Lost city.( vampire, lycan etc roleplay,Open to all)

Laurent takes Talias hand and shakes it when he hear Aurelias words. "Rather sharp that was, We are all brothers and sisters after all. I for one enjoy all of your company."
Smiling coldly to her he says. "You are still young, it is all a power struggle. The faster one learns that the better you are. One more thing. You are wrong in saying we are all brothers and sisters. If Talia here so desired she could have attacked me but she did not do that." Smiling towards Talia he adds. "I doubt she spared me for the kindness in her heart."

I smiled widely.

"You are correct. I see nothing either of us can gain at this point from fighting. Alliance would be far more profitable. Especially if the lycan was being truthful: He requests we be more careful and selective in our victims, so the sheep do not track us. In other words, take greater care in disposing of the evidence.
"I also don't want to see the younglings harmed. I went to great trouble to acquire Garnet, and I still have affection to Aurelia, as I know you do as well, sir."

(OOC sorry about the very short post, are quite tired hehe)

Laurent nods agreingly at Talias words. An alliance with this vampire really benefit him more than her. "You are right in what you say, in everything." Even as he agreed in her reasoning he would still be very careful around her.

"You heard what I said, Laurent, but you did not truly listen. Do not think me stupid just because I believe this cloak and dagger, power struggle between vamps is nonsense. I simply stated that we are of one kind, and as such, I think we would do better off to drop all this pretense and join together. But that is my opinion. You are welcome to yours. Good day, Talia, Garnet." I eyed Laurent just as coldly as he had smiled at me before I leapt to the next rooftop and assumed mist form. Childish perhaps, but he had insulted me, and ruined my good mood of then night.

*Well, you left in quite a huff. I do hope I didn't disappoint you by talking shop before agreeing to your little challenge.*

I watched Aurelia mist away as I sent this.

"Well. I might suggest you follow her. I am certain we will meet again, hopefully under better circumstances. Garnet and I will apparently be retiring for the day. Good day to you, sir."

I grasped Garnet around her waist, pulling her close to me, and once more lept off across the roof-tops for home, leaving her no choice.

Soon enough, we arrived at my porch, and I opened the glass doors.

"Please, enter. There will be plenty of room since Aurelia has decided to move out. The light is sufficiently blocked, and the bed large enough to share. We shall be safe in here through the day, and tomorrow night we shall again hunt and explore."

I closed the porch doors, throwing the room into near total darkness, in contrast to the slowly growing light of the coming dawn without ....

Ryanna heard the werecat excuse himself and a second later, the door was flung open. She was staring into his smiling and furry face. He purred and pulled her into a tender embrace. "There you are!” He cooed and rubbed his cheek along her’s, then rested his chin on her head. She blinked and quickly smiled back, nuzzling his chest briefly before responding. “I’m sorry honey, I didn’t want to interrupt you when you had company.”

She slipped her arm around his waist and nodded to the vamps. “Please forgive me for the intrusion, and I hope you have a safe day.” Rya sensed two more vamps arrive and tensed up minutely, though all of them soon left. She gave the Lynx a squeeze around his waist then extracted herself from the hug. “Well, then.” She said with a grin and merry laugh. “Think they bought it?”

Standing aside to allow his "guests" to leave, his arm still around the pleasurably warm femme beside him, Jack was all smiles and pleasantries... until the door closed. His smile died a slow death, it's faint traces lingering only long enough to assay themselves to the newly found potential ally that the Tigress represented. They both stood, silent and wary, until they lost the last remnants of sound that the departing Vampires made. Only then did they feel comfortable speaking.

“Well, then, think they bought it?”

"Not a word." the Lynx said, his grin returning with some force. "My name is Jack, by the way, or Happy Jack if you prefer. I didn't get much of a chance to introduce myself when we met earlier this evening." He looked her up and down for a moment, trying to recall what he had heard about this one, and at length spoke again, saying "You're the one called Ry... something, right? I've heard folks talk about you on occasion. They say you like to run alot... issat so? If it is, I might just have a little somethin we can do if you were to be interested..."

