Light in the dark

What gives you hope, happiness, a piece of joy that, however small, is precious? I know there are other threads like this, but this one is very much for those who suffer from depression in some form or another.

What gives you light to follow out of the dark?

For me- it's those rare and wonderful people that I have in my life that give me an immense hope for the future of this fucked up world. No matter how close or how far they are from where I am- I hope they all know how much I admire them, and how much they inspire me.

Music.

There have been really lousy periods in my life where certain albums were the only things that pulled me through.

I agree with Nietzsche who said that "without music, life would be a mistake".

Well, now I have to ask what the other one was.

(Hope it isn't that "God is dead" thing. I believe he was actually one of the last to make that announcement - God probably dropped dead in western philosophy as early as the 18th century)
