Lost city.( vampire, lycan etc roleplay,Open to all)

I let out another deep sigh as Talia asked me what had happened. I did not even know where to begin. She had said no punishments so I wasn't really afraid, rather confused.

"Forgive me," I began, "for not having the prescense of mind to take money with me. My thoughts were scattered all over the place and it hadn't really occured to me that I would actually have to buy something from her until I saw her." I massaged my temples slightly as the thoughts were beginning to overwhelm me. "Even when I do purchase something from her, I doubt she will change her opinion of me. She was suspicious from the moment she set her eyes on me."

I thought for a moment and then added, "Well that is not quite true. At first she seemed confident that she would gain a sale from me. But as far as trust and getting her to fall into our trap, she will not fall for it. Not even the sad truth of my life as a vampire so far swayed her. Perhaps it is nescessary to visit her more than once."

I finally looked up at Talia, hoping that she would not be angry with me for long.

I nod, standing, and walk over to her.

"Yes, we can do that. Take your money, and these baubles."

I produce a bag from a hidden compartment. It contains a dozen diamonds, emralds, opals, pearls, and rubies. I grin as I shake the bag to let her see its contents.

"Baubles. What use do I have for them?"

So I give her the bag, and grasp her chin. Gently, but firmly.

"Now, this time, when I tell you what to do, do it. I told you, directly and bluntly, to tell her what you were interested in, ask for a price, and say you would return. You did not. That is clear disobedience, and for that you deserve punishment."

I allow my mind to brush the pain center of her brain ... briefly. Just a flicker, to reinforce my words.

"But, I promised you no punishments tonight. I will stand by that. Ignore a command like that again, and you will receive severe punishment."

I release her, and return to the couch.

"Again, I will be by you. Buy your magics. We will continue this over several nights. Get her to trust you. Then we attack."

I flinched as she pained me again, trying not to let my growing anger show. "It was not disobedience," I said. "I merely forgot in the panic of the moment." Whether or not she believed me was up to her.

I stood there for a second longer, trying to rid myself of my thoughts. There was nagging in the back of my mind that told me that Talia was going to hurt me for one reason or the other, and I was unable to turn to fog.

I grasped her bag of gems tightly as I walked onto the balcony, leaping across the way. As before it was not difficult to track the sorceress, and I made my way to her quickly, hoping that she would be pleased with the offering I brought her.

I smirked, and followed her at some distance.

"Dearheart," I sent to her as we leapt, "to my mind forgetting, panicking, ignorance, disobedience, they are all a piece. Do not forget in the future. Do not panic and let things slip. Fair warning: Next time a direct command 'slips out of your mind' in a panicked moment, I will give you a reason to panic. To fear. It will become scorched in your soul not to forget what I command you."

Coldness. Not anger, but coldness. That is the sense that I allowed to flow from my mind to hers. The distinct sense that her existence meant little to me compared to my Goals. It would not harm me in the slightest to destroy her should it prove necessary.

Garnet was entering the deserted town center when she spotted the young vamp returning. She grinned as she thought of the pixies taunting her.

"Back so soon? Have you an idea yet?"

I moved to the window and slowly stretched, feeling my muscles scream out in protest. The fight with the vampire had taken too much out of me and I cursed that thing for that. I stood there and looked out at the city, wondering waht I was going to do now a second before I put my fist through the window, feeling it slice into the skin of my hand. I brought it before me and opened up my fingers to test then just as I watched it begin to heal. That was one of things that I was grateful with this curse, the ability to heal rapidly.

When my hand had healed I walked out of the apartment that I had taken up as my temporary home and walked out into the street, wondering what this night was going to bring me. I moved away from the building without a sound and wondered if anyone was watching me and if they were what their plans for me were.

It was then that I heard the sounds of people arguing and sniffed the air, vampires! I thought before I ran straight towards where their scent was the strongest. I saw that one of them had their back to me and as I jumped towards her I heard a name come out of one of the vampires mouths'. I did not care what her name was, just as long as she was a vampire and I could hurt her.

The town center. Yes, a natural place for her to go. Well lit, in the middle of the city. She had advantages here. She could easily detect anyone who tried to attack her, as it was fairly open. Now, the exception would be, simply, if Aurelia distracted her from one side, and I came in from the other.

I moved to be sure the sorceress was between myself and Aurelia, watching for an auspicious moment.

She was in the town square and though there should have been humans milling about, it was curiously empty. I saw her grin at me; apparently her overwhelming suspicion from before had subsided.

"Have you an idea yet?" she asked, and no sooner had the words left her mouth than I began to sense something new. A werewolf. Looking around wildly I did not see anything, so I turned back to her, holding the bag of baubles in my hand.

“I have brought some precious gems,” I told her. Still nervous, I asked, “What have you to protect against these lycans? And I would also like some of this potion to shield the mind; perhaps something to allow me to walk in daylight if that would be of use to me.” I eyed her. “Do you sense a lycan as well, or have I gone insane from lack of human contact?”

I could sense Talia still minding me and I wondered briefly if she felt this new being enter our area.

This was unexpected. A lycan here and now. I got myself ready. Tonight would be a fight, and I did not know if the sorceress would help us or the Lycan.

