing him laugh in his sleep. He was only about a year old. Thought we must be doing something right as parents.

I don't laugh in my sleep but I grind my teeth. My lady friend taped it, sounds like a hand scratching a dry erase board

I have, but it has been a while since that happened. A few nights ago, I woke myself up crying, but I can never remember my dreams.

Yes, I have been known to laugh in my sleep. The one I do remember happened when I was much younger and was on vacation with my family. I was having a dream where I was in this building with lots of pillars and shallow pools of water (kind of like what you would see in the Roman days. I remember the girls from the tv show "Facts of Life" being there and we were all trying to jump over the pools of water. I think I started laughing when Natalie was trying to jump over her pool.

I am not sure if this is any correlation because I do not remember if it happened before the dream or not, but on that same vacation, my dad had slipped on a very slick rock in a river in Sedona, AZ and hit his head. He ended up having stitches. :( Definitely was not a laughing moment.

I sleep with my eyes open.

Yes thats right I do sleep with my eyes open, I have no control over it and have no idea that I am doing it. But I have scared the HELL out of my family when I was younger and my EX g/f many of times.

I just lye there with my eyes open looking straight ahead, or at times I've been told that at time they looked as if there where moving in small circles.

Other things I know I've done is in a dream I fell off a building and in my sleep my whole body jumped up and off the bed. Like I rolled off just to make it clear I didn't stand up and just I jerked off and fell off.

I have also woke up and been completely paralized I couldn't move nothing arms, legs my head nothing. Scared the SHIT out of me.

STRANGE ????

No have never woken up laughing. Have woken up really wet, and bothered. As far as the eyes open. Have not done that either ... but I did know someone who does, and you are right. Very creepy to see that. I would always close their eyes real lightly not to wake them. Within 10 min. eyes would be back open ... asleep.

Have woken up or at least realized that there was a form of concensious about me but couldn't move not even my eyes! Then awoke with a great spazium(?) and sort of masive muscle contraction. Scared the beJesus out of my wife!

I was going through a rough period at work once and my teath began to shatter, splinter, and chip piecies off. The dentist made me a mouth guard (after repairing the damage)

The part of the brain the controls sleep is mostly in the mudulla and brain stem. Sometime injuries in this area can cause sleep problems that seem unexplainable in any other ways.

I too have awakened myself up from loud laughter and I also grind my teeth..... guess Im not alone.....

I've never woken myself up by laughing, but I talk, and carry on entire conversations in my sleep. One other thing I do from time to time is fight in my sleep. I've had family and friends and roommates tell me that on more than one occasion they've watched me be fast alseep and be fighting my sheets, throwing punches, kicks, and even one time I woke myself up by putting a hole in my wall near my bed with my hand.

yes

I have laughed and woken up laughing and also woke up screaming.

One time I dreamt I had a spider under my jammies and lept out of bed while throwing them to the floor and stomping on them. Screaming the whole time (hate spiders). Now thinking back I don't even remember gettin out of bed....like I flew. Now it is funny to me.
