Learning together (Closed for Led Astray)

"Ok, ah, what do you fancy?" asked Adam, captivated by the smile Raveena was giving him. After a long moment, he looked away. "Um, as long as it isn't too exotic the kitchens can pretty much rustle up anything, even if it isn't shown on the menu."

Don't fall for this woman, idiot... Adam thought to himself. she's your boss, near as dammit, and she isn't interested in anything other than work, you'll just look like a bloody fool...

He stepped back inside and put his hand on the phone. "I think I'm going to keep it simple, a steak sandwich and a side of chips - er, what you'd call fries, I mean."

That sounds great Philly Cheese steak if they can make it and fries and salad would be great and a chai tea... I don't trust the beer around here.

She glanced over watching him. It was definitely different working with someone other than Phillipe but this was his son so it wasn't too weird.

"Oh, don't worry about the beer - they are looking for western tourists, remember? So they have a good selection imported from europe. And a couple from India and China - Tsing Tao is pretty good, if you like lagers. Or wine."

"In fact, it's the salad you might want to watch out for - depends on how clean the water they wash the leaves in is..."

He reached for the phone, picked it up and stopped, his finger hovering over the room-service button.

"Ahh, sorry. You'll have to give me some description of, um, a philly cheese steak... or talk to the kitchen yourself, of course." said Adam, blushing slightly.

"I mean, steak, I can guess, and cheese I'm assuming melted on top - but anything else? Fried onions, maybe?"

She took the phone quickly explaining a Philly Cheese steak to the chef hoagie style roll with the chopped up thin sliced steak with grilled onions and mushrooms mixed in the meat with provolone cheese some fries and a beer. Then handing the phone back to Adam for him to order whatever he wanted.

Sitting back she was relaxed and getting edgy to get to work down time was strange to her to say the very least especially in the company of someone who should be modeling not photographing. It was strange while she could see the beauty but she was alone. This guy was however quite attractive... NO nothing needs to take her mind off of her work.

The food ordered, Adam went over to the room's minibar - although in the case of this luxury suite, "mini" was perhaps not an accurate description - it was in fact a very well stocked chiller cabinet larger than the fridges in many homes.

He found a cold bottle of german lager and poured it into a glass. "Did you want one too?" he asked, then brought it back over to the table where his laptop stood. "Here, let me show you the image viewing software I use..."

Pulling up a second chair for his attractive lady boss, Adam started to show her how his location shots were organised so that she would be able to browse them herself. The small screen meant they had to sit very close together, their shoulders touching whenever they leaned in to look more closely at a particular picture.

The nearness of this beautiful woman, the scent of her fresh from the bath, made Adam's heart pound. It was almost a relief when there was a knock at the door and a muffled voice called out.

"Room Service"

Adam quickly jumped to his feet and went to the door to collect the food, handed Raveena her meal and sat down to eat, taking the opportunity to move his chair a little away from hers.

I like the ruins... yeah the purple dress and that black Native inspired "suit" for more formal business times. Perfect.

Where is this? The breezeway ancient structure looking local... I want the Bridal pictures here.

She smiled seeing the food and moved over to the table with a huge smile.

"The breezeway? Oh.. I think that is near the market gate. Its all that remains of the structure that used to be one of the defensive gates of the city, I think, before the British Empire took over and forced them to tear down the city walls to prevent any successful future rebellion."

Playing the good host, Adam poured the tea and handed Raveena the cup, his fingers briefly brushing hers.

"Not the proudest moment in British history... but long in the past now. This country is not even part of the commonwealth anymore."

He looked down at the philly cheese steak… “Uh, wow… that looks delicious… but how do you eat stuff like that and…” but then he caught himself, his voice trailed off and he blushed.

She smirked knowing what he wanted to ask.

And what Adam?

Unable to meet her eyes, Adam stares at the table.

"Ah... how do you eat stuff like that and still look so, um, stunning?"

Easy I am constantly on the go always working and moving and rarely sit down and really enjoy a meal but when I do its this.

She smiled to him to see what he had ordered.

Why don't you order one sometime

"Ah, well, the steak sandwich isn't that different.., a good steak, grilled, put between two slices of thick white bread, some fried onions... so, like yours, without the cheese and without having the steak chopped..."

Adam picked up his sandwich and took a bite. The meat was rare, very rare, pink and tender. He chewed it, and swallowed, then looked across at Raveena's plate.

"But yes, next time I shall have to try it your way... it does smell very good..."

She smiled taking a bite of her food and all but basking in the flavor till she swallowed the bite.

Might have to try the steak sandwich like you ordered it.

