Lost city.( vampire, lycan etc roleplay,Open to all)

"By all means, dear. Borrow whatever you would like. Though I would recommend something slinky and provocative. With a man, as you may well know, sometimes all it takes is to arouse him. You are attractive, and will likely need little else. Of course, if your target was ... devoted to the woman we took, it may require a little more. You will have no troubles."

I was learning that Aurelia didn't need training so much as someone to make sure she didn't tangle inadvertently with a stronger vampire or werewolf. She picked up quickly on what wasn't instinctive.

I stood by, watching her go through my wardrobe. It was quite extensive, and several outfits there belonged to previous decades. I was uncertain why I kept so many clothes. It was strictest murder to move so many things. I had always been told by my Master to own nothing but what was needful, to be able to move quickly. Somehow, clothing had always been a weakness. Tonight, it was fortunate.

As I sorted through her wardrobe, I sensed Talia watching me. She had said I was attractive, but I did not know if she was a lover of women. The idea both amused and pleased me.

She had many outfits, most of them dresses and I chose the shortest and sexiest one that I could find. It was black and fell inches above the knees as I put it on.

"How do I look?" I laughed turning to her. "If both of us seduce him, the mortal will think he died and went to heaven. Of course he will be dying, but first I have plans for him."

I went to the doors that led out to the balcony and opened them, letting the night wind caress my face. It would not take long to find him, as he was connected to the woman we had killed last night, and her blood still coursed through my veins. I waited for Talia to take the lead so that we could begin our evening hunt.

"You look to die for. And as for the man, I do not think heaven will be his destination."

I grinned. I would not allow my ... proclivites to rise to the surface. Just as torturing this little one would ill suit my purposes, harboring feelings for her, or even allowing her to think that I could, would prove a distraction. Potentially a fatal one.

I noted that she deferred to me, even though she had a target in mind. I smiled at this, as I secured my patio door.

"Lead on. You have chosen our mark for tonight. The honor of the Hunt proper is yours. I will assist you as needed."

The night air was chilly, as the summer was fast fading. Garnet slowed as her ramblings led her to a decorative plaza that signaled the center of the city. Once she reached that point she turned and looked around.

And then she waited. She was good at waiting.

I nodded to her happily and leaped across the divide between her building and the next, enjoying the night wind on my face. It would not take long to arrive at Adrian's apartment and we took the same route as we had the night before. The streets were empty and as we reached his apartment building, I dropped down onto the street. There was a bench nearby and I planted myself on it.

I had thought of a plan as we had come and now I put it into action. Pushing all other thoughts out of my mind, I concentrated on the apartment building and listened to the people within it. It did not take me long to find Adrian because he was thinking about his lover. He was wondering why she hadn't called him, and I laughed at that.

As I focused on his mind I pushed a thought at him. "I should go look for Jessica,"I projected and I felt him agree with me. I knew it would not be long till he would leave his apartment building and I looked around for Talia.

I could tell that she was following the same route we had followed the other night. I grinned softly, taking a quick detour.

Keeping a part of my mind with Aurelia, I follow a stronger Power.

Looking down from a tall building at the town square, I see Her. I know she can see, or at least detect, me. I barely graze her mind with mine, just enough so she knows it is I, and that I have not forgotten her.

Her power is great. Far greater than even I had anticipated. Greater, I feel, than she even is aware.

Her power seems somehow to flow from her very Soul, her lifeblood. I frown. Something about her ... the texture of her mind that I can sense ... I still feel desire toward her, to Make her and Entrhall her. Something about her, however, makes me recoil from my Plan.

With a last quick lash from my mind, I boud off after Aurelia, dropping down behind her just as she is glanicing around for me. I place my hands on her shoulders and lean in to her ear.

"Find him already dear? Tell me what you would like me to do. This is your kill, and I will follow your plan."

I was about to tell her of my plan when two things happened. I felt another of our kind in the city, someone new that I had never sensed before. The second was that Adrian had left his apartment building and was now making his way towards Talia and I.

I communicated to Talia in my mind. "You sense her, do you not?" I thought, eyeing Adrian as he continued to walk towards us. He had noticed us already and his eyes were scanning us in the streetlight. Talia nodded to me indicating she had. "Let us have some fun then," I thought at her, hoping that she would not make us run away to search for this new vampire.