He left that hanging between them, even as they seperated a bit more, allowing her to preserve a bit of personal decorum. He had taken a chance dragging her into things like he had, and it had payed off. The Elder Vamp had been fine chatting with him when she thought he was alone, after all, had said he wasn't really affiliated with anyone, but she had scooted plenty quick when he had proved to at least have friends with a bit of strength. That told him a great deal.

Also, their exit had coincided with the arrival of not one, but two other vamps, one of which was the very one that had taken to slaughtering anyone she came across. Interesting indeed, and rather disturbing. She had seemed rather flushed, that one... the pallor of her skin being nearer to pink than the more common dead-white, and she looked as though she was just hitting her stride... Jack had a problem with that.

He had done his best to try the neutral road, to speak to the Elder of this new group, and try to work out some form of arrangement, even going so far as to offer some small service as a reward for their restraint. That one, however, didn't want to show restraint... and it seemed that Talia's control over the youngling was already slipping. He hadn't heard much, and had seen even less, but there was a definite confrontation of some sort between the members of the group.

He needed to determine what they were up to, and observe their feeding habits, if indeed they did so, to discern whether or not they were working within the agreed upon parameters. Having another set of eyes along would certainly make that easier, and if those eyes were attached to someone that had the potential to move as quickly and stealthily as he could would be a decided advantage!

Laurent sighs invardly as he sees Aurelia run away and jump to next building to turn to mist. He nods at Talias suggestion that he should follow Aurelia. Even as in his oppinion Aurelia had behaved childish he in some way cared for her. Just as Talia had said. Strangely enough. Laurent had made it a principle to not getting close to anyone.

It was all so very new to him. His diplomatic skills had more to desire he thought to himself ironically. He took up the chase, jumping to the building where he saw her turn to mist. Once there his senses took over as he tried to track her down. "Be careful, the sun is soon about to rise." He sent to her, hoping she didn´t try to block him out. Even if she tried it there was a chance his message would go through anyway. He was not sure though as it was a long time he communicated this way.

I allowed myself to relax once further away from the little group and reassumed human form. Leaping over the rooftops towards my newly acquired penthouse, I left my anger behind me, but I was very ready for a long day's sleep."You left in a bit of a huff," Talia's voice said in my head. I smiled. "So you noticed, huh?" I allowed my smile to carry over into my mental voice. "It's not you Talia, it's him. Even as vampires, men just don't get it." These thoughts I was careful to shield hard from Laurent. I was still quite upset, but in a way it was not his fault. He did not know me, and I knew better to expect that a stranger would understand my thoughts on vampiric life. "Tomorrow, I would very much life to know what your new friend talked to you about."

I was almost home when my brain again echoed with a mental voice. "Be careful, as the sun is about to rise." I smirked. "What, do you think I'm two?" Truly annoyed now, I dropped onto my balcony and misted through the doors. As the sun slowly rose, I became tired, but today I fought it. In the bedroom, I released the heavy curtains. They fell together heavily and the room was thrown into total darkness. "Perfect," I said aloud. Then I undressed, noting that I had some shopping to do, and slipped into the large bed. I had not told Laurent he could not stay with me, in fact I was still hoping he would, but I left that up to him. Still fighting sleep, I lay in the darkness, listening.

“Oh well, can’t say we didn’t try! Pleasure to meet you Jack. Yes, I’m Ryanna Silverthorn, or Rya if you wish.” She said with a smile on her face. “Yes, I enjoy running very much. Oh, what would this something be, a hunt?”

Hmm, where did he get his contacts? She was slightly envious of him now. She would need an ally if those vamps decided she was a danger. She might be able to handle two of them, but not all four. Jack could prove a great help. The Lynx was just as or faster than she was and he surely knew the city better too.

"So, how long have you been here, in town? I’ve only been here about a month myself.” She asked, in hopes of getting to know him better.

