In the "New Forest" (neither new nor forest) the Ponies "run" (stand) wild.
here they gather at the bus stop...they ARE quite lazy.

more typically the seem to stand in the middle of the road.

Love it!

I was about to give you a potted history of the New Forest then, but I expect that would induce yawns galore.

Loved Burley, but seemed pretty over-run with tourists and as school is out...kids. When My wife was last there, she said it was nicer (quiter and more quaint)

OMG! That pub! I had lunch there with a "friend" last year. I won't go into what happened after that.

I'll write out my potted history of the ancient New Forest later. It's fascinating stuff, honest!

I love these quaint English places. When I was there I was struck with the fact that England was exactly the way I pictured it to be with all its history and architecture and quaint villages.

They've only kept the comfy red phone boxes in London to please the tourists zoot... most places they're open stainless steel and plastic half booths subject to all the piss poor weather.

BT are now asking local residents to pay extra on their domestic phone bill's if they want to keep a phone box in the area... Yes Cell phones have signed the death warrant on the public phone box.

Those things sell for a packet over here!!

Mostly used as garden ornaments, but still popular.