Adrian had reached us now and I looked directly at him with a seductive smile. "Hello," I said softly, rising from the bench to look him in the eyes. He was not thinking about Jessica any longer, and his thoughts of lust towards me, and Talia also, were overwhelming.

"Who are you?" he replied questioningly, smiling at both of us openly.

"My name is Aurelia," I told him. "And this is my friend, Talia. We're new here," I lied. "We're a little lost." I giggled at the stupidity of this plan, but it seemed to be working.

"Oh, I've lived here all my life," he informed us. "What are you looking for?"

I drew closer to him and whispered in his ear, "A good fuck."

"Well you're very forward," he said with a broad smile on his face. "Do you have someplace to go?"

I asked Talia silently if we could take him home with us, promising to clean up any mess and dispose of the body.

Garnets talisman glowed faintly. She swore she could hear it hum even.

Then she felt it. A tiny little something. Then it occured to her. It must be from the strange vamp she had met before. Garnet spun around suddenly, trying to place the location of her. Seeing nothing, but knowing she had felt something.....

Garnet shivered a bit. No matter. She reached into her pouch and brought forth a small pebble of amethyst. Touching her forhead she muttered an incantation of protectiveness and clearing of the mind. It would have to do.

She started to walk again, keeping a sharp eye out for the lycan shehad met the night before. She had saved and brought with her a bit of ground beef for the creature.

Melina caught the prescence of two others of her kind. She was curious and decided to seek them out. Staying in the shadows she soon came upon the two women and the man walking towards them.

They were both strong in thier own right and she sensed something between them, they were probably lovers. she moved a bit closer trying to hear what they were talkign about.

I sensed the closeness of this new vampire as she came towards us. She had found us and was now lurking in the darkness.

"Go away!" I projected to her in my mind. "This man belongs to me." I didn't want any more interference in my plans.

Melina laughed and sent back, 'I don't want him. he's not my type.' She did not move from her position. it was a free country and she posed no real threat to either of them so why should she leave.

A passing car caught her eyes and made them glow like emeralds before it kept going on its way.

"You sense her, do you not?"

Mentally, I responded, "Yes. Ancient, nearly as much so as I."

She occupied my mental energy. This Adrian occupied my interest, only so far as Aurelia's mind, and body, were having its intended effects upon him.

"Who are you?" .

"My name is Aurelia . . . And this is my friend, Talia. We're new here . . . We're a little lost."

"Oh, I've lived here all my life . . . What are you looking for?"

I simply nodded and remained quiet. I knew what Aurelia told him when she drew close to his ear.

"Well you're very forward . . . Do you have someplace to go?"

"I have a studio apartment," I chimed in after Aurelia's mental question. "There is plenty of room for ... three. Certainly for a night."

The other vampire was now close. I could sense Aurelia bristle, and project a warning to her.

Looking up, I saw her. Melina Giaus. How ... intriguing. She didn't show any sign of recognizing me but I certainly knew it was the priestess-turned-thief. I began to wonder if it were a coincidence. Melina and I had ... worked together once or twice. Aurelia and I shared a connection in Spain, possibly familial.

As I considered this, I sensed an important and intimate connection between the four of us -- the powerful human being the fourth. What? Were we all simply drawn to this city by a common force? That ancient powerful vampire, perhaps? Was I being used as a pawn, even as I was using Aurelia, and intended to use the sorceress?

I watched Melina carefully.

"Aurelia, we should move on. She intends us ... no harm."

Mentally, to Melina: "We may have use for your talents later, thief. Be well, and safe. There is danger as well as opportunity in this City."

Garnet kicked a stone out of her path. Suddenly a man in a dark coat stepped out of the shadows...

"Goodnight, my lady. Have you my potions ready?"

Garnet smiled. The gentleman had been a patron of hers for about a year. She reached into her velvet bag and produced a glowing vile. She handed it to the man, who in turn quickly sheilded the glow by stuffing it into a pocket.

With a grim smile and nod he handed her a small leather pouch. She took it and waited as the man melted back into the shadows before examing the contents. She opened it and poured it into her open hand. Two nearly perfect cut black opals. Absolutely perfect for her next potion.

She secured it deep inside her velvet bag before wandering the streets again. This time, out of boredom she looks into the dark and dreary windows of the closed stores.

Adrian had accepted our offer and we began walking back to Talia's apartment. We walked silently; he had wrapped his arm around my waist and was hurrying us along as if he couldn't wait to get there.

