I've been gone the whole day and was really pleased to find the messages in this thread.

I have to say I'm so very impressed with how the people of London have moved quickly to bring the life back to their city. I am excited already for the 2012 Olympics ~ the world can now see what a great choice the committee made for the games.

Peggy, thank you for giving meaning to the thread. :rose:

Do you know Cate I was so pleased to read what you said here. As you know I am a mad sports fan and I was celebrating the fact that we had won the Olympics on Wednesday night. Those celebrations were soon blown to pieces (literally) on Thursday morning. I think it is so sad for all those people that put so much work into bringing the Olympics to London to have their celebrations dashed by these bastards.

As you know the G8 summit is happening at the moment in Scotland and these 8 world leaders were going to be discussing a number of important topics for our planet such as global warming and how to help those countries around the world suffering from poverty. These terrorists may well have forced that agenda to change a little and that really makes me mad.

I have just heard that the death toll is now in excess of 50 and that it may well be even higher as there are still bodies believed to trapped in underground trains.

Continuing to keep our UK friends in my prayers! PleasePray for my dear friend ladybird and her son.the last I heard she hadnt heard from him yet! He works offshore, but takes the tube to work!
Thank you for this Oman.

I'm pleased and relieved to report that my son is ok.

It's so hard having a child that lives half a world away, and when disaster strikes it's a mothers natural reaction to worry. But he is safe, and I thank God for that.

that is SO good to hear... :rose:

What does one say???

I was totally in shock hearing the news of this most tragic act of terrorism... my brain simply does not make the connection that human benigs can be so monstrous and in such low regard for the lives of other human beings...

I send out my writhing pain's response of deep regret and mourne with all the family and friends of those taken from them in such a barbarack manner...

also hoping that Londoners will recover soon after the grieving...

bad news of this disaster totally overshadowed the excitement over the announcement of the olympic descision to play in London... that happiness will return... but for now I greive along with the rest of the CIVILIZED world and peoples... :rose:

Bravo!!!

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and is wife open a package. What food might this contain? He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, There is a mousetrap in the house.
The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my
prayers.

The mouse turned to the cow. She said, Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose.

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house-like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught.
In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock.
To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember-when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one
another. Massive death due to hunger, sickness and because a nation won't help itself is bad enough, but murder on a mass scale harms us all.

So, which one have you decided you are?

Amen!!! :rose:

i'm getting worried :(

*sending hugs and kisses to my UK friends and their loved ones*

first my heart goes out to a nation, a family, and individuals.

this has no explination, no reason. it is ment to spread fear into the population like it did in spain. I think this horrid act will be one of many turning points to make people rise up, and resist terror.

i am ex military and would gladly give my life for anyone of the civilians killed, in any of the terror attacks.

I have a cousin who is stationed on an airforce base outside of london. he is safe, which i give thanks for...

if there is anything i can offer, please PM me..

Thank you Babydoll and Bamagirl for your responses. I've posted similar sentiments on a non-erotic website, and my friends there have said the same as you

This is what viewers of Sky News (TV) say

:rose:

Freedom isn’t free; it’s paid for every day, its paid for many ways.
Free always has a price, is it a price willing to be paid, if it’s a price paid to the grave.
Free isn’t happy when something bad comes along, write a poem, sing a song
Free isn’t given up lightly, its something we fight to be, its not ever going to be a memory
Free will be forever as long as people want to be free, want to be in charge of things.
Free has a cost that we wish it never did, lives lost, to long to list.
Free isn’t a time, it’s a feeling, it’s a knowledge, its an act.
Freedom isn’t oppression, it isn’t terror,
Freedom is love, its life, it’s the dreams of many of us
On this day of all days, many freedoms appear to be taken away,
I am sorry for the act that made people feel this way.
I am sorry to see so many innocents gone, so many take the walk to a spiritual home.
Today we must stand strong, united, and show we belong
Today we show the world WE DON’T STAND ALONE..

In memory of the London innocents that died today..

NEW YORK (AFP) - A bell presented to New York by the people of London after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack tolled here in memory of the victims of the bombings in the British capital.

The five-foot high bell, housed in the grounds of the tiny St. Paul's Chapel next to Ground Zero, was rung four times, one for each of the bombs that reaped carnage in the London transport system on Thursday, killing at least 50 people.

The bell was presented to the people of New York as a gesture of solidarity on the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

It carries the inscription: "To the greater glory of God and in recognition of the enduring links between the city of London and the city of New York. Forged in adversity."

The bell was rung by the vicar of the chapel, Rev. Anne Mallonee, during a brief ceremony.

Earlier in the day, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed a condolence book at the British consulate

"All New Yorkers' prayers are with our friends in Britain," Bloomberg wrote before announcing that flags on all city buildings would fly at half mast until July 12.