"Well," Jack said, scratching idly behind one fuzzy, black and grey ear with a long claw "It'd be more like a 'stalk' than a hunt, unless of course there’s a need fer otherwise." He slid over to his unforgotten cup of tea and drank it down before pouring himself another steaming mugfull. He reached down another cup and filled it, passing it to the Tigress without bothering to ask if she wanted it or not before moving to take a comfortable seat once more.

Looking up at her, he grinned and spoke again, saying "Drink up now, that tea is laced with a stimulant. Garnets own blend actually... No taste, no odor, instantly dissolving in or on pretty near whatever you've a mind to use it on! Doesn't have any effect on the undead, but it will recharge our batteries just fine. You might as well have a seat for a bit too, give those pointy toothed idiots a chance to bed down for the day before we go exploring.

See, that Elder Vamp, the one what was just here? She and I came to an arrangement about her little family’s eating habits… I don’t wanna have to, but if they can’t ease up a bit, they’re gonna have to be dealt with. I just wanna make sure they stick to their end of the deal.”
Jack sipped his tea in silence for awhile, his mind purring almost as loudly as his muscular frame.

”As fer how long I been here… lets just say I’ve been here long enough to know where the really old skeletons are buried. I live with the street tribes, the homeless, most folk call ‘em. We watch out fer each other. They’re my eyes and ears, and if need be… I’m their claws.”

Laurent sensed that Aurelia had went to her new home. Quite relieved he found a way down to the street. He prefered to be on ground level. He liked to move around peaple. Not to interract, he liked to observe them. He had once been one of them. Sometimes he could feel like he was one of them and not the monster he really was. Those moments of delusion was short and far between.

In a slow pace he walked towards the apartment complex. To soon he was standing at the elevator. using the code Aurelia gave him. On his way up to the penthouse his thoughts was drifting to how Aurelia had reacted. Smiling ironically he thought of his skill to talk to peaple, or rather the lack of it.

In a way he cared for Aurelia. That was something new to him. The only other vampire he had cared for was the vampire that created him all those years ago. She was killed by vampire hunters twohundred years ago and that was a long time without caring and being totally emotionless.

Being lost in his thoughts he had not realised he had made his way to the doorway of the penthouse bedroom. He just stood still as a shadow, looking at the form of Aurelia in the big bed. he knew she was not asleep.

Laurent stood in the doorway, not moving. For a moment we both stayed silent, simply sensing each other. Inwardly I sighed. "You are right. You lack skill in saying what you want to say...at least saying it tactfully. Tonight we will talk if you like, so that we may better understand one another." I looked at him, sensing that there was something conflicted beneath that arrogant face. "But for now, come. I invited you to stay, so stay. The sun rises and I am tired."

The events of that night moved quickly. It was a blur to Garnet, and she didn't seem to stop spinning untill Talia had brought her to her what would be her new home...for now.

She was tired. So tired. She didn't try too hard to shrug off Talia's grip, or even get too flustered when Talia spoke of her like she was an object. Not even sharing of the bed seemed to bother her too much. Soon she was fast asleep, her vampiric body needed rest.

She woke in the early afternoon. She rose, not disturbing the sleeping Talia. In the next room she dressed, her clothes still relatively clean from the night before, and took her velvet bag of supplies.

Using glasses and such from Talia's apartment she went to work, creating spells and talismans from her small store of supplies. She had..no needed...to know what her skills were able to do, now that she had...enhancements. She even made spells and potions for protection against lycans due to their encounter yesterday.

She paused only long enough to put her black hair into one long thick braid. As she was doing this she came across a small vile of h er mind blocking potion. She fingered it longingly...then a daring thought came across her mind. If she took it, she would be free from Talia's mind. But it was a small dose, and would only last for a single day. However, she could make more of it, if only she had the ingredients. She was undecided. And then in one swift motion she brought the vile to her lips and drank it all. She would make more, soon.

Laurent stood still a moment before entering the bedroom. He got undressed and moved to the bed. Without a word he lay down beside her. Looking up at the ceiling he drew her close in an embrace. He was so tired but glad he did not have to spend a new day under ground.