I sensed Talia's words to this new vampire and regretted my warning from earlier. It was obvious that Talia knew her, and I had been unnecessarily rude. I bade her a good evening and good luck in her travels as we passed.

Finally we arrived back at Talia's apartmet; the way was much longer walking about on the street. I had sensed Adrian's growing lust on the way home and no sooner had Talia shut the door before his mouth was fumbling for mine in the darkness.

"Very eager, aren't you?" I almost laughed. His eagerness and lust would only bring death tonight. He smiled at me almost dazedly and I pushed him towards the bedroom.

***

The hour passed quickly and I had my fun with Adrian. He was so good, I almost didn't want to kill him, but his time had arrived.

"How's Jessica?" I said to him, untangling myself from the sheets. He started and looked over at me.

"What do you know about Jessica?" He was alarmed.

"Will you take the first bite?" I silently asked Talia.

"I know she was your girlfriend," I told him. "But you love me now, right?" It was not hard to push inside his mind and read what he was thinking. He was confused, which happened easily to mortal men, and I easily pushed my thoughts on him.

"I love you...I mean I...I think I do, I don't know I'm confused," he said stuttering.

I urged Talia to let us be done with him, for I was growing bored.

Melina returned the farwell and made her way to her loft apartment a few streets down. The kitten that was her new companion greeted her. She rubbed his large form and headed for the kitchen.

Anyone who saw him would have jumped realizing he was a wild animal. A liger she had kept because her client refused to pay her. Putting a plate of ground beef and lamb down for him as well a bowl of cream. "Here's you dinner Prince."

She fixed a large glass of blood wine and satdown on her couch. Prince's loud munching filled the room along with music form her homeland. Even in her long life she still had her fresh face of a 18 year old girl.

I led the three of us back to my apartment, attempting to remain as aloof as possible from Aurelia and Adrian. Even so, his wandering hand found my rear more than once.

Finally, we got to my apartment. I noted the rusty sqeak of the lift-gate on my level, and decided I should have it oiled, just to keep up appearances. This was the first time since I moved in that I had used it!

As I closed the door behind us, I heard Adrian grab and kiss Aurelia fiercely.

"Very eager, aren't you?"

I watched the proceedings, with a detached interest. Almost clinically I judged what occured. It had been many decades since I had a man in that way. I had little interest in renewing such pursuits tonight.

"Will you take the first bite?"

I nodded with a grin to Aurelia as she taunted Adrian.

"I love you...I mean I...I think I do, I don't know I'm confused."

His confusion increased as I came up behind him, kneeling on the edge of the bed, leaning down to his neck. He groaned in anticipation.

"Oh Talia ... I think I got something left for ya ... you two are going to kill me ...."

I chuckled.

"Too true."

My bite was swift, and his soft moan told me he hadn't quite caught on even now, with my fangs deep in his neck. I drank enough blood to sate my hunger, licked the wound to seal it (wasting none for Aurelia) and backed away.

He lay as if paralized, eyes wide in mute horror. He watched Aurelia, unable to do anything to prevent what he now realized was the inevitable end of his life.

Garnet shuddered, a cold feeling of death on her mind. It happened sometimes, that she would feel the agony or pain of a victim of some lycan or vampire. Her grandmother called it an extra sense or ability. To Garnet it was a hindrence. She didn't care to feel it.

She casually glanced at the windows on main street before returning to the plaza. Somehow she felt a pull or desire to be in the safely lighted square. Which was odd. She was always fearless at night.

She decided to fight the urge and turned down a well known alley that had the potential for clients.

I watched as Talia drank from him; his face mixed with pleasure and the pain of the bite. When she had finished with him I resumed my previous position on top of his body.

"Poor Adrian," I cooed softly in his ear. Even in his dying state I knew that he was still aroused by me lying on top of him. He looked into my eyes as I lightly carressed his face, prolonging the moment that I would drink him dry.

"We had your lover Jessica last night," I told him. "And she made me promise that I would dispatch you in the same way." There was no denying the horror his face showed as he realized that we had played both his lover and now him.

"At least you get to die with the thought of sex on your mind," I breathed into his ear, my voice no louder than a whisper. "This won't hurt...much." The last word escaped my mouth and I sank my fangs into the pulsing vein of his neck. His blood flowed through my body, renewing my strength and as I felt his heartbeat begin to decrease I released him a little. "Goodnight fair prince." His eyes fluttered and I bent to finish him.

