Lost in Space: OCC (Open)

???

*cough cough* You do realize how badly you would be bleeding if you tore out those I.V.s without patching them up, right?

By all rights you should both have bled out by now.
Their like needles you get at the doctors. When they take them out you don`t bleed all over, plus in cryo, your frozen almost and this is the future, medical technology has grown greatly. The IVs not only fed the people nutrients, the have a coagulant that seals up the wounds when their removed (like medi-gel). I can`t explain everything little thing or else my posts would be two or three times as long and that would be boring to everyone. I can`t have my posts all being the lenght of an essay, ok. Also our characters are confused, dizzy, weak, etc. They don`t have time to examine their wounds. If I made it where my guy instantly started to examine this body and start doing medical procedures (which takes concentration and alertness) instead of doing the most basic of instincts which is to find out where you are, it would take away from the reality of the characters side effects from the cryo sleep.

I hope in the time of cyro-beds and spaceshifts they have liquid patches that squirt out automatically if the i.v. are removed.

edit: Avellan was earlier, I haven't seen his answer when I posted.

Fair enough.

Oh, and IVs don't have needles that you keep in. It's actually just a needle they stab you with, and then they take the needle out and leave just a tube in its place.

Another thing: Cryo is freezing the body. So, it would be interesting if there were IVs in a frozen corpse.

But hey, moving along.

Sources

Look at the movie Pandorum: the guy had needles in him and other crap and he pulled them out without dying.
Look at the Halo books and games: Cryo exists their, and yes some do die in cryo, but only a small percent.
Many space movies and books have the same things that I explained.

DeathsKnight ca you expalin this to him for me because I give up. I`m going back to the IC

I said nothing about people dying in cryo. And are you seriously taking movies as hard evidence?

Hopeless.

Edit: Just realized I sound more asshole-ish than I intended.

Just a question: Are they I.V.s or injection tubes?

You said corpse which means dead body and I`m not using movies as hard evidence I was giving you some things to look at so you know what I`m talking about and have a better idea of what they do and loo like.

Their IVs with a needle that goes in the vein and delivers nutrients to the person directly through the bloodstream. Tubes connect to the IV that outside of the person they transport the nutrients to the needle part. Their`s other stuff about the needles and tubes, but I won`t say, your characters have to find out, that`s why I made this a mystery theme game. I know you have a lot of questions but if you keep asking, I might as well tell the entire plot and ending and I don`t think the other players want that.

Well, I ask so I don't get something wrong. I'm not asking for the plot, I'm asking how things work and how things are. You made this so obliviously you know, but we do not. I may be alone in this, but I like knowing how things work so I know what I'm talking about when I post.

At any rate, post incoming. Don't ask me to shorten my posts because it's not gonna happen.

A broken jaw. Really? The fall wouldn't have had enough force for something like that. Unless your bones have the consistency of tissue paper, of course.

Besides, the trip was more meant to stop you from going anywhere than anything else. Trust me, if Leo had wanted to do more, he would have.

Uhhh yeah you cn get a broken jaw from falling. My guy was sprinting and yur character tripped him. So falling head first on a metal floor while you head is falling at a fast rate, a brken jaw is possible.

I broke my jaw like that in real life. I was in track and I was on the 2nd lap, I tripped stumbled, and fell over while taking a turn. I fell face first and I broke my jaw. it hurt like hell. The human haw is not super strong like stell or metal.

Think of it, how do you break someones jaw when in a fight? You hit with enough force. Hitting a metal floor when your springing will do much more damage than a human fist.

Plus you don`t see anyone else complaining. Look up on the internet and see how much force it takes to break a human jaw. You seem to be complaining a lot over all of the simplist things.

What about your chracter? While in cryo, he wasn`t hooked up to the needles and tube which keeps the people inside alive. And just for your informations. You had to have your guy connected to them our character were asleep for 200 years. Sorry for spoiler but I had you get some stuff across to you.

The point of my guy not being connected was something I had purposefully put in there. Along with the cryo tube not opening. There is a reason to everything I do, Avellan. Don't try and get ahead of me in something like this. Very easy way to get on my nerves.

And I was only saying that about the jaw because you seem to be over-dramatizing things. That, and I really hate your character.

Right time for me to drop my two cents in.

If you are frozen in cryo, you don't need nutrients. Cryo just lowers the body's temperature so that your body goes into "hibernation", why hibernation? YOU SLEEP THE WHOLE TIME! So when the cryo gets interrupted your body returns to it's normal state, much like a bear waking up. Why the memory loss you ask? Well you practically starve your brain from oxygen so it basically "retreats" into the medula oblangata, it focus on only breathing and heart beat, the most basic of needs in the body. You want to argue the point? THEN WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU PUT NUTRIENTS INTO A BLOCK OF ICE???? Dreams are common before waking up as your body returns to a normal state and your brain starts to reactivate. I'll go into the memory loss as well if you REALLY want me to.

Also Ave sorry buddy but as a CAPTAIN of the MARINE core, you will block your fall no matter if you fall in the light of dark. Your chin will not hit the ground hard enough for you to break your jaw, no matter how porcelain like it may be. And since you were on a level stretch blocking the fall would be just normal human instinct as well.

That was my two cents. Would you like to know more? (Yes Starship Troopers pun intended)

Ok, I just want you guys to know that I`m using the process called Cryopreservation. There`s a lot of information about it. Look it up and maybe you`ll see what I mean. Anyways I`ll just move along with my guy though I hate it when I create a world and people insist on hanging it, even though they`re not the GM (Game Master). Also this is a futuristic fantasy world. It has a lot of the same stuff as our world but it`s still a fiction fantasy. And remember, cryopreservation in the Lost in Space world is still a new thing especially with it being used in outer space. Problems come along with the cryopreservation but its not the same as other forms in other fictional stories.

OK you just proved my point on the Cryo process. READ what others write and we can all get together. But tell you what, since you think we play "games" I have news for you. It's not a "game", it is an intellectual exercise. Sure it seems like a game as you get RP games, but then we would be on something like WoW, not on a Literotica Forum. Remember your character can only be as good as you allow it to be. I know that when I started I made mistakes, heck I'm still making mistakes, but after TALKING (PMing in this instance) with the others, I solve my mistakes, say sorry and actually learn from what I do wrong.

So TM (Thread Master) if you insist on playing others down and not wanting to allow your characters to have flaws and be superior in all ways I'll just remove myself from your thread. Also if there is threads that you are on with me and that particular TM doesn't want me there, I'll leave as well. But as I am trying to be fair, you can apply for open RPs that I start and we can discuss any problem we have via PM.

Thanks.
