Marginalizing Christians while advancing other faiths

Sean --- Islam doesn't care that the United States is on the other side of the planet.

Islamic extremists attacked America in 2001, before we had any troops in either Afghanistan or Iraq. They attacked and murdered several thousand innocent Americans because that's what they do.

Islam wants you to observe Islamic Sharia Law, regardless of whether or not you actually believe in their primitive religion.

Islam regularly murders people simply for being gay, executing them in public. They stone women to death, and rape & kidnap little girls. You seem to believe that because you live in California, none of this pertains to you and to your life, but Muslims feel otherwise.

...

You see, that's the bullshit. Still confusing Islam with Islamic extremists. How can somebody take that seriously?

There are close to a dozen folks on Lit who regularly conflate Islamic extremism with the whole of Islam. Ishmael does it most often, the Chief does it non-stop as well.

There are moderate Muslims who fear Islamic extremists, and then there are your everyday Muslims who fully SUPPORT the Islamic extremists. And then, of course, there are your Muslims who actually ARE Islamic extremists.

Only about 13% of Nazis openly participated in murdering people. Most "moderate" Germans who joined the Nazi Party didn't openly approve of mass murder or the persecution of Germany's Jews, but they didn't openly speak out against it, either, because they were terrified of the consequences. And then, of course, there were your everyday Nazis who approved but didn't actively participate in rounding up enemies of the state because they just didn't have it in them to kill other people. And then, of course, there were the "Nazi extremists" who had blood on their hands.

I would argue that simply being a Nazi was bad, as it was an "evil" political philosophy (not unlike Communism), but you guys can argue that moderate Nazis, Communists, & Muslims are really nice people if that makes you feel better.

I don't think comparing a religious faction to a government faction is a very good analogy, but hey, it's Sunday morning and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Being a nazi is much being an extremist. Nazis came to power over democracy, and the first thing they did was killing it. Since the end of WWII, it's consensus that Nazis will continue doing that, and most of them confess it freely.

That's the difference to Islam. You can argue about Hamas, Hizbullah or Fatah, which are political extremist wings of Islam, as a counterpart of Nazis. But there are quite a lot of governments with Islam parties NOT killing democracy, being moderate in their actions.

In the end, you come in danger to support nazi-like movements, just to get rid of every muslim.

Yes, we know, those 3000 in New York got what was coming to them, right Sean? It was all our fault. Get the fuck outta my country.
Exactly right. That's the logical conclusion when you blame a group for the actions of a few. It works both ways.

Rob-Down-South & Popping Tom --- I would argue that there really ARE such things as "evil ideologies" --- and yes, I would include both Nazism and radical Islam together in that mix.

The Nazi global threat ended in 1945, but the threat from radical Islam has only GROWN with time, especially since 9/11, and it's spreading worldwide.

And Islam, as a religion, includes all of the very same revolting anti-Semitism that we had with the growth of Nazism.

What amazes me, is that just as America's Communists actually assisted the Nazis between August '39 (Hitler's non-aggression pact with Stalin) and June '41 (Germany's invasion of Soviet Russia), today's political-progressives seem largely untroubled by daily Islamic excesses practiced against gays & women, opting to instead save all of their loathing for those Christians and/or conservatives who support traditional marriage and/or oppose abortion.

Sorry, but you're wrong. The Nazi threat is still there. Neonazis may not have that much of a political power like in 1933, but they're still there, and Islam hate is to their support.

For me, it's laughable to talk about muslim ruled no-go areas in Germany, when in reality, this would be a paradise for nazi actions. Truth is, there are a lot of no-go areas for muslims in Germany, not the other way. I've never been pushed by muslims in strong muslim areas, but many times in nazi areas.

Seems you haven't heard much about firebombing of asylum seekers hostels in East Germany ? This is our every day reality.

Popping Tom --- During the Second World War, Islamic groups in Egypt, Iraq, Syria, and Iran fully supported Hitler and Nazi Germany.

The British actively fought small-scale military engagements against pro-Nazi forces in Iraq, while the Soviets & British overthrew the pro-Nazi Shah of Iran and divided that country between them for the duration of that war.

The skinheads in Europe today are about as powerful as the KKK is in today's American south (which is not-at-all), and their efforts are largely anti-immigrant, which includes anti-Muslim. But they have no real political power.

American liberals fear that the anti-Islamic backlash in Europe following all of those Islamic terror attacks will fuel the parties of the right, but Europeans of all political stripes are finally becoming fed-up with Islam and everything that increasingly primitive religion represents. You don't want sizable Islamic populations in your midst that believe in things like enforcing Sharia Law and promoting rabid anti-Semitism.

And before Abu Ghraib and Gitmo. So the notion that these are recruiting tools for radical Islam is Obama bullshit.

I've personally interviewed numerous high, mid and low level terrorist who openly said they use our own violence against us to recruit more. They do everything they can to paint us the bad guys.

I've seen Al Qaeda doing it first fucking hand and so have hundreds if not thousands of other soldiers/marines who were out there kicking doors in.

You're out of your lane old man.....sit the fuck down.

Yes, we know, those 3000 in New York got what was coming to them, right Sean? It was all our fault. Get the fuck outta my country.

You don't own the US....and Sean is right, we played a part, every victim plays a part.... Now take some fucking personal responsibility and own it.

Protect the Christians of America!

For the last three years, right-wing Christian groups have been distributing Bibles to students in the Orange County, Florida, public schools system every January on "National Freedom of Religion Day."

Freedom of Religion, Free Speech, Equal treatment under the law

A Florida judge ruled that if the Orange County school district allowed Christian groups to disseminate Bibles and Christian-oriented religious materials in its schools, it would also have to allow atheist groups to do the same.

Raw Story

Amid mounting pressure from both atheist groups and concerned parents, Orange County (Fla.) Public Schools have banned Bible distribution in several area high schools after Satanists and an anti-religion group announced plans to pass out their own literature.

Under the school system’s policy at the time, Bibles could be placed on a table in a common area for students to pick up if they chose to do so.

Last year, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist group, sued for the right to distribute its own literature after losing a battle to have all outside materials banned from the schools. One of the group’s proposed pamphlets included a small leaflet titled “An X-Rated Book: Sex and Obscenity in the Bible.”

The front cover of the pamphlet depicts a graphic cartoon Bible sexually assaulting a screaming woman.

OCPS has stated it will not allow any materials to be distributed, including atheist pamphlets, Satanist coloring books -- or Bibles.

Religions, other than Christian religions, are not protected under the Constitution ?
Rack up another First Amendment win for the Establishment Clause trolls at the Satanic Temple. The specter of children having access to a satanic-themed coloring book was simply too much for the Orange County School District in Florida, so it cancelled — or “indefinitely delayed” — a planned “Religious Freedom Day” distribution of Bibles and other religious literature, rather than allow the Satanic Temple to distribute its evil activity book.

Christians have really shot themselves in the foot by trying to hand out Bibles to kids. Earlier in the school year OCPS put out memos that coaches were not allowed to pray with kids, or have team ministers. Look for The Pledge to go next.