When I was done I stood, licking the blood slowly from my lips, relishing it's sweet taste in my mouth. Forgetting my promise of disposing of the body, I turned to Talia, eagerly wanting more.

"Shall we go after the woman?" I asked excitedly;the sex had tired me, but his blood brought me back to life.

I laughed softly.

"Eager as I am now, I see. Mind, the woman is different. However sweet her blood may be, we do not kill her. At her last drop of blood, as her soul is ready to flee her body, I will offer her my wounded arm, and she will drink from me and become Mine. Mind me on this: Do not become over-greedy."

She could dispose of the corpse later.

I took the lead this time, barely waiting for her to dress before bounding off across the rooftops. It took very little time for me to find her. I was focused, if not obsessed, on her, and her power was a beacon to me.

An alleyway? Too perfect. I was tempted to swoop down and attack her at once. I knew, however, that such a tactic would be foolish. However strong I was, I knew her strength was great enough to do me damage. I would win, I felt certain, but I feared damaging her beyond use.

"Aurelia," I send to her with my mind, "She is there. Go to her. Mind, get her to trust you. Get what magics you can from her. She may well sense me nearby, so if need be I will retire while you speak to her. Remember too, I will only be a thought away. Any ... dishonesty toward me will be severely punished."

I allowed a tendril of my mind to flick across the pain-center of Aurelia's brain. I knew it was fleeting, but the sharp stabbing pain she would feel would be an indication of how severely I would treat her if she in any way betrayed my trust.

Another one in the Ally

Layla pinned another photo on the wall; this one of a young girl named Jessica. Today they had found another one in an ally, killed by the same psychopath that had killed the others. If she didn't know better she would have said a wolf or a big cat had attacked the victims. But that type of animal leaves tracks.

This time however, the beast that had attacked hadn't mangled the body as it had the others. Only the neck was torn.

Layla stared at the picture for a while then went to the other photos. There was something she remembered seeing on Jessica's face.

There!

The girl had on quite a bit of makeup, as if going out on the town. But it was smudged in places, and there was a distinct track down her face of mascara. As if the girl had cried or been caught in the rain.

Layla wondered if the girl had begged her attacker to not kill her. She had spent several hours with the girl's parents that afternoon, and had talked to many of the people living in the apartments surrounding the alley. Now it was time to talk to another person in Jessica's life - her boyfriend.

Layla didn't think Adrian was the killer, something in the back of her mind said the killer would be no ordinary person, but she still couldn't put her finger on just what would motivate this killer.

Layla pulled on her leather jacket and headed for the parking garage.

The pain passed quickly, but it was pain nevertheless. "Hmph," I thought to her. "I have not once given you a reason to doubt me, and I would not fail you in this." I was growing fond of Talia and resented that she felt she had to treat me like this.

My annoyance quickly subsided though and I dropped into the entrance of the alley, making certain that no one was watching. It was obvious that the woman would sense me, so I simply said, "Hello. I was wondering if you are one that can help me," and I waited for her to deem me friend or foe.

Layla ... Later that night

Layla beat her fist on the coutertop in her kitchen.

Damn.I was certain he wouldn be home.

She had called for survelliance of his apartment, to clock when he did come home, and to be certain he was someplace she could find him in the morning.

She would go see the forensics people as well in the morning, maybe they had found something that she couldn't see.

Mentally to Aurelia: "No, you have given me no cause to doubt you. This one I place prime importance upon. I am quite fond of you as well. I meant only to ... reinforce this one's importance upon your mind."

I smirked. There were few layers of Aurelia's mind I could not penetrate. She simply didn't have the experience yet to block me. Something, I realized, I would have to help her with.

This Powerful one, in contrast, was capable of resisting my mind. Doubtless I could force my way in, but as with a direct physical attack, this risked damage to her.

I decide it is safest to give them some space, so I bound away. My mind is still with Aurelia. I can tell at least to a degree what is happening. Certainly enough to know if I need to return for any reason.

Garnet spun around as she heard the new vamp speak. It didn't take her long before she realized that the one before hadn't been a vampire long. Just like her usual clients. For a brief moment she had the fleeting fear that it was the older female vamp she had encountered last night.

A confident grin spread across Garnet's face, but she took a step back. It was a smart move to keep as much distance between her and new clients as possible.

"What is it that you seek?"

Her voice was calm, her amulet glowed brightly.