I awoke at dusk, to an empty bed .. empty but for me of course. Garnet had fallen asleep in bed beside me, but clearly her mind was distracted. She simply crawled into the bed and fell asleep, with no indications of affection.

But then I noticed her absence. Not her absence in the bed, but in my mind.

I arose and slipped into a dark blue minidress and 2" heels.

*Garnet?* No answer. I sought out her mind ... and met a block. She had taken some of her mind-blocking potion!

My first reaction was fury .. utter anger that she would dare try to exclude Me from her thoughts. I stormed over to where she was still working on her potions, gripped her chin in an iron grasp, and turned her face toward mine.

Gazing deeply into her eyes.

And relenting.

I nodded, releasing Garnet from my grasp and stepped away.

"I suppose I should not be surprised. You want to keep me out of your mind. The only way I can prevent that, I suppose, is to keep you from your magics. What am I to do with you?"

I paused a moment.

"Perhaps, you think you could survive on your own? If you wish to be free of my mind, then maybe you would like your body to be 'free' as well .. free to feed without protection, free to scurry into a space to escape the daylight .. Free to be ripped to pieces by the first lyan or vampire that dislikes your scent. Is this what you desire?"

The dawn came, the sun traversed the sky, and Jack wandered the streets of the city with his new friend. They visited many of his acquaintences, spoke at length with the leaders of human gangs and various factions of the homeless community. Everywhere they went two things seemed constant... everyone knew Happy Jack, and most seemed to owe him a favor or two.

Coming across a small scirmish between rival gangs, Jack held back, letting them finish their business before approaching, though it was readily apparent that he could have stopped the fight if he had wished. "Ain't my place." was all he would say, and it was readily apparent that he was content to let others handle their own lives, interferring only as much as was needed for the moment. Unfortunately, the "moment" involved those that slept through the shining hours this time.

Jack even spoke to a few members of the Police Department, approaching them as if he was concerned about a missing brother, and found out that though they had no solid leads at the moment, they were combing the city for information and evidence concerning the rash of disappearences and murders. His style never seemed to go above the level of simply asking a question or two, but it never failed to get him the answers he sought. "Folks have forgotten how to be cordial to others." he explained, seeing her questioning glances "Be nice, and they open right up anymore. No real trick to it, other than knowing which questions to ask."

By the time night approached once more, he had gained enough information to track the Vampire groups movements even without having to sniff them out himself. The first to arrive was probably the Elder, with the oldest of the two females with her arriving in town shortly thereafter. Judging from their movements, both together and apart, this younger one had not been made by Talia, but the Elder had instead taken her as more of a ward, probably trying to gain strength since she was new to the city as well. He knew Garnet well enough, and had been sending others to buy this or that from her over the last few months, keeping track of her growing skills and availing himself of her talents without actually approaching her personally, and knew for a fact that she had been human before last night... A shame really. The male that he had spotted with Talia's ward was more of an enigma. The Lynx could not ready associate more than one, maybe two of the deaths or disappearances to his movements, and even then it seems that he had only just come to town. Fast worker to have gotten so close to an ancient like Talia, or maybe it was simple blind luck. Whichever, he was involved now, and would need to be watched accordingly.

Returning at dusk to the same warehouse they had started from, he made the pair of them more tea, and dug out some food that was stored there, bidding his guest make herself comfortable as he did so. "So what are your thoughts about our prey Rya? Will the younger three comply with Talia's will? Hell, do ya think that she is liable to try a double cross on me?"

Garnet was completly taken by surprise as Talia found her. She hadn't heard her awaken, nor walking. Another vampire trait, she mused.

She expected Talia's anger, her fury as she did. She beared the pain as Talia grasped her chin in iron like fists...and then just as suddenly...she let Garnet go. A hand went to her chin to rub the stinging out as she listened to Talia's rant.

"I desire not to be an object to you!"

Nor a vampire, she thought to herself.

