Wow! You NEED a vacation! Are you obligated to work these hours, or are you one of the fortunate people that work that much because you have an awesome job?

I do need one more than you can possibly imagine. I have no doubt that I'm on the razor's edge of burning out (burning up?).

But, alas, I can't. The situation is such that I need to work a minimum these hours and have pangs of guilt for not being able to put in even more hours that are required.

Sometimes we mess up in life and choose poorly. It's worse to have a conscious that demands cleaning up one's own messes and deal with the consequences.

On the plus side, I should be able to retire 20+ years before the average bear and have as good if not better quality of life. That's the ONLY thing keeping me going. It just sucks having the realization that money really isn't everything and maybe a complete re-boot of one's life is not only necessary, but desirable.

But back on topic: I'm know to work outside in 5F temperatures wearing a T-shirt and no coat.

I understand what you mean. I've done my own share of messing things up, and will always be paying for it. That said, take care of yourself. It sounds like a vacation would be well-deserved.

I got thrown out of America Eagle outfitters for getting into a fight with a guy I played hockey against. (Some people can't leave it on hte ice!)

I can do leatherwork from scratch....my dad was a volunteer prison chaplain at loosianna state pen in the late 60's when it was a little rough there. He used to bring leather kits to his charges, they would complete them then he would sell them for the inmates on the outside so they could earn pocket money.

When i turned about 14 he got me the big Tandy western-style kit. Dunno if it was to dissuade me from a life of crime or in anticipation of future incarceration....

(A 60 hour week is a long week? I woked 60 hour weeks for almost all the years I worked. Most of the time I was a self employed Industrial Engineer. Some of the time I worked in high tech as a technical systems designer or system installer.

Anyone who worked for me was expected to work 50 or 60 hour weeks. They were more than adequately compensated.)

Little known fact about me: I have not shed a tear since I was 10ish -- even at the funerals of my parents and best friend.

What a great idea for a thread, Ima! I love it!

Let's see... Little known fact about me... I've been fortunate enough to deliver 2 babies, and also be with someone as they took their last breath. Where some people may not consider that fortunate, I look at it as a gift. I was able to be there for someone so they wouldn't have to die alone, and also able to be there to welcome a new life.

That's really beautiful. Seriously.

I'm weird about food because I have a really good sense of smell and therefore great tastebuds :).

I don't like my food touching. Especially if vegetables have some juice and it runs into some other food. I try to move it out of the way and I will eat that first.

I don't like melted ice cream and won't eat it.

I don't like milk, when I used to eat cereal I had to eat it really fast before the milk got warm or the cereal was soggy.

I don't eat a lot of leftovers, I always think it's old. I keep bread in the freezer since we don't eat a lot of it and I was throwing it out every week.
----

When I find a song I really like I will usually listen to it for days on repeat. All day long, not just a few hours.

I'm a bit obsessive about washing my hands.

I don't watch tv and haven't for at least 2 years, probably closer to 3 but I love Netflix. I watch one series at a time until it's done. I used to watch 2 or 3 but it wasn't as fun switching back and forth.

I don't drink because I don't like the taste of alcohol.

I love to read, I love makeup especially lipstick. I don't buy drugstore makeup and won't use it.

I am a good cook and I can bake as well.

I look at the world as black and white, I don't like fence sitting.

I am not crafty, if I can't finish a project in a day I never do (tried scrapbooking...bad idea)
