There are a few dead cooking threads and maybe this will also die BUT I think, if you’re like me, you live to know what other people are cooking for dinner. Or lunch. Or prepping for breakfast. Or a new item they tried at a new cafe. Or a food item from their culture. You know, all the food items.
And if you’re like me, you also try to eat in a healthful way but generally fail. Whoops.
I am going to share what I’m cooking, what I have cooked, foods I’m trying on travels, and healthier things I’m trying to do in the food department.

Will you join me for dinner?

Recipe links, recipes, photos all encouraged. Nee, demanded!

Menu items for the week, above been and will be swamped u too after the new year with work, family, and travel…
- Chickpea paprikash - easy and would make again. Makes a lot if you like leftovers and you could easily use high protein pasta like Banza or Brami (brami tastes better)
- turkey and cheese sliders. No recipe, just Hawaiian slider rolls, turkey and cheese and a honey mustard glaze in the oven. A huge hit with kids.
- latkes. Lots of latkes. IYKYK.
- I also baked cookies for my spouse’s office.

How do you handle meal planning, prep, or feeding yourself (and your soul) when life gets insanely busy like it is during the holidays?

I fly by the seat of my pants… I’m new to having to feed more people than just me, due to life circumstances, and I feel like I’m winging it and dropping balls all over the place. Meal planning for like a week feels totally out of reach 😂 Usually I’m scrambling around late afternoon trying to figure out what we have ingredients for because I hate having to go to the store after work…

I'm a single woman with no kids; I don't meal plan or prep LOL

I am wholeheartedly a "fly by the seat of my pants" kinda person when it comes to food. I'm lucky in that I live in a place that has pretty much anything available to me should I want it.

My favorite thing to have on hand for those nights is boxed mac and cheese (I mix the cheese powder with some milk and cottage cheese in a blender and it’s so rich and creamy). It’s cheap and full protein and everyone loves it. It feels like a little treat because it’s boxed mac and cheese. Which is legitimately the best kind.

Good morning! Looks like I’m going to keep trying to make fetch happen here!

I’ll ask a breakfast question!

What makes brunch so damn good? Do you have a favorite brunch item? Are you a bottomless brunch fan? Or, is brunch just overpriced breakfast?

My wife is Hungarian. I will try to surprise her with this!!

I am pro veggie tray.

Here is a hummus recipe - you’ll never need to buy it again.

2 cans of chick peas (drained)
4 tsp garlic or 4-5 garlic cloves
1/3 cup tahini
1/8 cup olive oil
1 lemon worth of lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Put in food processor for about 5 minutes.

Missing the ice cold water. That’s how you get it smooth. Slowly add it to the food processor. And serve at room temp.

Ok, maybe people will answer questions?

Sunday funday
Do you spend Sundays prepping your meals, meal planning, or taking the time to make a more involved meal because it’s a slower day?
