Magic Shave: Do I really need a spatula?

Question:

I used magic shave for the first time a few nights ago. It didn't irritate me at all which was great... even on the scrotum. However it seemed to leave behind a fair amount of stubble.

I "shaved" the cream and the removed hair off with fairly stiff piece of cardboard I ripped off the top of my wife's tampax box because I failed to read the part in the instructions about using a spatula.

Is the spatula key to not having the left behind stubble? Did I not leave it on long enough? (I left it on for 7 minutes with zero irritation, so should I have left it on for the full 9?)

I'm willing to sacrifice a spatula from the kitchen for the effort if need be :)

A rubber spatula -- like the Rubbermaid (TM) model intended for bottles -- might provide slightly more "grip" in removing the hair Magic Shave loosens, but it isn't absolutely necessary; your boxtop solution should be good enough.

I think the full time specified on the package will do more to eleminate the stubble than the difference between cardboard and rubber will.

FWIW, several people on previous threads have suggested a "credit card" works well.

Alright I'll try a rubber spatula today, and a credit card in a few days when I do it again.

I suppose it the manufacturer puts something weird like "use a kitchen spatula" right there on the bottle, you might as damn well do it.

Thanks!

Catchy title

It had nothing to do with your implement of choice. You could theoretically wash it off with a facecloth, though getting rid of most of the cream by scraping it off is alot less messy, and tends to get more of those dissolved hairs down the drain, maybe less sticking to your wet skin. When you get the stubble effect it means you need to leave it on for a little longer, I'd say go the recommended time. But make sure to get it off the moment it starts irritating you, because that uncomfortable burning/itching feeling will be your outer layers of skin disolving. This happens anyways, but usually it's confined to just the dead skin cells, sort of like an acid peel. that's why your skin will feel so soft afterwards. But burning = bad.

I suggest purchasing a women's kit. Some creams, I think Veet, you can buy it anywhere, come with an ergonomic rubber edged spatual - just check in the box. It's small and easy to manuver in tight spots, and the rubber makes it extra effective at removing the cream without irritating sensitive areas. Pubic hair is pretty much the same between sexes, you can get a box made for that, it will say either for bikini, or for coarse hair. The time recommended on the pack is usually good, if it's stubbly, leave it on a minte or two longer. You can either elect to purchase it again, or keep the "spatula" for use with your regular brand.
