Laying Down the Law

I could not believe what he had done. Yet again he made plans with out even asking me. All it would of taken was a hey Susan do you mind if....but did he no. I couldn't be in the same room as him anymore. So I decided to sit out on the patio. Sitting out there a lot had crossed my mind.

To many thoughts mixed with to much anger was what I told myself. That was what led me to loose myself in a book. That had always been my safe haven, reading. I could read anything and fantasize. Of course that was not reality I knew that. But I could still fantasize about it, and I did.

Finally after having sat out there for a few hours I went back inside to find Bobby. Of course he was in his office working, as always. It seemed he spent more time on his computer then with me.

"Why is Mike coming Bobby, you have to work....and you know me and him have never really got along all that well why would you leave me alone in a house with him for hours a day?"

I asked him. My voice wasn't its simple tone, it was agitated and annoyed. I did try though. I tried to be calm with him, to keep my temper in check, but it was always so easy to simply loose it around him.

I knew him and Mike were best friends and I knew he probably told the man everything. Our marriage wasn't perfect, I knew that but it was working.

It was just that I felt as if something was missing, although I had no clue what it was. The men in the books I read could make me feel better then Bobby and that was sad. They were simply books for crying out loud, yet they still did more for me.

Although there is a difference in reading and fantasizing about thing and then actually doing them. Neither me or Bobby were perfect I knew that, but I knew I loved him and I didn't want our marriage to fail.

I could not believe his attitude towards me. What was this man thinking.? Standing there feeling as if I was about to loose control over my house I glared at Mike.

"Mike why in the hell should I do anything you say....you have absolutely no respect what so ever."

Mike had always tried to make his dominance known with me, and it had always driven me insane. Although there was something I liked about it, it was Mike though and I just could not get past that part.

I knew now that Bobby had called Mike in for help. More then likely due to our sex life and how life had been lately in general. Yes I loved the man I truly did.

Not waiting for Mike to respond I had decided to leave the room and call our friend Jill. She was another friend we had who we had known for years. Having gone outside so the boys wouldn't hear me.

"Hey Jill its Susan I need to talk to you."

"Suzie I have missed you how you been?"

I could hear the excitement in her voice to be talking to me again. Of course when I got to the point of the conversation we would see where the conversation would go.

"Well lets see my marriage is good not great not grand but good, the sex well we will get to that but here is the kicker we have our problems I get that but my lovely husband had called in Mike."

The silence followed by that statement told me Jill remember who Mike was all to well. They had dated for a while but had broken up due to some differences. Differences Jill was not willing to share, which was odd but I had let it go.

"Well why did he call him in?"

"Jill I don't know, the man drives me nuts but before we get to far let me tell you something... I don't know how to say it though...well the sex....I like it simple and easy buts its like a recipe that is missing some spices to it, problem is I don't know whats missing."

I heard Jill's sigh and then the yelling to the kids came followed by a quick apology and a I gotta go bye click... Standing on the patio over looking the pool I felt the need to just disappear. Finally going back inside I went to where the men where now out. Having taken the apron off and setting in by the garbage to be taken out already.