Thoughts spun in her mind, her first truly free thoughts since her turning. She had to make more of this potion, and quick, lest Talia discover that this draught was only a single 24 hours long.

She picked herself up, straightening her blouse and hair.

I glared at Garnet, frustration rising. I had no more than her words, and body-language to go on.

"Don't wish to be an object? So, you wish to be an independent, free being after all?"

I walked up close to her, once more clasping her chin .. though softer this time.

"Garnet, I have desired you as an object, since nearly the first we met. A conquest to overcome. Your power, your magics, made me desire not just your power-sweetened blood ... but your self. Could I take you, and make you what I willed you to be."

I looked into her eyes closely .. and for a moment thought I could sense her thoughts again .. before realizing that it wasn't that. I felt empathy .. sympathy. It had been 2000 years since I was where she was. I hadn't embraced it either. My sire had enforced my obedience through harsh physical means as he didn't have the mental prowess that I discovered.

"Garnet, I apologize. You wish to be human. As weak, as fragile, as temporary as that was .. you felt free. Is that it?"

I released her chin again, and turned from her.

"Well then, where do we go from here? I can enforce my will upon yours, without a mental link as easily as with. But I don't desire to do that. I've lived two millennia, and have seen vampiric sires beat their younglings to a pulp for disobedience. I've seen vampiric sires so regret their decision, that they drain their own younglins, allowing their bodies to dry to dust. I don't want that. Garnet, I don't believe you can survive out their on your own. Not yet. But, is that what you desire? To attempt to do that?"

I turned back to her, uncertain of myself. I did strongly consider beating her down, but I remembered that only made me more careful, not more obedient. I waited, then, to hear her answer.

I was glad of Laurent's company as I slept. All through the day, nothing disturbed me, and I awoke, still in his embrace. The closeness was new, but it suited me. There are few times when a vampire feels human, and not the monster that they are. This was one of those times for me.

Laurent still slumbered, and I wondered if he, like myself had spent time underground, hiding from the sun and the hunters. With that thought, my mind returned to dwell on the lycan that hunted me. It was he who had talked with Talia last night, but about what I had only her thoughts to go on. And her thoughts were not very controlled at the moment. I sensed she was having trouble with Garnet. "Not a very smart move," I thought to myself. "Making one so strong willed as that." Or at least for the way in which Talia desired to own her.

I slid out of Laurent's embrace, planting a light kiss on his handsome cheek before walking over to the window. I opened them, letting more darkness in the room. So many mortals out in the street tonight. But first, I had to discover why it was that the lycan hunted me. Hunted us, was more like it. I wasn't the only one he had been tracking.

I decided not to wait for Laurent to wake. I walked down the hall, still naked for the most part, and then threw on the black overcoat from the night before. I opened the balcony doors. Slowly I took mist form and searched for a clothing store. Having just killed the previous night for merchandise, I decided to pay this time. The female proprietor looked at me warily as I shopped and I smirked as I scented her fear. She relaxed visibly as I brought my items to the counter and laid down several hundred dollar bills. Then she wanted to talk.

"Did you hear about what happened at Edith's Gowns?" she asked me.

Sighing, I assumed the role of curious human. "No," I answered, trying to show curiousity on my face.

"The owner was found this morning, dead, and several peices of jewelry and clothing were missing!" I let my mouth form a little "O" of surprise and noted her wide eyes as she told me the gossip. "If I were you I wouldn't wander into that part of town."

Inwardly I laughed. "Thank you for telling me. I will certainly be more careful." She nodded at me as she handed me a bag filled with clothes. "You should be careful as well," I added as I left. "There are dangerous beings in this city." I felt her eyes on my back as I left and as soon as I was out of sight of any mortals, I assumed mist form and laughed. Slowly I made my way back to the penthouse, and dressed. I had bought a short topless white dress which I knew would look good against my skin. I added the jewels which I had taken the night before, and then waited for Laurent to wake. I did not want to face the lycan alone, no matter how brave I imagined myself to be.

