Having an 'out of body' moment. Just checked my three Daughter of Lilith chapters pending publication. They have been in the queue for a week to more than a month. But today 4/20 their submission dates read 4/21, 4/22, and 4/23. A mild WTF moment. Glad to see they have been seen and are in the queue, but I didn't just edit and re-post them. Anybody else see this kind of 'redating'?

That just means the site has scheduled the chapters for posting, 24 hours apart. This is not new.

You're sure the status isn't PUBLISHED now?
Listed in my 'pending' file. But also with a label of 'published' and 'new'. Except that I can't open them because they are still pending. So, perhaps, I can assume they will be published in the next three days? Never seen one of my stories with a 'publication date' before. I'd put a post on my profile for my 3 or 4 fans and followers that new chapters are imminent. But what if they aren't? "Anticipation is making me wait..." Thanks Carly Simon. (Someone whose family should certainly know about publishing....)

I have a story "Published" but still "Pending". It was due to go live on 21/April. That is today by my system clock, but not by the Literotica server.

That's normal. They've been queued to publish when the site updates the stories, which happens starting at about midnight for the US east coast. I think there's some seasonal discrepancy because their servers don't seem to observe the 'spring forward, fall back' clock chicanery (I wish I could).

I've wondered where Literotica 'is'. HQ is listed in Essex, GB, but I don't know where Manu and Laurel or any minions they have cranking the machine actually reside. I'm always pleased to see readers who are 'Limeys', or 'Ozzies', or 'Kiwis', or Hindustanis, or the odd European. I've assumed Lit is banned in China, and yet at least one of my stories is pirated on a Chinese site. T'would be great to see the geographic range of Lit readership/writership.

I believe they've (wisely) chosen not to make many of their personal details public. The site's trademark is owned by a digital asset management company based in Nevada, and from the legalese in the FAQ sections the site itself is pretty clearly a US-based organization. I presume the site's servers are located on the US east coast, based on what I mentioned earlier, but that has no bearing on where L&M actually reside. I like to picture Laurel and her kitties in a gabled Victorian house in a small town in Massachusetts. I imagine Manu lives in the Central Valley of Cali in a split-level ranch-style bungalow.

The stories go live at 7am GMT, so I've always assumed the servers were publishing at midnight in their time zone - US Mountain, I believe? I can picture Laurel in Colorado.

Now that you mention it, I think you're right. For at least part of the year I see stories appearing at midnight, but if they were actually on the East Coast, I should be seeing them starting around 2300 the night before, and I don't think I've ever noticed that. So it probably is more likely that I'm an hour ahead of them.

That might be applicable to whatever company holds the trademark for them in the UK, but if you read the FAQ, it seems pretty likely that the site is US-based. I think what the site says about itself is more likely to be accurate.
In the event that I'm seeing regional-specific information, can someone from Europe or Australia (or wherever else) confirm that FAQ > Legal > Law Enforcement says "Literotica responds to legitimate requests from official U.S. law enforcement agencies" and/or "If you have a copyright issue, please check our DMCA Notice page". The DMCA is a US copyright law that is unlikely to be referenced outside of US jurisdictions.

Oh, and there's this:

5. International transfers of your personal data (for EU residents)

  • 5.1 In this Section 5, we provide information about the circumstances in which your personal data may be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
  • 5.2 We and our other group companies have our main offices and facilities located in The United States of America, not the EU.

Seems to be the same; that's how this page looks in Europe:
