the point i made on this thread is the fact that everything i say about people in general , is taken by you to mean you personally . you have just proved my argument with this quote .
unless i name you specifically, then i dont mean you specifically.
is that too dificult to comprehend?

not really , quite modest in fact

So what's the requirements? Just being a complete and total write-off as a human being?

i wouldnt know about that , perhaps as an outsider you can give me your views on the human race

Sure. I'm in favour of the Human Race as a whole, even if they do abuse the planet that did bring them life. My only quarrel with the Human Race is that they seem to have a whole bunch of idiots and spastics in their midst.

dont you believe in diversity in the world?

Do I believe in it? Well I'd really have to have the blinders on to not believe in it. I think it's been fairly well established that there is diversity in the world.

Also, I believe in good punctuation and capitalization.

good capitalization and punctuation would mean being assimilated to the norms of society , a lack of these is a form of diversity . how about spelling ?
do you not mean blinkers?
that is the accepted term in most of the english speaking world.

Man, your grasp of the language is awful. I'd have said blinkers if I meant blinkers. I meant blinders, as in, things that prevent me from seeing. Not blinkers.

And good punctuation and capitalization aren't forms of assimilation, they're signs of intelligence and maturity. Especially in a medium where we rely so much on the written word.

And if you revise your question to "Do I believe in diversity when writing in the English language" I'd have to say no. There is correct and there is incorrect

Blinkers and blinders are interchangeable.

blinders: A pair of leather flaps attached to a horse's bridle to curtail side vision. Also called blinkers. Something that serves to obscure clear perception and discernment.

Not trying to assimilate you into the norms of society, just trying to point out that it tends to bleed at the edges.

Yeah but blinders sounds better.

Oh, I agree. Blinkers connote a car signalling a turn in my mind. Blinders are more descriptive of obscuring a person's vision or perception.

Also, I was listening to a song where they say "blinders". So, techinically, I used the word I wanted too. Correctly, to boot. :)

in that case you believe that all regional dialects , variations and differences should be abolished as well?
a language is a living thing . it grows and evolves with its users . the language that does not evolve dies [george orwell]
blinders / blinkers . doesnt the fact that there are two words to describe the same object show diversity of language?
your argument is flawed

Yes, yes I do.

Your mother is flawed.

I think we need to distinguish between the written and spoken langages, pablo. Regional dialects provide a rich history to our common language, and eventually they become part of the written communication as well. (Example: "Doh" was just recently added to the dictionary, though it has been in the vernacular for years now.)

The point of the written language is to provide a bit of uniformity to our communication. After the rules have been established, they can be bent or broken to illustrate a point. e.e. cummings is a great example of this. I would not consider the intentional manipulation of written language rules to be diversification in the same sense as regional dialects contribute to the diversification of the oral language. It is done for different reasons, and achieves different results. Your lack of rule following elicits a significantly different response than a diversified use of words. It follows no pattern, is inconsistent with the use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules. You intend an entirely different response to your writings than one who chooses blinders over blinkers, yes?

the only inconsistancy in my spelling [apart from typos caused by an adversity to proof reading ]
is the fact that i use english [british] spelling