I set myself ready to pounce, quickly and decisively.

Melina had been monitoring The plaza as was her habit. sensing the Lycan trailing Talia and her fledge. I decided to offer some defense for her. I had learned over the years I could make a doorway into anyone's mind. A Lyan was no different, but they were more unpredictable and more beast like.

"Lycan, wolf child Listen to me. One of the one's you track is old. VERY old. Hate our kind all you want, but think about your life for two seconds and not some stupid blood fued."

"Do you want to die a slow painful death and be fed upon. She will do it. I am as old as she if you hurt them I will lend her my aid."

As she did this she let Talia in. "Take my advice and behave like the human that lives within you as well."

"Melina, I will react to the Lycan as he reacts to us. For now, nothing more."

Into a better position now, I prepare to attack and attack ferociously if I need to. I am grown fond of Aurelia, for all of my earlier anger. And this sorceress, though I don't know where she would come down if a fight starts ... I could not allow any harm to come to her (well, none I did not orchestrate upon her that is)

I heard what the voice inside my head said but I truly did not care. My anger was so great that I knew if I did not let it out now then I would a human and that is the last thing that I wanted to do right now. I slammed straight into the vampire without another word, my change already upon me and knocked it to the ground. I knew that this was not going to be easy but I was determined to hurt this vampire and if not kill it then at least hurt the thing and get away.

I raked my claws across the vampire's back, feeling as it ripped into the undead things flesh.

Coldly, I watched the lycan attack the vampire. She was of middle age, just off the plaza, and appeared ready to make a purchase from the sorceress. Like Aurelia, she held a bag presumably of gems. I shuddered involuntarily as I realized the lycan had been stalking Aurelia and had somehow mistaken this vampire for her.

Ferocious were his methods, and though she was strong, I gave her no realistic chance. His blood-lust was up, and doubtless he would know, after ripping her to shreds, that there was another vampire in the town center.

Both of the women in the town center were in danger. I was not certain if he would be able to regain his senses before tearing into the sorceress, even if I got Aurelia out of there.

Even the best plans change when they are executed.

I dropped down behind Aurelia, placing myself between the two women and the Lycan.

"Young vampire, human, you both are in grave danger. Grave. If the Lycanthrope detects us here he will attack in full blood-lusted fury.
"Human, trust Me to this extent. You may continue your financial transaction once we have reached safety."

To Aurelia mentally: "Take her in your arms, leap to the rooftops, if she is willing. If not, follow close on her heels."

"There are many in this city, young vamp. But you are in luck. I have just what you need."

Garnet produced a vile of blue liguid, the potion that would block her mind as promised. She also took out a small ordinary looking pouch.

"Take that powder. Pour it along the entryway of your home. Mix it with water and smooth on skin. Or you can make a circle around you in a pinch. Lycans will recoil from in as if it were poison."

"As it were, the daylight potion costs more, much more, because of the difficulty of producing."

Garnet took a step back as she saw the older vamp land and recognize her.

"I have been out here everynight and never been in any danger from Lycans."

"A Lycan in full blood-lust intent on destroying vampires as though we were about to go out of season? I respect your Power, but for reasons of my own, I desire your safety.
"Young one, mind what I have commanded."

I said this all aloud, not at the moment concerned what the sorceress thought. Aurelia was buying magic to block her mind from Another, and the sorceress could assume what she wanted regarding my relationship to Aurelia.

All would be lost if the Lycan destroyed either Aurelia or the human. My plans would change, evolve depending upon the situation. Perhaps this was for the best. Maybe I could achieve an alliance with the human, for at least a time.

I focused intently on the Lycan now fighting the vampire. That was not my fight, so I coldy allowed it to happen, in whatever way it would. I also hoped that perhaps the vampire could weaken the Lycan, or at least sate its fury, before it rounded upon us.

"True."

Garnet was indecisive. It was true, she had never encountered such a blood lusted lycan before. However, her name was well known in that community, and although she had had her quarrels, she thought it was understood she was safe from them.

Then there was the matter of the older vamp. This must be the one the younger one was fearful of. Things could get messy if the older one found out what Garnet had given the younger. Or would give the younger one if the price was right.

But she was much more confident in her magic against vampires than she was with lycans. She had more practice with them....she was confident in her powers of protection.

"Fine. If you are uneasy here then let us either hurry the transaction now, or retire to a less explosive area then to finish the deal. "

The lycan had attacked and though I could not see it, I felt the pain of one of my kind hurting. When Talia dropped down behind me I spun around, fearfully. I backed away from her, feigning that I was terrified of her.

“Take her in your arms, if she is willing.” I nodded to Talia slightly.

It was clear that the young sorceress did not know what to do, and I could see that she was thinking. I thought I noticed her glance at me; perhaps she was thinking of my safety a bit. Talia had told me to take her away from this place and I did not want to get in trouble with her again.

"If you are uneasy here we can go someplace less explosive," she finally said.
I reached out a hand to her and said, “Come, leap with me.” She hesitated and again I urged, “I will take you somewhere else, away from this Lycan. I do not think either of us wants to be hurt by him.” On second thought I spoke again, "Or her." I gave Talia a frightened look while mentally projecting to her that it was all for show.

