Let it snow

Not denying the nuts part, but I'm pretty tired of six inches of dirty slush and spray from the cars going by. Maybe I won't make that move TOO far north. There has to be a happy medium somewhere.

There's a hill on the university grounds that they decided to put a sidewalk on (silly school), and it's absolute hell when it's snowing. Some of my friends and I sit next to the hill and watch all the unsuspecting (usually freshmen) people walk part way down, then slide the rest of the way on their tush. So we all giggle, then go down and help the person up and give them a free ticket to some dorm-life event. Hey, I've got a conscience some of the time.

The more snow ya get, the more slush that comes down the road. It all melts eventually. I would advise you to avoid Minnesota if you are looking to venture north for a little bit of happy winter memories. This place sucks when the snow flies.

did you know that there are actually 5 seasons up in Alaska? spring, summer, fall, winter, and "the breakup" (or "the thaw", or "when all that fucking mud comes around")

but it hasn't really snowed any significant amount for a week or two, but that's not saying that the weather is good. see, we have this thing called "ice fog" that covered the area for about 48 hours starting on saturday. lots of accidents happened saturday evening, sunday, and monday morning despite the fact that we can use studded tires on our cars. it was baaaaaaad.

Damn Myst it's still almost warm here in Kentucky, I am starting to wonder if winter weather is ever going to get here.............Be careful in the yuck, don't slip and slide too much, at least outside

Snow

The snow here is so wet that it is slush. I just spent over two hours shoveling and my shoulders are so sore I can't believe it. I wish I lived way down south...<sigh>

Well, it hasn't snowed here yet.

I am torn on the whole snow issue right now.

I am SO in the mood for Christmas, and I WANT snow.

However, we are going to be moving in to a new house over the next two weekends, so snow is bad, because I don't want to be tromping through it.


But a nice lazy white snow fall, leaving just a dusting on the ground... that would be nice. Instead, we are still have rain showers, and thunderstorms. In November. Almost December. It blows.

I wish it was snowing here, we just got rain. My roommate is from brazil and he has been begging for the stuff forever. Usually when the first snowfall comes everyone goes up to the big sled hill on campus, gets waisted and sleds down the hill. I want snow, so I can do that!!!

I just love snow! I get such a charge out of shoveling heap upon heap of that wonderfully wet white powder, day after day, week after week. And oh the fun of slipping and sliding around on the highway on the way to work! I just love the fact that I get to leave for work an hour early, so i can putter my way down the highway, because most people are just scared shitless to drive faster than 25 mph. I can't wait for breaks at work, so I can stand out in the cold and wet, and shiver my way through a cigarette. Makes me wish we had snow all year long!!!!

I've seen snow exactly twice in my life, and I'm preparing to see it again for a week in Dec/ Jan when I visit two dear friends in Vermont/ New Hampshire. Any survival tips? (Note: I will NOT be driving, I do not have a death wish, of that sort anyway)
