Yes. I tend to be much more attracted to personality than physical qualities. Ironically, once I see and feel how attractive they are as a person, they automatically become more physically attractive to me. The sex was no different than with someone more 'good looking'. Some people are crap at it, some are good. I've not found a correlation between physical appearance and performance. However, I'm happy to set up a real experiment and report back.

And then people wonder why females have so many insecurities about their looks, and feminists are scorned for promoting how to not care what men think.

Unless I'm having sex with an ex, nothing from the past would enter my mind, at least not consciously. Sex is like reading James Joyce, all stream of consciousness, from one small movement or caress to the next, allowing only the heat between you to determine the next fleeting step. It's the kind of focus that is the most difficult to interrupt. If I'm thinking of anything else, I'm doing a disservice to us both.

For most of my life, I have been very much an "in the moment" guy. Or at least, only focused on the experience at hand (I tend to think two or three "moves" ahead, I'm a planner).
Lately, like the last year or so, I've had more instances where I've wandered. To other women. To problems etc. But lately, I've really started getting back to my usual "chess type" sex.
