I don't want to hijack this discussion, but I think it would be an interesting topic: Is it easier to lie about yourself here on Lit, or in real life? I suspect it is more common to lie in real life, just to make things go smoother, or to avoid hurting feelings. I suspect people may be more truthful here; if someone objects it's easier to just avoid them.
Now, back the the ongoing discussion, sorry to interrupt.

It's not exactly a hijack, it does relate to the topic du jour. I agree with everyone else, it sucks to portray yourself as something you're not, here or in RL. If you have to act like something you're not to be with someone, neither one of you is going to be happy in the long run. Plus it shows just how little self esteem you have. You don't have to put everything about yourself out there - geez, leave a little mystery- but be honest about what you do let others know. As far as whether it's easier to lie here or in RL, I would imagine it's much easier, and more common here. Who's gonna know? On the other hand, it's easier to really be yourself here too, IMO. There's a lot of acceptance in Lit.

Smiles. If I respond to Ella's clear flirt in kind I'm pretty sure I'd be in violation of the rules I've imposed on the place. Many here have said rules were meant to be broken. But I'm the OP, shouldn't I be above temptation? ;)

So here's my topic: what self imposed rules for being on Lit have you broken. You know, like the rule you told yourself you wouldn't get involved , maybe wouldn't give anyone your name, would never, ever, send a pic...

I think Because you're the OP, you can flirt with whoever you damn well please!

Ummmm......I've broken the majority of my rules:eek::eek:

Practically every rule I ever gave myself. No regrets, I think you really have no idea what to expect here when you're a newbie to things like this. It's a learning experience.

So I can take a post like yours and reply with "I usually do what I damn ell please, without complaints  " and that's all good ;)

lol, I just saw this...broke my own thread rules this morning and posted a picture. On a SUNDAY. Evil, wicked woman am I.

I've probably crossed over more self-imposed boundaries than I can even remember since I've been on this site. I think that pushing those limits is one of those unspoken Lit rules. Things you learn...

P.S. Me? Flirt? *swipes halo back from 'slinger
