The dark crimson liquid fell, a singular drop, almost suspended in shape of a tear. Accelerating towards the clean white carpet, threatening a never-ending stain. Kivar reached out his palm and caught the small drop on his finger tip. Lifting his hand, Kivar lightly placed his finger onto his tongue, revealing in the taste. A slight moan escaped his lips and with a satisfied sigh he placed his empty glass onto the kitchen counter.
"I absolutly adore a glass of cranberry juice in the morning, amazing way to start the day." He chuckled a little, but was soon interuppted by the glare that the clock protested. "Oh shit." Kivar quickly picked up his keys and hustled out of his apartment's door and locked it behind him. Rushing as fast as he dared down the steps, Kivar already had his key out and ready for when he reached his car. Once inside Kivar turned his key, only to recive a deep chugging sound in return. "Come on, come on," he urged the vehicle, turning his key once more. His attempt was rewarded with the warm pure of his vintage '68 Mustang. "Thats my girl," and with that Kivar was off to work.

"Jamie!!!"

Yep. That's me; Jamie Kennedy.

God, I was so used to that yelling. Every single day of my life, my parents would simply yell at me outright for any given situation. Honestly, you would think that they would love their child unconditionally right? It wasn't the case for my folk, they hated the fact that I wasn't exactly like my older sister, Jessica. She was the absolute model of a perfect child, A student... And I was probably the exact opposite of that.

Skipping breakfast, I rush out my home and walk my way to school.

Great. Fantastic. Another day of the same things.

(I think using third person would be better, as I expected to use fictional charcters)

Kivar was supposed to be on time, teachers were expected to clock in at least an hour earlier than the first bell so that they could have time to prepare their class before the first students walked through their doors. However, Kivar never saw the point in getting to class before his students. It seemed to him as useful as teaching to empty space.
Through his morning frantic race to work, Kivar was forced to stop at a red light. What felt like the longest, an possibly only red light in the world at that moment. Through the passanger side window Kivar saw one of his more dedicated students, Jamie. Rolling down the window, Kivar leaned across the dash to get her attention. "Jamie! Hey, do you need a ride?" They were going to the same place after all.

(If you prefer third person, why not ;P )

She was well on her way until a voice across the street shouted at her; "Jamie! Hey, do you need a ride?". Out of confusion, the nineteen year old looked around to see that the sound was coming from inside of a car, taking note that it was her teacher Kivar.

"Oh hi professor." Jamie said with a smile "I could use a ride to school, if its no problem."

Still, she thought it might be a bit weird but nevertheless, it would be a quickly trip by car.

Kivar unlocked the door and motioned for her to get in, he leaned over and opened the door and swung it open. The light had turned green and the vehicle behind him honked, "hurry up, before road rage back there has a stroke." He smiled and put the car in first gear.

Jamie responded with "Yeah, sorry about that." and quickly used the seatbelt. Her eyes essentially glued to the window, she watched as they drove off. It was one of those things that she used to do as a kid and never really stopped. Hoping to stir conversation, she asked "So, how are you?"

Kivar kept his eyes on the road but slightly turned his head to face her, "I'm doing pretty well, dealing with all the district budget cut frantics." He turned right onto a shortcut street, "How are you doing? Hows the essay for my physics final coming along?"

The young woman wanted to avoid that subject, seeing with all the drama going on in her household, she couldn't find much time to work on any essay. Granted, she did get some moments to work on it, but it was no where near as finished as she hoped it would be. "It's going well." Jamie lied "I just a few more days and it should be perfect.'

Kivar nodded, noticing an obvious lie when he heard one. After teaching since the Dark Ages he could practically spot a fib from a student a mile away. "Oh well I would love to hear your thesis sometime," he smiled, knowing full well that she had not even started on it. "You do know that the essay is due by Friday?" He glanced over at her, giving her a knowing look.
With a quick smile Kivar turned his focus back to the road, "if you need a quiet place to study and some help from me, you are welcome to write in my office. I stay after classes end for at least an hour each day, may even treat you to some dinner, how does that sound?"

"Yeah...it should be perfected by Friday." she said with a laugh, hoping that he didn't catch on. She thought about his suggestion and believed that perhaps, it was the best course of action to take. After all, her house was nearly a war zone, so any place would be better. And hey, free dinner.

"I just might take you up on that." she said with a smile "I could use some peace and quiet."

Kivar nodded, "couldn't we all?" His vehicle turned into the school's parking lot and quickly found a space in the teacher's section. He turned off the engine and got out. "Well you better hurry up and get to class, your teacher will be pissed if your not their on time." He was her first teacher of the day.
Kivar walked into the school, dodging footballs and hungover teens, and into the Teacher's lounge. He grabbed breakfast, a spinach kolache and coffee, and headed to his room.

Jamie couldn't help but laugh, seeing how he was her first teacher of the day. "Yeah, you have no idea how my teacher is." she then said in a sarcastic tone, before thanking him and heading off to class herself. Surprisingly, she was the first to arrive, a welcome change to her being late most of the time.

Kivar immediatly started scribbiling page numbers on the board as the bell rang and lazy morning students poured into his room, "good morning everyone! Hope everyone got some good rest because today is a pop quiz!" he turned to the class only to recive a collective groan.
Kivar smiled at his dissappointed audience, "aww suck it up. Come get the scantrons and tests, and afterwards read these pages for our discussion."
