It's not something I've thought a lot about since I don't have any money, or a home where I could blare music or movies.

But I do know electronics, AV, audio stuff, computers, and I got myself hired at a home audio company.

Starting on monday I do some training. The company goes to people's homes that have bought nice expensive home theater equipment and installs it. We also sell the equipment to people. Not sure if we have a store or what, I learn all that on Monday.

What I was hoping was that , if people were feeling kind, they could post some home theater music/audio information for me if they could. I'm going to want to start getting to know the ins and outs, like JVC vs. sony. who makes the best cords., what is on the horizon.

So, any cool high tech audio info would be appreciated. I want to try and be up to date on the audio world on Monday. Maybe suprise my new boss with knowledge, that sort of thing.

Thanks

Have you googled your questions/the topics you'd like to learn about? I found info on Sony vs. JVC on the first page by searching the same term. If not, I bet a site like that would be a great way to get your answers quickly. :)

Word of advice: don't give too much credibility to the "objective" test reports in most hobbyist magazines. The qualityof any given component bears more than a casual relationship to the amount of advertising space the manufacturer buys from the mags. (Speaking from experience-I used to work for Stereo.)

You might want to start reading some of the related magazines such as Home Theater. Even though it might not provide the absolutely most technically pure information (see the related post on audio magazines above), it's what the customers are reading and it pays to know what your customers know (or think they know).