Sitting back she relaxed and ate before going over the other locations he had photographed. Always back to work... it was safer and more sane to her than anything else.

Adam finished his steak hungrily, and drained his beer.

"Well, look, it's getting later and whilst you've already had a rest it has been a long day for me. You can look at the pictures, make a note of the file-names and I can cross-reference them on my location map for you in the morning."

Adam smiled, standing and looking down at his attractive companion.

"Our appointment is ten-thirty, but the escort will probably turn up at 9:30 to take us to meet the client... is there anything you need to do before then? I mean, do I have to get up early or can I, ah, have a bit of a lie in?"

Sleep in if they show up before time to pick us up there will be hell for someone to pay they will just have to point out the idiot that said show up early.

Smiling she nodded and went back to looking at the pictures.

Good night Adam... rest well.

"And, hey... just because you fell OK now, doesn't mean you should stay up all night, you know? You need to get adjusted to the local clock..."

Said Adam. Then he grinned ruefully. "But I, ah, kinda guess I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs... it's not like you are a stranger to travel. Goodnight, Raveena."

And with that, the young photographer headed off into his room. Raveena could hear the sounds of him showering for a few minutes, then the sounds of him moving around the room, and then everything went quiet.

She continued looking through pictures ending up as usual falling asleep lounging in the chair the last pictures she was sorting through still on the screen. Sleeping there through the night till they called up from downstairs to let them know when the transport would be arriving to take them to meet with the royal family.

Foolishly, Adam had forgotten to turn on the air-conditioning in his room. Not used to having the amenity, he had forgotten all about it.

As a result, his sleep was fitful. Clad only in his jersy boxers, he was still too hot, even under a single sheet. Too self-conscious to sleep without any cover at all, he settled for an awkward arrangement in which the sheet was rucked up into a narrow band covering his groin and stomach whilst his legs splayed out either side.

He eventually woke, not very well rested, groggy and not thinking clearly.

"Coffee..." he mumbled. "Everything is better after coffee."

Having gotten used to having the suite to himself for a week, and not really fully awake, Adam lurched through into the lounge and headed for the tea and coffee making facilities tucked away next to the bar.

Clad only in his boxers, rubbing tiredness from his eyes, he didn't even notice Raveena sitting on the couch.

She glanced over as she hung up the phone and for a moment forgot that they would be there soon to pick the two of them up.

Good... morning.

Looking around she could not help but laugh.

Looks like I fell asleep on the job. They will be here in 30 to pick us up.

"Wha...? Oh god, sorry!"

Coffee forgotten, red with embarrassment, Adam fled back to his room and emerged 10 minutes later, dressed, still looking somewhat disheveled and carrying a couple of equipment bags.

"Uh, good morning..." he said, shutting down his laptop and stowing it in one of the bags. "Uh, I guess we don't have time for breakfast then?"

A faint chuckle silently slipped from her lips once he was back in his room straightening herself up before he returned.

Oh no we have time to eat I told them if we were not ready the security escort would simply have to wait.

Standing she took off to her room to get ready as well then to the coffee pot for a large mug of hot black coffee

After listening to Raveena's explanation, Adam nodded. He wasn't used to the idea of having this much power in a relationship with a client. She is so confident, I bet she gets whatever she wants

"I still don't think we should keep the client waiting too long... I think I'll stick with a bowl of cereal, if I have anything too heavy in this heat I'll be asleep before noon..."

Joinng her at the coffee pot, he filled his own mug with the strong, black brew.

"Snap!" he grinned, childishly, holding his mug up to hers. "Have you always taken your coffee black?"

Always

She raised a brow to his question while drinking her coffee.

The Royals will not be kept waiting just their over zealous guards who think they know it all.

"I used to drink mine with milk, lots of suger." replied Adam, grinning.

"But when I became a student, I became too lazy to walk to the fridge to get the milk."

He sipped the bitter brew.

"Though at home it's usually instant - most people back home have kettles, not coffee machines, and it's instant coffee or tea..."

He pulls a "yuck" face.

"Can't abide tea... anyway, we should probably have breakfast downstairs, seems a bit silly to have them deliver a bowl of cornflakes to the top floor..."

Fine and I like tea too just gotta have the morning coffee.

Finishing off her cup she sets it down and turns to get her stuff to head sown to the dining room down stairs.

Lets go I highly doubt they would be too thrilled about that.

Adam nods as she collects her gear, and gathers his own.

"Good idea, no sense in having to come back up before we go."

He follows her to the elevator, and soon they are riding down to the ground floor as recent pop-songs rescored for a full orchestra fill their ears.

"Elevator music..." grins Adam, shaking his head ruefully.