And a new thought had entered my mind. Although I was terrified of this lycan of which I had no knowledge, I was curious. Other beings had fascinated me as a human, and as a vampire they continued to hold my interest. I caught his scent on the light breeze, and though it was tainted with blood, I still smelled human in him; that smell did not come from Talia. I wondered what lycans were like fleetingly, before I once again returned to my fearful thoughts.

Garnet rolled her eyes. It was against her rules to do such a thing. When she was on the streets she had some form of control. However, she didn't neccessarily find the lycan all that terrifying. There were many ways to avoid them.

But the young vamp had brought a nice selection of stones. Well sometimes rules had to be broken.

"Very well. But not far or the deal is off."

She held out her hand.

My claws ripped into the flesh of the vampire as if she was nothing and as I saw the deep groves my claws were carving into her skin I let out a loud scream, ignoring the echo as I did. I could feel my blood lust screaming to me as I ripped into the vampire and all that I knew was that I wanted to kill this undead thing so that I could quieten it, at least for a second. She started to fight back, I could feel her claws raking over me, leaving cuts in my flesh and I knew that she wanted nothing more than to feed on me but I would never give her the satisfaction.

As I ripped deep into her abdomen I looked straight at her, "I hate your kind. You have made my life miserable and I want nothing more than to kill as many of you as I can."

I ripped my claws into her abdomen at the same time as I bit deep into the side of her throat, feeling its blood flow over my jaws.

She held out her hand to me and I quickly grabbed it; moving to leap and pulling her against me. As I leapt, I was suddenly overcome by a deep sense of sorrow, and this sorrow did not belong to me. I tried to read the sorceress’ thoughts but found nothing. I highly doubted that Talia was that upset. I pushed my mind through the darkness of the night, searching for the fount of all that sorrow.

My thoughts connected with someone, but with whose I did not know. I was only certain that it was not a mortal and that is was a man.. And so as I lept across the rooftops I projected, “Why are you so sad?” I was not certain he would hear me, but the sadness of his heart overwhelmed me.

After we had lept a few blocks, I saw a park and after looking around to make sure no one was watching, I dropped down onto the street and released the woman.

I tried to leave my mind open in case whoever was out there tried to communicate back to me. At the same time, I again took out the bag that Talia had given me and said to the woman, “The potion to walk in sunlight, to block my mind, and any protections you can offer…please.”

They were away safely.

"Big Bad Wolfie ... The fire's all ready for you. Come to my chimney."

I smirked. With the women out of danger, I began to feel ... playful.

"Come on out and play."

I remained where I was, watching for the Lycan. I could feel the vampire's unlife begin to wane. The blood she had drained from others was spilling out, and I could sense her frantic calls for help in my mind. I laughed softly at her pathetic attempt.

To the vampire's mind, I sent: "No ... Go to your Reward in Hell, child."

My muscles and my mind stretched, getting flexible enough to Fight this one. This would prove amusing. For a time, at least.

Garnet held her breath while they leaped from building to building. It was exhilarating, and a bit scary. She decided that right then and there she prefered walking.

As soon as they landedGarnet shrugged away from the young vamp until she was a respectable distance from her.

She took the bag offered by the young vamp, Opening it, she picked through the stones, selecting only the choicest ones. She then tossed the flawed ones back to the young vamp in bag.

"Right. The blue vile is the thought blocking potion. Drink it all and no one, not even the oldest vampire can read your thoughts for a time. The pouch is the protection for lycans. I've already told you how to use that."

And then she reached into her bag and produced a vile that glowed like molten gold.

"Now this....this is the one that will allow you to walk in the daylight. However, thos pition will only last a day. A longer potion will cost you more than the petty stones you brought tonight."

She handed these over to the vamp.

I looked at the potions she had given me and held them tightly. I could sense Talia, toying with the lycan. I wanted to get off this street and be gone from this place, but I knew I had to finish Talia's wishes first.

"For now, I will stick with these potions. But I may return to you if I need to longer potion." I bowed my head slightly to her. "Thank you."

I turned to leap away, but then turned back and said, "Be safe, sorceress and be careful."

I wondered whether or not Talia was ready to make her move and hesitated. Again I said to the woman, "How much does the longer potion cost, so I may bring enough money next time?"

"Aurelia, return to the rooftops. You are safe, as is the Sorceress. Yet, no point risking your Self with a blood-lusty Lycan on the loose."

I was disappointed so far. The Lycan may have become sated with the poor vampire girl, or may have become cautious rather than enraged at my taunts.

"Very well," I sent to the Lycan, "I will seek you out when you feel more willing to play."

I lept to the rooftops to meet with Aurelia. It would be necessary to discuss our next move regarding the Sorceress....

She watched the young vampire dissapear into the night.

She didn't bother to yell a price out for the longer version of the spell that allowed vampires to walk in the daylight. Garnet doubted that she could afford it.

She took a look around. She was in a park, a children's park a bit out of the way from her usual haunts. She decided to sit a bit and think about the night's events.
