London Explosions July 7th

My thoughts and condolences to all who are affected by this atrocity.

I am also adding my thoughts and prayers.

I still can not understand how people can cause such pain and suffering to others.

no conscience would be my guess..............

The last thing in the world I want to do is to minimize the pain and suffering that is being experienced in London right now....but.....does anyone "care" that 6,000 people died in Africa YESTERDAY and 6,000 people die every day in Africa? While some die a slow miserable death from AIDS or starvation, many others are being hacked to death with machette's. I feel for everyone...believe me I do....I wish all these things would happen to me so that others may be spared...but I just can't understand why the press beats a story to death about 33 deaths in London and/or one or two in Iraq but neglects to report on the misery in Africa especially since they're so obsessed with body counts.

Think about it....

Thoughts and prayers to all those involved ...
Its such a cowardly way to deal with issues , Bin ladin cant hide forever, try as he may .
Having lost three dear friends in tower 1 , on 9/11 , my heart breaks for the friends and families In London . All innocent civilians , all doing there part , going to work , taking care of there famalies ... and I repeat , Bin Ladins coward ass CANT hide forever.

of course we care about death .. anywhere

lets hope that the people of England find comfort with their own like we did after 9/11,there seems to be huge political differences even though Tony is still there.

I knew before I got done reading this there would be a post like this one. I don't know what the answer is. It could be that 6,000 will die tomorrow and the day after. Maybe because what is happening in Africa has become the expected whereas the murder of innocents is not. It could be you're comparing apples and oranges here-you can think about that one while I ponder your thoughts. Don't have an answer for you but I'm not going to minimize the pain, death and suffering of those in London, nor in Africa.

That said, our thoughts and prayers go out to those of London, England, and I'm sure to people of other countries that happened to get caught up in this act of cowardice. I suspect we'll hear of acts of bravery and courage in the coming days-people that sacrificed themselves so that others would live. I was struck by what appeared to be the calmness of the citizenry of London and our hearts go out to those have been murdered. There can be no justification for mayhem and murder on the innocent persons to advance what-a radical ideology.

Today we stand as citizens of the world and another piece of us has died in these treacherous attacks.

Wow, I can't believe you'd say something like that. To suggest that the people of Africa are "less innocent" than those of London and that their loss of life is in any way different than the loss in London is just plain ignorant. A life is a life...period!
All I ask is that ya'll show the same concern and spread out the prayers for EVERYONE that is being murdered unjustly not just those that your local news network decides is newsworthy.

I don't need to think about it Joey... You BET we care.... I ache for ALL people who are suffering, not just africans.
ALL people. My heart goes out to all who suffer, whether from aids or any other disease or atrocity such as THIS one....

but the fact is.... it's NOT the body count that is important here...
it's the fact that it happened at all... that any of this anywhere in the world has to happen at all...

joey, why don't you create a thread for the cause you care so much about ?? ;)

It's a public forum. I have a huge big mouth and I am rather outspoken but rather than sit quietly and/or just say the politically correct thing I prefer to voice my opinion. You certainly don't have to agree with me but don't tell me where and when to speak....nobody here is arguing or for that matter debating....we're discussing something.

I have a friend possibly caught up in it, I dont normally pray, but I am for now. :(
My thoughts go out to all involved.
I hope everyone that posts here is ok.

excuse me.............

Joey .. I dont believe she was " Telling you " to do anything . It was merely a suggestion for you to take an even bigger stand on the issue or issues you want to bring more attention to . Having a thread for whats happening in Africa is a great idea . You seem knowledgeable on the subject , so if you get a chance , see what you can put together . I think you'll find you will have alot of supporters , seeing how it IS such a tragedy.

I agree about that.
Also, my thoughts are very much with those affected by todays tragedy. I have been through Kings Cross many times and it's shocking to think of 21 dead there.

Continuing to keep our UK friends in my prayers! PleasePray for my dear friend ladybird and her son.the last I heard she hadnt heard from him yet! He works offshore, but takes the tube to work!

Thank you to all of our friends around the world for their words and thoughts, although I am not really close to London I do have some friends there, both r/l and online and am glad to announce they are all safe and sound.
:(
I'm so glad, Mark *hugs*

After a few hours of sheer panic of trying to contact my cousin in London, I'm relieved to know that she's okay. She's pretty much stuck there and trying to find her way back to Wales where she lives. My friends and family in UK are all fine too, thank goodness.

I am so sorry to all the folks in the UK... you have my prayers. :rose:

Thank You for starting this thread Cathleen. Being only about 30 miles from where this happened, it really brings it home that it CAN happen on your own doorstep and is always worrying as to what is going to happen next.

I have a relation, (the son of a friend of the family) who is a doctor in the hospital near where the bus exploded but I called my mum and she said he is ok and helping with the wounded.

Again Thank You and your prayers are welcome.
