Let's make a new tag for actual Loving Wives' readers.

You can shut off voting and comments. I personally would like to be able to shut off anonymous voting and comments but that's not possible.

It doesn't really matter where you hide the stories, they will find them, and dig them up and hit them with one bombs, and if that's not enough, they'll make up something to satisfy their own petty desires. I had a story with an FFM where the guy was tied up and some "Uno-bomber" hit it and called it cuckoldry. I think his vote was cleaned up in a sweep not long after.
You can shut off Anonymous comments. It's in you Author's options. Go to Author Options, then to My Options. You can't, unfortunately stop Anon from voting.

I saw that, but it shuts that off for ALL stories, I was hoping to be able to shut it off for individual stories.

The idea of cuckoldry, wives that cheat (no matter their reason), or husband watching his wife with another man offends a lot men with low self-esteem. Especially those who've been cheated on, had a wife/girlfriend criticize their lovemaking technique, their size, or in general be dissatisfied with the man. They either live in fear of being hurt, or have been hurt and can't get past it. I don't understand the vitriol, however, I can understand them not understanding others liking the category. I don't understand at all, their insistence in reading and commenting on things they know going in they will hate. I can't understand them down voting a writer in the other categories they post in. But this is another issues we'll talk to death and not have a solutions for. :) Still, we can try!

I love this so much! I am going to use every word you wrote to reply to every anony-mouse with size issues that dares to respond to a story of mine basing an opinion that originated in their poorly conceived ideas of cuckoldry.

I enjoy reading folks comments on this topic. I like to post my stories in LW because it seems to me that is where most of the readers are. I could be wrong about that.
To me, I figure trolls will find my work anywhere, so why not stick with LW. Most seem to follow the stories very closely. That's okay with me too. That's why I write them.
You do need a thick skin, though.

True, it's definitely the place to go if you want some attention. One of my stories there (there are only two) I think set personal records for views, votes, and comments (purely numerical). Yes, some of the comments were scathing, but the present score of 3.45 - well, I've done a lot worse than that more than once.

Right now, however, I have nothing in the works that would fit into that category.

In most cases they don't even read the story, just blurt out a comment and 1-bomb it. I have a lot of idiots that do that.

Of course you do have the option of just deleting their comments, which I exercise judiciously. And most of those 1-bombs will be cleared out when they run a sweep of votes.

Hey Duleigh, I'm answering you twice! I've noticed that many Romance readers have their own expectations of what they like and yeah, they often don't like downbeat endings. Sometimes I put break-up stories in Non-erotic just to avoid such backlash.
Hmmmm on the "downbeat endings". Another area I need to be aware of then. I have several items in the works, some of them have endings that are not .... well not downbeat ... but more ... life. Which is often neither happily ever after nor crash and burn, but somewhere in between.

Perhaps I should, as most of you have stated, just write what I want to write, and just be aware that the reception it receives will be what they are.

I understand, we all take the story where it needs to go, wait until you read my entry for the Winter Holiday, and chapters 7 & 8 & 9 of We're a Wonderful Wife, they really took a toll on me, I'm having a tough time editing them, and anything else that I write comes out like a Halmark movie just to get past them. I am so pissed at my muse for giving me that story. I'm having a tough time trying to figure out where to put my Winter Holiday story... I think it's going to end up in Erotic Horror.

If your muse gives you a story, then take it, wherever it goes. A Winter Holiday Erotic Horror - that should be interesting.

Just make it about having a house full of family at Christmas, everyone has experienced that horror.

You must know my in-laws o_O
I actually got along pretty well with my in-laws, although they've passed a long time ago. And later I was divorced, so are they defined now as my late ex-in-laws? They both had unexpectedly odd/interesting backgrounds; maybe I should write something about them in Reviews and Essays. I'm sure it will be accepted.

My ex-wife's half-sister (on her mother's side) is quite a piece of work. I had some interesting visits with her, like at Thanksgiving. She could cook very well, however.

Duleigh (and lovecraft68 to start), you set me off on a big detour/digression here from the original topic, but you gave me some ideas. I already have some non-fiction on here as a change of pace.

It doesn't matter what "tags" or "keywords" you use.

Those trolls are always going to 1 bomb anything that isn't a complete BTB story.

Then they'll go onto their "Celebrity Sci-Fi" stories and use their Dorito powdered covered fingertips, to jack their baby carrot off, onto the underside of their fat gut.

That's as polite as I can talk about them too.

You're giving them credit. They don't have to jack off their premature ejaculation issues has them dribbling down their leg before the end of the story. Also, Doritos are pricey these days and its not like many of them have jobs.

You're right......Cheesy Puffs then.

Has anyone tried using "loving wives" as a tag for a submission placed in another category? I'm curious. I never have, even though most of my stories involve infidelity.

I think finding a LW workaround is unnecessary. It's already built into Lit. I've usually just written "properly" LW-ish stories and posted them in some other category, and they've always done fine.
Unless you are willing to accept the risk of lower scores , bad comments, and potential bombing of other stories, I think this is the best advice.

I cant recall using loving wives as a tag but I've used hot wife in the EV category with good results.

Correction: I double checked. I've used "loving wife" as a tag twice, once for a story in Letters and once for a story in Loving Wives.

Both stories did OK in terms of favorites and comments, but their scores are significantly lower than my average. My Letters story, Dear Matt, got some very complimentary comments and a couple LW-troll type comments. I don't know if the tag "loving wife" had anything to do with that. I probably will not use the term again, because as LC wrote I think it's probably more of a bullseye than anything.

I've only written one story featuring a married couple who pick up two strangers at a bar (a guy and a girl) to take home for sex.

After much debate and discussion here, i posted it in Group Sex, not LW.

It's done pretty well. 20k views, 4.77 rating and no hate comments lol.

To me, anon voting is a good thing. For years and years, I read and voted anonymously, and do believe there are a lot of people who read and comment without having a profile. being anonymous is the easy route, not necessarily a way to hide one's identity. I had no reason to create a profile on Literotica as long as I was just here to read.