Laurent awoke suddenly. He was lying in the bed but Aurelia was not in it. As he realised that he was alone he got quite worried. Many images raced through his mind of where she could be. Non of them pleasant.

He tried to calm down as he thought of how much easier it had been when he did not care at all. At that time it really did not matter to him if he was dead or alive. And he cared lesser for anyone else. Now it had all changed. He was not sure if he liked that at all.

He looked up just as she appeared in the doorway. Laurent hid his worries for her as he got dressed. Then he stood in front of her. "Are all well?" He asked in a soft voice.

"Your voice betrays the worry that you try to hide from me, my darling." I slipped into his arms and let my fingertips caress his skin under his shirt. "It is good to care about someone. Makes us less monster." I could tell though, that he wasn't quite sure he liked the feeling of caring. I understood how he felt; after centuries of being alone and not caring for anyone, it was hard. "I care for you too," I whispered into his mind.

"Shall we find out what the lycan is hunting for? He spoke with Talia yesterday, but her thoughts are disorganized, hard to read. I wish to know what he wants from our kind." I still stood embracing Laurent, taking in his scent, feeling his body against mine. As far as I was concerned, I belonged to him, although I did not know if he felt the same. "There is another lycan that has befriended this lynx. I cannot take on two."

"Will you come?"

Emotions. How Garnet hated them! Never was she good at them, not even when she was human. She much prefered her magic, her stones and spells and the nightly adventures to such emotions as love, or hate, or anger.

She cast her eyes downward as Talia released her for the second time. She wanted to weigh her words carefully, choosing wisely. Her of all people were familiar with just how powerful physically a vampire could be.

"I am not an object, no matter how much you will me to be. You speak of being human as lesser..but you are right, at least I was free. To do as I wished!"

She tried to keep her voice level, but knew that some anger had crept into it. SHe somehow didn't care anymore.

"What is it that you wish me to be? A pet? A plaything? I cannot do that. I must be able to continue my magic....."

She was about to say more..but something stopped her. Visions danced in her head..whether it was some enhanced vampiric instinct or perhaps it was because of how intuned she was herself to the magic fields in the city..but she saw...no felt...something new arriving.

"Something new is here...something powerfully magic..something lycan."

Aliyah told me to post :)

Name: Eduardo Garcia
Age: 25
Place of Origin: Madrid, Spain
Race: Human
Description: 6'1, light brown skin, brown eyes, muscular
Story: Eduardo comes from a magical family, but he never came into his powers. After his brother was killed by a lycan, he began tracking them. Then his ex-girlfriend, Aurelia, disappeared. He believes that she is now a vampire and now he hunts vampires as well. His goal is to find out exactly what happened to her, and to kill the lycan who killed his brother.
Weapons: 2 guns with silver bullets and sun potion, that when used on a vampire causes them to burn. Also several knifes and two silver throwing stars.

IC:
Eduardo awoke with a start, the jolting wheels of the truck he was on bouncing him up and down. As he began to realize where he was, the truck driver looked at him sidelong, wondering what exactly this stranger's deal was.

"We'll be there in about 5 minutes," said the driver, a scraggly man with greasy hair and a pockmarked face.

"Good," was the only response Eduardo gave. He turned his face to look out the window, and was rewarded with a view of the city into which they rode. From here it looked like any other city, but already he had heard of the evil that lived in it. Eduardo was sure that this was where he would find the lycan who had killed his brother. He had no magical means to track the man wolf, but he knew he would recognize the monster anywhere. Eduardo's hand trailed idly to his waist where he nervously fingered the blade of his curved knife for a few moments before he realized that the driver was watching.

"Just let me out here," he said sharply, as they entered the edge of the city. There were few buildings here, but that was better. Eduardo liked to walk in the night, and see what there was to see. The driver screeched to a halt and Eduardo tossed him some money as payment for the ride.

"Take care," the greasy man said in parting.

"You too stranger," the now lone man whispered into the night. "You too."
