However, we do not support those like Sean that want welfare as a career option. People like Sean will not step up to the plate and take care of his issues. IE if he or someone like him lost his or her job, they wouldn't take any job to bring in come for the household. The would sit back and collect the Obama stimulus while waiting for a high paying job to fly out of no where. Had several family members that did that, and they didn't understand why I didn't help. Well, that was an ass thing to do. People fall down. I thought part of family was to help each other and support each other when we do. Now I agree that Welfare is not job opportunity. It suppose to be there to help you live and survive till you can get a job.
As far as the waiting for a good job to "appear" goes, there is this thing called a living wage. Most of America works below it. Between child care, rent and the cost of food not just any job will do. I haven been there. After my divorce from a very abusive piece of shit I was forced to go on it till I got therapy to help with all the crap that being abused leaves. I am not ashamed of that. That is what the system is there for. When I did start back to working I discovered there was a gap between the government cut off and the wages I was making. I worked 14 hours a day 6 days a week and still lived below the poverty line. So while you are sitting on your moral high horse, I suggest you look at the fact that the greater issue is the wage level is below what one needs to live in most jobs. As a single parent of a special needs kid and with the hours I worked could not work two jobs.
Now, I am not telling you this in interest of gaining sympathy. Just wanted to give you an example of how the system works from the inside. Since you have zero knowledge of it.
I didn't not grow up on welfare. I actually went to private schools my whole life. It was a very scary and downgrading experience. They treat you horribly there. Like cattle about to be slaughtered. And I went in as an abused woman. You have no idea how horrified I was by the whole experience. It is not hard to understand why many who have lived on it for generations are hateful and mean. Thos people are major douchebags.
And I sure hope you don't call yourself a Christan because I would have to say you are failing at it miserably. The whole take care of your neighbor thing and all that.

The federal government wasn't involved in Flint--although now it has to step in and clean up the mess. All of the Flint mess happened under a Republican state administration. And what has been Snyder's response to the crisis? Why he's asked for federal government help, of course. (Can we hear a "duh"?--for both Snyder and you?)
