Making your crush jealous

Personally, I never got the whole 'making your partner jealous' thing. I don't think I could do that to my all. I care about him, so why make him jealous? I don't know, but that's just me.

That said, I do casually flirt and so does he but it's fun and it's never ever made to feel the other jealous.

*shrugs* maybe I'm just weird, I don't know. :)

Not weird, I agree completely. I've never seen the point of game playing.

This isn't Junior High. Most guys really don't like drama and manipulation.

And jealousy isn't about love. It's about ownership. You're a possession to them. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I read something on here somewhere - Boys make their girl jealous of other girls. Real men make other women jealous of their woman. It goes both ways.

Honestly, has this, or any other manipulation game ever worked? On mature adults? Who can sometimes think without their genitals?

Nine times out of ten when people do that it backfires and nothing good comes of it.

Agreed.

it's a regressive behavior that's gone on for centuries, but it's no excuse/reason to play those kinds of games. intentionally trying to evoke a jealous reaction out of someone you're dating or wanting to date is childish. not only is it hurtful to your partner, it's hurtful to the relationship and can ultimately destroy it.

jealousy doesn't serve a purpose and if you have to test your relationship by manipulating your partner for their attention, it might be time to address what is wrong in your spirit.

love - true love - is not jealous.

To properly respond to this thread, I'd have to:

1. Have a crush
2. Have someone crushing on me
3. Have enough experience in both 1 and 2 to know if I liked it or not...

I'll say no though....

I personally don't think that it is fair. Making one jealous like that could easily break someone's heart.

Who said life was fair? Yeah it is a bitch move but it happens.
If you can't handle things like this then I suggest you move on.

You asked a question - and Beck 31 gave his honest opinion. If you cannot handle one's perspective, then maybe you should be cautious in asking a question that begs answers of differing opinions:).

Yes, life isn't fair. But the beauty of being human is that we can make the decision to make life as fair as possible, given the unfair circumstances. Ergo, it isn't fair, according to Beck31, to make one's partner jealous. Beck31 made the decision to rise above the unfairness of life to make his partner's life a bit more fair. It's being compassionate and considerate.

Playing games is, as SensualDreamer pointed out, a sign of insecurity. It's also a sign of disrespect. If my all tries to make me jealous, he obviously does not respect me. I trust him, and he trust me, and believe it that trust was hard-earned on both of our parts. He has also earned my respect and I his. Why should I destroy that trust and respect by purposely pissing him off? What's the point? For a few minutes of ego-stroking? Is it worth it? In my book, no.

Personally, such behaviour is, in my opinion, low, crass and incredibly demeaning. It's passive-aggressive and unjustifiable. It's just rude and there is absolutely no excuse to be rude to anyone, especially not to one's partner(s).

*bows respectfully out*

Yes that is true but, Blaze, there could be a different way of going about it. I mean if you had an issue with someone bieng too lovey dovey with you then maybe explaining how it makes you feel uneasy and/or how you would rather just be friends then break a heart. Just my opinion though.

Sorry but I told you I was a bitch. Maybe you're right though. Maybe someone should stop following me around like a love sick puppy. Yes, I stalk your posts and am laughing my ass off.

I try to go out of my way to make sure he knows he's number one with me. I would never want him to think, for even one moment, that I might care for another over him. Why would anyone want to hurt someone like that? Even if you don't truly care for a person, honestly speaking to them about your feelings is a much better option than purposely being a bitch.

I always get confused about questions like this. Do you mean on Lit or in the real world.

On Lit I could care less who is making who jealous. If someone thinks I'm make them jealous deliberately on Lit then they really have no idea who I am.

If in the real world I would stoop so low as to blatantly flirt with other men in hope to get my husband jealous if laughable at best.

Jealousy is a fear of your own self confidence.

And as Yoda best put it:

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
